The squirrel's tail twitched furiously as he shifted in his seat. Should he answer the question truthfully, or perhaps he should make something up? Then again the truth could easily sound like a lie. "I need to visit a mage, and the one in the Wood... wasn't quite willing to provide me with what I needed. Therefore I needed to look for a mage who would be willing to help me."
He snorted, "I'm normally rather good with magic. This however is beyond me." He waved a hand and one of the snotty waitresses. They continued to ignore the squirrel. For heaven's sake, this body was a Queen. Did Highlanders have no respect for rank at all? If only he was something more... intimidating. That would get the snotty bastards to do what he wanted.
"I'm starting to think, though, that I should have muddled through the magic on my own. It would have been better than dealing with these morons."

Nellwyn watched her carefully as she answered, nearly staring with those darkened pink eyes. She was dancing around what exactly she needed that the mage in Tulgey couldn't give her quite nicely...but Nell wasn't about to call her out on it. And how a mage in the Highlands would be any better--but then, what did Nellwyn know of the subject? She'd left magic behind her when she left her family home. Her parents had dabbled, and she herself had been fascinated by it, to some degree, but never quite picked it up herself. It was more the...application of the magic to bring someone to their demise that she found interesting. And there were easier ways to do that, more satisfying ways, with claws and knives and beasts of the Wood. Magic that caused pain, though, now that was something she thought she could find a use for...her own pain spell was something she always relished using, though to her sadness she couldn't recall the last time she had done so. Stupid Duck, chaining her, and stupid nicer half that took control in order to preserve her reputation and always told her to wait...wait.
She was tired of waiting. "I have to say, I can't blame you...there are a lot of morons in the Highlands." Her eyes flashed darker and the strange aura around her was sure to send prickles down the necks of the Highlanders who were ignoring them.
She bared her teeth, eyes flaring suddenly red with the desire to -kill-. "You know, this tea shop has rather horrible service," she began in a dangerous, low voice. She let her gaze flick around the small shop, casually...coldly. "I also happen to notice it's fairly far from anything else...why, if they needed help, there would be no one to hear them screaming...Foolish, then, to let two Tulgies, and one a Queen, become displeased..." With a motion quick, fluid, graceful, her paws both came up, sharp claws gleaming suddenly in the light from the window.
If that didn't get their attention, maybe she'd give her pain ability some exercise, after all.

Lythero felt a chill travel up his spine. For a moment his face flashed complete and twisted joy at the sudden aura of fury that he felt. Oh he likes this woman. She was a true and proper Tulgey and dangerous.
Oh, and how he would love to massacre the idiots in this shop. Even if they served the tea he would just love to repay them back for their kindness. "I think a lesson might be in order regardless of if they shape up or not," he commented quietly with a smirk.
One of the Highland women, looking terribly frazzled came over with a set of menus. "How can I help you?" She asked nervously.
"Tulgey Red," Lythero said cheerfully. "And if you have any food that doesn't taste like cardboard that would be pleasant."
The woman's nose scrunched up for a moment before turning to the feline. "And you ma'am?"

Nellwyn smirked back at Lythero, showing her fangs. "It may indeed," she replied in a low hiss, tail thrashing like some wild, untamed thing. She flexed her claws, imagining sinking them into flesh, blood staining that pristine white coat, covering the golden swirls...
She looked up as the Highlands woman came over, triumph flashing hot in her eyes, and then...her entire aura just completely changed in the span of an instant. Her paws came to rest lightly on the table, claws going in, her eyes dimmed until they looked almost kind, her fur lay flat and sleek, and her smile became very amiable. The only hint that that darkness was still lurking under the surface was a subtle tenseness to her muscles.
"Tulgey Red for me as well," she said, voice laden with saccharine sweetness, light and careless. "And perhaps a bowl of soup and a roll. Duck soup, if you have it, but if not chicken noodle will do. Thank you, dearie." If anything, the complete and utter change, like she was suddenly an entirely different Card, would be sure to set the waitress on edge even more. Or at least confuse the !#$% out of her. The thought made Nellwyn cackle inwardly with sadistic glee, and she flashed Lythero a look, letting the darkness show again in her eyes...coiling there, like a predator pretending to rest, but ready to pounce in an instant.

Lythero choked back a chuckle as he watched the Highlander's confusion at being so politely addressed. Mrs. White was certainly a wonderful Tulgey woman untainted by the Outside. He highly doubted he would find any more gems... but he could enjoy this while it lasted.
The Highland woman simply nodded before hurrying off to place their order. It would be a while before she returned, and they wouldn't be seeing her until then. The other Highlander in the room made sure to keep their distance.
Lythero laced his fingers together, putting his chin on them with a small smirk. "So I hope you don't mind me asking, but is they pay good in the Highlands? I generally assume you live here or... at the very least you know the area rather well. You've been her... long?"
He was curious. He wanted to know more, though he doubted he would get full truths since he was hardly revealing his own. It was nice to test the waters again though.

The smile that Nell gave the woman as she scurried away like her ass was on fire was as sweet as it could be, but it changed to a self-satisfied smirk as soon as she faced her companion again. It was so very refreshing to be among her own kind again...it almost made the two personalities constantly at war within her peaceful, for once, as they both agreed this was a good thing in the long run.
Of course, her look fell a bit at the question, and she frowned, whiskers twitching. "As with most places, the pay depends on the sort of job you have, but unless you have no other options..." She shredded the gold-and-white tablecloth absently with a claw. "I'd get back to the Wood as soon as you possibly can. Sadly, yes, I do live here...trust me when I say that my situation is unenviable, despite living in perhaps one of the largest, emptiest mansions in the region." She figured it was safe to speak most of the truth as long as she didn't drop names...after all, Lythero had shown herself completely unfamiliar with the Highlands and its residents other than the mage she was seeking out.
"Three years...oh, pardon me, three and a half years," she said flatly, fluffy ears pressing towards the sides of her head in general dissatisfaction. "I hope I can get out of here before another three years or it will drive me insane." Some would say she already was insane. But that was all par for the course, the important thing...was killing McDuck.

He watched her shred the table cloth with mild amusement. Apparently he had hit a soft spot, but at least he was finding out a bit more. The woman was almost perfect for his plans, and really he would have to make sure to try and keep an eye out for her. It would be fantastic to have someone like this on his side.
Because he was sure that some of the Tulgey on the outside would disagree. And he would just have to but those miserable beings in their place. He somehow managed to keep the smirk on his face as he continued to listen with clear interest in what the woman was saying.
Three years on the Outside? His tail curled in dissatisfaction. "I do hope you achieve your goal before you go insane. Though... I would have to say sanity is overrated most of the time." He chuckled. In reality he was probably a few eggs short of a dozen when it came to sanity. After all he wanted world domination and genocide.

Nellwyn allowed the smirk to slide onto her face again, shifting with fluid grace to a position that allowed her to talk to Lythero but also keep an eye on the comings and goings of the waitresses. She resisted the urge to pounce on one of them. That...may come later. After all, she'd already given them more than enough of a chance to behave themselves...and she didn't believe in second chances. "I have to say I rather agree...then again you can't miss what you've never had," she said lightly, a low purr underscoring her words. Oh, she definitely liked this squirrel...
She hoped Lythero left a way to get in contact when she returned to the Wood. Though she wanted the pleasure of taking Scrooge down all by herself, she'd be more than happy to share in her good fortune after being finally free. "I will...I'll make sure of it...no cage can hold me forever," she said breathlessly, eyes burning with feverish excitement at the thoughts of everything she'd do, everything she'd say...and the curses half muttered under her breath, only uttered to unhearing walls and doors, would be shouted full in the old Duck's face...right before she killed him and took his money. It was perfect!

Oh, if Lythero had know of her plans he probably would have squealed with joy. The idea of completely destroying an Outsider was just one of those things that made him happy. As it was he remained cheerful with a smirk on his face. He was actually enjoying this quite a bit.
Perhaps he would be lucky and find a few more of his own kind on the Outside to help with his effort. He just needed to solve a few problems first. The squirrel one being the biggest. He just had to do something about it. How was he supposed to inspire his people when he was a short feminine squirrel woman. And he honestly didn't want to think about that hideous human form. Of course he just had to pick someone was the girliest girl of the Wood.
"I'll have to leave you with some contact information then, herm? I wouldn't want to miss the celebration of your freedom."
Their tea had finally arrived. The woman set down both the cups and the pot in the center for them to pour as much as they wanted. She hurried off before either of them could ask any questions.
Lythero picked up his cup, carefully sniffing the tea. It smelled fine. He took a sip of it only to cringe. "This is not proper tea."

The smile on Nellwyn's face was positively devilish, eyes dark as she dreamed once again of that glorious day...oh, the blood, spilling out onto the gold of his vault and the white of his feathers...she might even take one or two as a souvenir...along with as much gold as she could manage to carry. She might have to find a mage to enchant some item for her...or find a Club who could shift it...but no, she'd much prefer to work alone. Less chance of being traced that way, because oh, the panic and the ruckus over the death of McDuck! And him so rich and with no heir to take over for him!
She looked at Lythero, still with some of the blood lust in her eyes, still with that manic grin...and nodded. "Oh, yes, it will be a wonderful, glorious day...and the sun will rise red in the morning, and the wailing in the streets will reach the distant mountains, and the blood will wash away the evidence...[/b][/color]" She shook her head, and her face assumed the slightly absent, pleasant expression once more. "That sounds delightful. I would love to get in contact with you again."
She perked up as the tea finally arrived, giving the waitress another sunshiny smile, and then adding two lumps of sugar to the stuff. She frowned a bit at Lythero's expression. "That bad, hm?" She sipped at it, the frown staying, but not deepening. "I've had worse, sadly...so many people do not know how to make good tea, even after they've been doing it for years." She shook her head in disbelief and delicately sipped a bit more. At least she didn't have to make it. When she thought of it that way it seemed...decent, at least.
