Lythero would remember that promise. Hopefully it wouldn't take her too long to unchain herself from the invisible force that she seemed to be tying her to the Highlands. It was clear that she hated this place as much as he did, so whatever was keeping her must have been an amazingly good reason.
He couldn't help but smile. Red was so beautiful on white. If only he could keep this picture forever. It was a shame.
"I suppose we could just find someone's garden or find some sort of well." He glanced down at the blood that was starting to cake in his fur. He was half tempted to just switch into human form... though he didn't want to deal with this woman's stupidly frilly dress and bright pink bow. That would just ruin the mood even more than being a fluffy little squirrel.

"Yes, that would be best," Nellwyn said briskly, glancing at the sky to check how late it was getting. It wouldn't due to be out later than Scrooge, after all...though the stupid Duck would probably eat up wholesale whatever stupid excuse she could come up with. He generally did. And to think he considered himself an excellent judge of character. Ha! Oh, she'd show him...she'd show him just what it meant to deal with Tulgies.
Luckily, it only seemed to be late afternoon, so the Feline pushed that particular worry from her mind. The talk of wells put her in mind of the one she'd been at earlier that day, staring in and trying to decide whether it would be worth it to try her luck. Without meaning to, her pink eyes strayed in that direction...and, as luck would have it, fell on their salvation.
"Lythero...I think I know the perfect place." She started off at a loping half-run, ears perked forward...heading right towards one of those fancy little public/private pools. They never had very good magical security, though, and were closed this time of year. The pools themselves would be drained and covered, but there was the little shower rooms before you got in them. Perfect.

Lythero wasn't particularly concerned over being covered in blood when there was no one around. It really did look lovely. Perhaps he should have taken the time to skin a bit off of that woman? Her fur was a lovely shade even if it was tainted by those blasted swirls....
He was looking around and seeing absolutely nothing familiar. He was snapped out of his thoughts when the woman spoke. Oh, she had found something that fast? The squirrel's tail twitched curiously as she broke into a run. He followed suit, taking the widest gate he could to follow her.
It looked to be a pool that was covered up. He wrinkled his nose at the thought of a pool. They were something that didn't exist in the Wood that he knew of and with it covered up he had no idea what the woman was thinking. It hadn't occurred to him that there might be a place for someone to take a shower after swimming around in chemical filled water.

Nellwyn had been so long out of the Wood that it didn't occur to her Lythero would never have seen a public pool before. She herself had always avoided them like the plague; too many other Cards and too many chemicals and -children-...ugh. Besides, her long, silky fur took forever to dry, and she hated the feeling of being wet, so swimming was never something she found fun.
She didn't mind being covered in blood herself, but once she got back 'home', well...there would be awkward questions if she showed up looking like she just stepped off of a battle field. She walked right past the pool itself, and into the little building beside it, picking the lock with a claw in less time than it probably took most people to open an unlocked door. Pushing it open, her tail swished in satisfaction as she nodded toward a fairly fancy little shower set up, with dividers and everything.
"Queens first," she offered, pink eyes gleaming.

Lythero was a little surprised by the skilled lock picking combined with what was behind the door. Showers? Why would you take a shower after being in a body of water? Outsiders were terribly strange when it came down to it.
He looked at the feline with a smirk. "Why thank you, you're terribly kind," he said in a cheerful squeaky voice. One day he was going to get that fixed. Hopefully sooner rather than later. The squirrel walked into the little room, picking the closest shower.
Perhaps he should switch to that horrible human form? It might be easier to clean off the blood that way. No fur... but then again he didn't want to be seen in that horrible dress with a bright pink bow. His nose wrinkled in thought as he flicked on the water.
He had mostly gotten the blood on his hands, but some cast off had splashed into his fur in the most awkward of places. A small sigh escaped him as the hot water ran over his fur and he started scrubbing. He would have to take the human form to make drying off easier at least.

In response, Nellwyn gave Lythero a bright smile, and once the squirrel passed her she would let the door shut behind them. They'd have no real way to lock it again, but that was all right since by the time anyone noticed, the two Tulgies would be long gone. She made her way gracefully into the second shower, pawing at the knob until it turned on, and purring as not only was it working, but the water was still hot, too! Since this wouldn't take long, she was sure both her and Lythero could finish up before they ran out of wonderful hot water.
At home, if she wanted hot water she had to do it the old fashioned way, with fire or hot rocks to heat her bath. Not because the mansion didn't have the capability and the plumbing to deal with hot water, oh no, but because Scrooge, true to his name, was usually too cheap to pay the extra money it took to get hot water for anything but washing dishes. She would suspect he was holding out on the servants and keeping all the hot water for his own baths, but she knew for a fact the crazy Duck actually liked cold baths. Guh. As if water wasn't bad enough in the first place, cold water was even worse!
Nell had managed to get blood all over her long fur, and so as much as she didn't like getting wet, she had to in order to get it all off. Luckily, it hadn't fully dried yet, and so with a bit of scrubbing it easily washed away, and she watched the red mix with the clear water and flow down the drain...feeling a surge of triumph and delight as she let herself remember where the blood had come from. She could only imagine the faces of whoever next walked into that sorry little tea shop, and she allowed herself a small cackle at the thought.

He shut off the water when it finally ran clear. Apparently he had a lot more blood on him than he had originally thought, which was such a wonderful sort of revelation. It almost made him feel better about switching to his hideously girly human form.
Almost.
He sighed as the water dripped from his hair, it was easier to ignore that he was wet in this form, and he didn't look like an utterly ridiculous wet rat. Vermin. The longer he thought about possessing this body, the more it seemed like he should have waited. However, now he wasn't in constant pain, and he could roam freely without that blasted Ace.
He slipped out of the shower, glancing in the direction of the feline. He would wait until she was finished before he made any attempt to leave. She was nice enough that he would definitely look her up in the future. He might as well make a good last impression before they parted ways.

It would be another few minutes after Lythero got out that Nellwyn shut off the water...satisfied that her fur was totally clean. She made a face at the fact she was now sopping wet, and it felt like she was carrying twice her weight around in water, making her steps less graceful than normal, and her large, fluffy tail droop behind her. If she were the type to care more about looks, she would have been upset that the Queen was going to see her like this, but the side of Nell that was currently in control found far more important things to be worried about, and the fact that she was no longer going to be showing up back home covered in blood was enough to keep her 'nicer' side quiet on the subject.
She stepped out of the shower, smiling at seeing Lythero there...and in a human form? Well! She...er...he? was already doing quite well to have all forms, though she had to resist the urge to snigger at the girly pink bow. She instead just looked up with a smile.
"I believe this is to be where we part ways." She led the way out of the room and past the pool again as she spoke, shivering a bit as the outside air touched her wet fur and glad of the sun that was still high enough in the sky to warm her slightly. "It's been...a pleasure. And I do so hope we will meet again after my...current problems are solved." Flicks some water out of her ear, seeming casual now about Scrooge and her servitude to him.

Lythero was thrilled that the woman refrained from laughing at him. If she had he might actually have to rethink their mutual understanding of each other. He couldn't help but smile down at her when she commented. Cat's didn't look all that impressive when they were wet.
"I'm afraid you're quite right," Lythero said as he brushed his fingers through his damp hair. "I do hope that your problem is solved soon."
He gave the woman a graceful bow and a smile before heading on his way. Now he had to find a little hotel after a bit of traveling to the right location. At least he had had a lovely stop, herm? It certainly made things much brighter. There was hope for his dreams, and there were still Tulgey who weren't corrupted by the Outsiders.
Hopefully the damn mage had a solution to his problem. Then everything would be right in the world.

" And yours as well," she replied, referring to the fact he was currently female and a Squirrel. She knew she'd hate to be forced into the body of a prey animal. It would be so much weaker, so much less...satisfying. She gave him a slight bow, a smirk, and then turned on her heel and walked back in the direction of home. Slowly, as to let the sun dry off as much of her fur as possible, though she wasn't worried about showing up at home wet. She could just spin a story for the fool Duck about an accident while watering the rosebushes in front of the mansion, and he'd eat it up like a ravenous wolf when presented with a steak. Mmm, steak...perhaps she'd have to cook that tonight. As much as she hated cooking, at least it meant she got to decide what to have for meals. Her thoughts on the walk were mostly occupied by Lythero, though, and even as her 'nicer' personality slipped back into control, pretending that the tea shop incident hadn't happened and getting ready to cook dinner cheerfully, she was still hoping the 'poor, lost' Squirrel found the mage 'she' was seeking. ((and...done? ))
