Lucius had to fight of his smirk as the Corvie seemed to actually have a small inner battle about introducing himself... and when he'd spat it all out, there was no title. Perhaps he'd been wrong? Not a titled member of the Court? Or perhaps he just intended to remain deliberately secretive while in this filth hole?
Whatever the case, he would go along with what he had so far.
"Lucius Malfoy." He offered no hesitance, but spoke his name with a lofty sort of presence which just screamed 'everyone should know and worship that name'. In his section of Tulgey, they did. Gaining that recognition outside of The Wood, however, was mildly harder as most were hesitant to even approach him.
The reputation of Tulgey's was not the best and Lucius's superior arrogance did nothing to fix it.
Of course most peasant filth would turn to cowardice in the face of a Tulgey.
This greasy man, Severus, did not cower before him, but he remained faintly awkward and highly standoffish. Luckily Lucius did not have to shake his hand or anything else before following him away to see what had caught his eye. "It is a rare honor to encounter a fellow intellectual in such a place."

As the man spoke his last name, Severus noded. Oh, he certainly knew who the man was. It was hard not to with the name Malfoy. It had been in some books he had read, a name that went back many generations. A very pure family...with...some...'mixing' of familial blood. Inbreds were always dangerous...no matter how far down the line it was. He would keep it in mind, and pretend as if he didn't know, it was better that way. If he could even possibly pull it off anyway. If he had to...he'd blame the man's region, not that he was afraid of Tugleys...but well...it was a reason.
Even less reason to trust the man though. His family had been noted to be...on the more shadey side of the Alignment scale. Though it made sence as to why he was here...he supposed. It was interesting how much you learned from simply a name. Severus hoped to one day have that effect. In a way...he was jealous of the man before him.
"You flatter me." he said simply to the man's remark. In reality he wasn't quite sure if he was trying to be mocking...or if it was meant to start some sort of conversation. Either way...he wasn't sure if he wanted to give the man what he wanted from such a statement. "I have never seen another Noble come to such a place. Luckily no one ever asks me questions..." he added, and they both knew why. He didn't exactly stick out like a sour thumb amoung the people in the bazaar. Not like Lucius anyway...
He entered another rather dark building, which looked as if it was about to collapse at any moment. Most of the letters on the sign had fallen off...and was fairly unreadible. The only word that could be made out was, "Ptions" which obviously had to be...Potions.

Lucius watched this Snape fellow with a hint of dark curiosity. He was very tersely spoken, something which was good on occasion but entirely too frustrating in others. Most of the time Cards were so happy to get to ramble that they prattled off a good deal of information without any necessity for the Tulgey to pry.
This would not be such an occasion.
At very least he was recognized for the noble he was. His fingers tapped on his cane as he walked, entering the crumbling establishment behind Severus. The sign's announcement of what Lucius figured was 'Potions' was quite intriguing but also expected. Of course this man was from Corvistowne, surely he was some chemical genius like the rest of his lot. "Assumptions are quite droll, but am I correct in believing you're a member of the Court?" Hearts, he hoped. Any other suit was barely worth this much of his time. "I've been interested in getting a foot in the door of the Courts one day."
It would definitely give him a more... Worldly View of things. Much more than he got in The Wood.

The crumbling exterior mirrored the interior, but at the very least...the jars here were in alphabetical order. It sated Severus' OCD to a point, at least enough not to get to flustered as he looked at the different ingredients. He moved quickly around the room, stopping at a small section that had a fair amount of Ms. He shook his head a bit and moved quickly once again to be in front of a bunch of Fs....still, he didn't seem to find what he was looking for, and his eyes narrowed, before he turned to face the man following him around. His question was a bit uncomfortible...but luckily...this shopkeep seemed to have the same manners as the last, and they were alone in the shop.
"I wouldn't throw such questions around like that in a place such as this..." he stated softly, looking outside the dirty shop window and seeing no one outside within hearing distance. "I was once...now I simply live there. I was one of Serafino's Kings." he said the last bit with a certain amount of pride. A lot of people knew of Serafino, he had ruled for a very long time...longer then that poor Rai had...killed by his son no less. Mephit, and Heilyn, had let him know of the news. He hadn't even flinched.
No...the change of ruling just made him worry he was not going to be able to live in the Palace anymore. He would have to speak to the new queen...

Lucius strolled almost lazily after the other male, sticking close though not so close as to be overly interested. He had his own agenda, after all, and his quick red eyes darted from one item to another as he moved. Alphabetized ingredients definitely made his task much easier, but not quite easy enough to find what he was looking for.
Too obscure perhaps?
Severus appeared to be faring no better.
When the man turned back, keeping his voice soft, Lucius merely smirked and inclined his head. True enough, it might be troublesome for a member of the Court to be found there, but Severus dressed the part to be trolling such an area. Lucius simply had the benefit of Connections and those halted the travel of rumors pretty quickly in one way or another.
Nevertheless, Lucius got what he was looking for. If he was once Serafino's King -- a name even he knew -- and now he merely lived there, then he was easily still a King but at least he was a Heart. It made sense enough, Snape didn't seem to have what it took to be a Queen presently. "I see... A prestigious title, indeed. If you'd be willing, we can continue this conversation more privately." Lucius kept his tone equally low. With an off handed flip of his gloved hand, Lucius continued in a more conversational tone. "Any better luck in here?"

He knew the Malfoy was now properlly interested in him, if what he said about wanting his foot in was true. Severus would be one good way to do that after all. It just made him question the man's motives more. He simply nodded at the man's suggestion. Really...if he had to talk about such things...He would much rather do it in a place were there wasn't such a large chance of ears catching their words. "That would be best."
He took one more look around before sighing with annoyance. "I'm afraid not. The ingrediant I require might be to contrevertial even for a slum such as this..." he said, his voice still soft as he lead the man out of the building. Truth be told, he wasn't quite sure he liked this man following him around like a shadow, but he supposed if the man wasn't going to move quickly he would. "Where would you prefer to take this?" he asked finally as they wandered down the street. He assumed the man hadn't found what he was looking for either...but he made no comment on it.

Lucius was definitely intrigued.
The other King both had an interest in unconventional 'chemistry' and had served a prestigious roll in the Courts. Lucius had found exactly the 'meal ticket' he'd been looking for, even if his other endeavors had failed due to the pitiful quality of this 'black market'.
"The ingredient I'm searching for is no better, I'm afraid... To think that such a well-traveled and underhanded market would not have such simple things. Whatever the case, I'll just have to get my hands on a professional peddler." The snake scoffed before his serpentine eyes flicked to Lucius once more. "I have a room at an Inn in the City proper, if you'd like to accompany me. The privacy is adequate."
Lucius motioned vaguely in the direction of his hotel, curious to see how Severus would take his offer. He intended to get what he wanted out of this, even if it took a little coercing on his part.

"Law Enforcement must be cracking down. It would explain the limited selection." he said off handedly, before looking in the direction that the man had pointed to. He wasn't completely sold on being alone with the creature, but he supposed the only way to have privacy would be doing just that. What was he getting out of doing this? He had to ask himself. What could possibly stop him from just...leaving? The truth was that deep down, the man was giving him audience that was honorible in and of itself. The man had a name that Severus dreamed he could have one day. A Known one. Thats what he was getting out of it in the end. "That is fine. Lead the way." he said decidedly.
He felt strange about this, though he knew it was his inability to be trusting more then anything. He really needed to gain some of that back...and sometimes the only way was with a little risk. He continued to walk down the street with the man...silent.

"They do have the most impeccable timing, don't they?" Lucius's tone was thick with displeasure. It was far from uncommon for him to dip into black market dealings -- Inno's 'play dates' were an especially obvious form of this -- and the Law Enforcement only made his work and play harder.
Ah well, it was easy enough to locate the ingredient specifically, even if it did cost a little extra.
The quiet between them lasted without interruption until Severus replied. Lucius would not beg, though he would fall back on underhanded means if entirely necessary. Not that the Malfoy's had ever been known for playing fair. "Wonderful." They were known for almost always getting their way.
With a smug pleasure hanging in the air around him, Lucius began the walk back to his Inn. It was no short walk, as Lucius had no intention of sleeping in the slums, but the area was considerably nicer and the Inn was properly lavish. Living in style. His room was no less impressive and Lucius motioned Severus toward an arm chair while he remained standing. "Is there anything I can get you, Mr. Snape?"

"Law Enforcement tends to have unfortunate timing...So I've expreienced in the past..." After all...is that not why he had gotten sick before? Well...he wouldn't make the same mistake again. He certainly wouldn't be troopsing off to suits knew where to get fresh ingredients. Those days were very much over. Yet, it still meant he needed to get his Blood somewhere....He didn't like all the alternatives he was being given. He just wasn't that kind of man...despite whatever his exterior might infer.
Severus was uncomfortible with the aura around the man. This didn't seem to make any difference however, because in the end he was still following him to the Inn he was staying in. It was a long walk, but when they arrived Severus took note of his surroundings. It made him feel like he was in the palace again, and some part of him felt more at home, though now he did stick out like a sore thumb.
Severus took the chair indicated, slowly sinking into it's plush seat, sitting with posture that was stiff...but very much a nobleman stance. He watched the human, before shaking his head. No...he didn't trust strangers enough for that. As it was...sitting in this chair was already an endangerment. He tried to sniff it without seeming to obviously paranoid, hoping he would be able to trace something....well...actually...there was something the man could do....
"Nothing to eat or drink, thank you...but...could you prehaps open the windows? It is a bit hot in here..."
Heat meant sweating...if he could avoid doing that...he should be fine....no more poisoning via beds and chairs thank you very much...
