"Mao?"The Ace wandered helplessly in the Wood. He and his master had been separated by a jubjub attack. The mentally challenged Ace didn't fully understand the gravity of the trouble he was in. He was lost and alone, a non-Tulgey, in The Wood. He picked up on the general vibe of the place, but never fully understood. "Mao?"Where was Master? She had to be around somewhere, right? Some bushes rustled behind him. He turned awkwardly to face it, half afraid, half hoping it was Master. "Mao?"

((All other cannibals! Please feel free to jump in. <3<3)) Such a funny little creature. Catastrophe felt as though she was watching it through a pair of blurry goggles, moving around and looking quite scared, raising quite a fuss. All that noise. It must have been older than them - it was a little bit bigger. It sounded lost, which confused the young girl. Why was it there? Didn't it know this was a dangerous place to be? Even she knew that, on most days. Perhaps it wasn't actually there... But she wasn't sure, not yet. She probably wouldn't be sure until she caught it and felt her claws on it. Maybe she could taste it, too. Just a little, just enough to see if it filled her belly. Then she would know. And then she could get her brothers. They were probably hungry, too. If this little kitten-creature was real, it would fill all of their bellies. It had been a long time since she'd last eaten something really tasty... Her butt wiggled in anticipation as she crept forward, trying her best to keep quiet. If she messed this one up, her siblings would never forgive her. Muscles bunched and Cat launched herself forward, beak opened wide to grab onto the slightly larger feline mix, talons ready to grip and rend at flesh. Hopefully this was happening. She was starting to get excited.

For a long minute, he was afraid he was lost. Separated from his kin. But! The power of their love could guide them back together! He believed in this desperately. Because they loved him just as much as he loved them. It was destiny, it was life. He had been so certain that his special Someone was calling him, sending him their special messages, telling him he was loved. Captain Underwood was surely seeking him, because the Captain loved Hereli ssoooooo much! It was the way things-- "Mao?"The Eight's head jerked up, his nostrils flaring tightly. That sounded like. . .a kitten. His stomach growled at him, reminding him that he'd missed the last kitten he had leapt for. Maybe he could catch it! Maybe he could share! Though he didn't think his siblings liked the younger meat as much as he. But, still. They loved each other and must share. He began to stalk through the woods, looking for the creature when he, instead, found his sister, leaping! He trotted after her curiously.

Something was making noise and it wasn't one of his siblings because they never made such noises as this made. Fiasco wasn't entirely sure where his siblings were, but maybe they'd hear the noise, too. It fascinated him and he wondered what was making it, so he walked in the direction of the noise. Would it lead him to both his siblings and food? It had to lead him to food. It wasn't related to him and it was making a noise, so it must have a tongue.. oh yes, that sounded delicious. The others could have as much as they wanted as long as he got that. He didn't have problems sharing the rest, but in order to share it he had to catch it. Wouldn't that be a wonderful surprise for when he found them! And he would find them because the thought of not finding them just wouldn't do. I wasn't long before he found himself facing Herelies. Apparently they had come from different directions. However had that happened? Well what did it matter as long as they'd reunited? He looked in the direction his brother was facing just in time to see Catastrophe leap at something. Was it thing that was making the noise? He saw Herelies following her, so Fiasco decided to walk around both of them so he could see what it was she was attacking. If she got it he could help her kill it, but if it ran away at least he was in a different direction it could run and could maybe stop it if it tried to get away.

As usual, Cal wasn't far from his brothers and sister. Walking through the dark forest was always an adventure, today was no different. He stuck close to the others, although the heavy brush made it easy to lose sight of one another even when they were mere yards apart. Hmm, it seemed like Cat saw something, for the girl's often unfocused eyes had gone wide.
"Oooh, what is THAT?" As he caught sight and scent of the little Feline something strange and powerful came over him. It was a desperate burning desire to taste, to rip... just a little bit of that funny cat-creature's flesh. His eyes flashed strangely and his voice came out a disturbing hiss. "I want it!" he cried savagely.
That tasty, tasty thing, whatever it was, would be his. He could almost taste it already, but Cat was springing on the creature without hesitation. Normally, he had no trouble sharing meat with his siblings, but something, something he couldn't quite define made this time different. He couldn't let this... this Special Meat get away from him! It was his, and it wouldn't do to let Cat get it all to herself. She could have some, of course, but he needed to taste this creature, wanted it more than anything in that moment.
With a snarl, he followed his sister into the fray. "MY food-meat!"

"Mii?" Waffles blinked and stared at the moving lump in the bushes. Then, it attacked him. He tried to run, but having only one back leg slowed him. As soon as talons made contact, he crumpled mostly out of fear. He yowled and sometimes screamed as he flailed, trying to get away.
"M-M-MASTER!" he screamed one of the handful of words he actually knew. Tears began streaming down his cheeks and desperate sobs made themselves heard in between terrified screams. Then more made themselves visible! All of the same one. All exactly the same. The similar appearance of them only adding to his terror and confusion. His throat stung from the violent noises that ripped through it.

They all appeared in a rush, a flurry of off-white fur and gold and red-streaked talons. It was bizarre when seen through Cat's eyes - the odd out-of-focus of the rest of the world suddenly punctuated by the appearance of her siblings, all targeting the same prey. It made her heart soar.
Even better than the familial presence was the feeling of soft, warm under her talons, and she scrabbled for a better hold. It was real! Real and trying to escape, screaming a scream that hurt her ears, and she let out one of her own - an infuriated falcon's call. "TSSSSEEEEEER!" She felt her claws puncture flesh as they finally worked their way through fur. This prey was damaged, with only one leg! That made her mad. It meant that the rest of them would have less to eat, even after they went through all the effort of catching something!
She was only dimly aware of the fact that her brother - her normally so-sweet brother, her Cal, was screaming at her. Her ears pulled back and she hissed angrily at him, sightless-looking eyes narrowed to slits. "STOPPIT! Cal, this is OUR food-meat!" She tried to pin the Ace down with her body, fur and feathers standing on end, her tail completely fluffed out. "'sides, I found it!" To try and give this claim more weight, she wrapped a talon around the kitten-mix's forearm, gripping on tightly.

The cannibal blinked in surprised to see Fiasco right there, but he smiled and waved a wing awkwardly at his brother before the Jack moved around to flank their prey.
Herelies gaped his mouth happily at the sight of the kitten now pinned by Cat. Cal's viciousness, however, surprised the Eight right off the prey. His ears flattened and he dropped his body to the ground. "No more yelling!" he put in his two cents loudly as well. "We haf to LOVE EACH OTHER!" He cared far more about their love than about even food. Though the kitten did smell yummy.
He lifted his head enough to poke at one of the Ace's legs; no bites! He didn't want to anger Cal. It didn't seem to have a lot of meat, though it would certainly still taste very yummy. Food was always yummy. Especially the younger food.

One moment they were attacking, the next everything was all sorts of confusing. Fiasco hadn't even managed to attack the creature before he came sliding to a stop and his siblings were all yelling at each other. Cal wanted the food for himself apparently, and if they weren't going to share it then Cat seemed to think it was all hers.
He was about to ask if he couldn't just have the tongue, that they wouldn't even miss it, but Herelies was yelling something about love and the food itself was screaming something about a master. Did that mean they weren't alone? Was it going to get away in the mist of all this noise?
"Can't we all juss stop yellin'?!" he snapped, but more annoying than the yelling was the shrill noises the meat was making. Fiasco hissed viciously at the screaming creature in an attempt to make the noisy thing be quiet himself. "Cat can't'cha make it shut up so we can figure it out?! All this noise's not gonna do nothin'!"

The angry cries of his siblings anchored Cal in reality a bit more, and the feral gleam in his eyes subsided somewhat. He loved Cat dearly and was a little shamed by the almost frightened look on her face. When he spoke, it was softly, a bit sheepishly, although still with a strange urgency. "Yes-yes, alright. We share." His tongue snaked out to lick the edges of his beak.
"Gives Fi the tongue, yes?" He attempted a conciliatory tone. Herelies was right, they couldn't fight. They needed each other if they were to survive. He knew that, the enormous importance of his family. Still, Cal was on edge, his longing for the creature in Cat's paws going far beyond simple hunger.
Besides, the Ace was yowling loudly, probably attracting the attention of all sorts of beasts too dangerous for the children to take down, even with their combined strength. The wood was a bad, bad place to have a loud family discussion, or to let noisy prey flail around, spreading the scents of fear and blood. "S-so loud... Kill it, brothers, sister, before it makes the mean-bad ones come. Then we all..." He made a little sound, half purr, half growl. "Eats it..."
Strangely, Calamity found himself trembling with the effort of controlling his hunger and the blinding desire rising in his mind. The instinct to hunt, to take and rip and tear and not share with anyone was very strong... but he was outnumbered, he could never hurt his siblings, and at least for now his mind kept a tenuous upper hand to his cannibal urges.
