Tabby liked telling stories, but she didn't like lying. That was such an ugly word. Mommy tried to teach her the difference once and she got a little confused, because she couldn't quite tell his turning into other people as if he were that person and his telling a lie apart. Eventually he just shrugged, said that everybody probably did it differently, and licked her head. When Castiel spoke up again, she froze. Literally, froze in place mid-sway and mid-flap and mid-breath. Then she swung around and leaned to the side, staring at the human with wide golden eyes. "If you buy that for me, I will be indebted to you for life," she said in her absolute most serious tone. And she meant it, oh yes, as fervently as a little girl could possibly mean anything. "Mommy works in the Bazaar all the time. He delivers stuff. I'm here a lot. It's really busy for that kind of thing. And I'm in here for hours sometimes. I bet if you even had specific days or something, he could set up to bring me here for those." Oh, she wanted Marnie. Ohhh, she wanted her! At least then she'd have someone to talk to besides the mean old ghost in the alley below when she 'spaced out' at home. And Marnie would have someone to talk to, too. She clutched her hands behind her back and tried not to show that they had started to tremble a little.

For life huh? That was a pretty sweet deal. Especially since the doll didn't take away all of her money in one go. It was actually rather... "cheap." Then again the concept of cheap and expensive wasn't something Castiel paid much attention to. If she wanted it and it was the amount of money she had, she would buy it. That's how things worked.
She put the doll under her arm for safe keeping. "I'm going to buy this for you. But before I pay for it I need to find something else for my brother and sister. Um... do you know where some other soft stuffed animals are?"
It was nice to have someone who knew their way around who wasn't an adult. She didn't have to feel silly getting one and asking them where things were. And Tabby was someone she could make friends with.

Tabby's eyes followed the little toy soldier's path from the shelf to Castiel's arms with delight. She didn't bother to restrain a happy whimper, too excited by the prospect of having such a wonderful toy - and a wonderful friend like Marnie - with her at home. "Anything you want that I can do, I'll do," she promised again earnestly, nails digging into her palm as she tried not to swing her arms around in her joy. The question caught her slightly off-guard and she blinked, considering. There were stuffed animals in various places throughout the shop, depending on what type you were looking for. Most were located near the left wall. She snapped her fingers and grinned, teeth pulling back further than was necessary as she mimicked her Mommy. "Best place for soft stuffies is over past the dolls. C'mon!" And she trotted off down the isle, little birdy claws clacking with every step.

Castiel followed, her shoes virtually soundless compared to the clacking of the talons. When they arrived at the section dedicated to stuffed animals Castiel found herself slightly overwhelmed. There were quite a few choices and most of them were utterly adorable. Being a girl as young as she was she couldn't think about what was practical for her siblings.
She picked up one of the closet ones. It was a large octopus plushie that felt like velvet. The good thing about her siblings was that they would share with her, so anything that was for them did make its way to her eventually. "Do you think this is cute?" she said to the other girl. Maybe she could find a squid too, and then a small stuffed animal for herself? She might have enough money for all of this. She would have to double check before she decided anything.

Tabby eyed the soft, squishy plush with a critical eye. Then she grinned and nodded her head enthusiastically. "It's very cute. I'd even go so far as to call it 'super cute'. Look at all the little squiddly legs! They're so fat and puffy, I dunno how it could swim. Maybe it flies or something. But I don't know how an octopus would swim anyway, so maybe not. So long as it doesn't swim away, I think you're good."
Her eyes kept flicking from the plush held aloft to the soldier held tucked against Castiel's side. Some part of her was still having trouble believing that the other girl would buy it for her. Another part of course believed that she would, and marveled at how awesome this day would turn out, and how the shopkeep would support her when she told Mommy that she hadn't stolen it, it was just hers and she could take it home with her! Then she could play with Uncle Kieran and her friend together.

Castiel blinked a bit at the girl's comment. She looked to the little plushie, which stared back at her with very blank bead eyes. Yeah, right, swim away. She would like to see that. Maybe she would keep this one for herself. Squeezing it with her free arm she decided that she would do that exactly.
"Do you want to hold this since I have to pick a few more things out?" She offered Tabby the solider toy. She had faith that the other girl would still help her find some other things. She had two more things to buy, one for her brother and one for her sister.
What to get her siblings? She grabbed a random plushie off the shelf. It was a small black cat with plush flowers behind its ear. This was cute. Her sister was a cat. This could work pretty well for her. "What... do you think a boy would like to play with?" she asked suddenly.

Tabby's eyes refocused on the soldier and she very carefully, almost reverently, held out her arms. "I. Would. Love. To." As soon as she had Marnie's little haunted incarnation in her arms, she hugged it carefully and followed after - or rather, danced around - Castiel with little ticks of her excited clawed feet on the hard wooden floor.
She paused in her excitement to twist around and peer at the row of toys. Then she blinked, and thought, and stared around herself. "Um. I don't have any brothers. Buuut I live with all my uncles. The one just likes sunshine and games. The one likes drinks. And Mommy likes people. So none of them really have toys. I've seen lots of boys in here before, though. Lots of them like the toy weapons. Especially Hearts. Like me!"
With a proud little grin, she was off babbling again. "Mommy says that we have lots of Hearts in our family and that my Daddy was a Heart and that both of his own parents were Hearts, and both of Daddy's too, so there's just Hearts-Hearts-Hearts in our family! Both my Uncles are Hearts, and Mommy says loooots of my relatives are. And that's part of why we stay away, because Mommy says Hearts hold the best grudges ever and sometimes misunderstand things and attack first when they should maybe listen to people talk a little bit instead, but I don't attack first, I always talk first! Although I should listen more. Maybe. Mommy says. So I try."

Dancing? Well that was a good sign. Castiel giggled a bit as she squeezed the soft stuffed animal she was holding. She had made a very interesting friend, hadn't she? She watched as the girl came to a stop to stare at the toys.
So she was from a long line of Hearts too? The yarrow squeezed the doll a little tighter. She was the only child in her huge family who happened to be a diamond, and her Mommy was the only other diamond. Every single one of her siblings was a Heart, and honestly she felt left out. Though she had decided that as soon as she was "old enough" she would approach both her parents and convince them to let her learn how to handle weaponry.
Actually she was constantly bothering them right now. So eventually she would win their favor.
"Toy weapons are a really good idea.... I could get one for my sister too since she's a Heart too and has her bipedal form. Do you think she would like an axe like my Daddy?" Not like she would be able to find something like that. "And... I don't know about Hearts holding grudges. My Daddy's really forgiving."

Weapons seemed like a good present idea for lots of people. Tabby grinned and nodded eagerly. "Oh yeah, axes are neat! They're so big, but they look like they can bring a lot of hurt an' stuff. Probably not a good idea to get her a really sharp one? Just in case she ever gets really angry. But a toy one would be great. I know they sell some wooden weapons here, but there are more in the weapons shop 'cause there's an area just for kids, but I only went in there once and Mommy said I'd have to find a stick to use as a wooden sword instead because we couldn't afford a toy one so I did."
She took a second to breathe from her enthusiastic babble and hugged the soldier closer without thinking much about it. "I hope my Daddy is too. I wanna meet her someday. Mom says she's really pretty, and I got my Torquehelm from her and my Highland from him, so that's how I'm not as pale as him or my Uncles since both of them are Highlands too."

Castiel only caught half of what the girl was saying as she was looking at the various shelves. Toys were terribly distracting, more so when she wanted to find something that was "perfect." Weapon shops. She could go to one after this maybe? But she wasn't very good at that sort of thing. She only really liked swords and her parents were so hesitant to let her play with such things. She had to learn everything the hard way after all.
"Your Daddy's a Torquehelm too?" she said absently as she pulled something off the shelf. It was a small axe and actually rather plush. The thing squeaked when she tapped it on her arm. Well, her brother might like that actually. Maybe she could get her sister something more... hand orientated? She slipped the toy under her arm. "One more thing and then we can pay for everything!"
It was a big store though. And there were quite a few things she could get for her sister. "Do they have play jewelry here?"
