Merlin particularly liked his new house in the Capital; it was in a nice area of town but at the same time wasn't too busy. He was even beginning to become fond of his neighbors. A lot of the crazy lot were Corvies so they were -very- good at minding their own business, which is exactly what the Joker needed. One of the best things about this side of town though, is that he could actually take part in the festivities of Hallow's Eve. Though he had no children of his own, but that didn't mean he wanted nothing to do with him. It was the exact opposite actually; he liked to think he could contribute to the happiness of children in a way that would compensate for his own particularly crappy one. He'd even carved multiple pumpkins and lit them up with candles to put on his doorstep to let every Trick or Treater know that his house was okay to approach. With a big bowl of candy ready (and Archimedes nearby if he had to deal with a particularly malicious trickster) he donned his costume. Having bought an old lab coat from a neighbor Corvie, he had rolled it around in some red food dye for the bloodstained look, buttoning it up to his neck and popping the collar for an even more sinister effect(Or Greaser effect, whatever your perception is). He topped it all off by putting on gloves and putting a fake butcher knife on his belt. Wahaha! Only the bravest of children would be able to partake of Merlin's candy!! He cackled maniacally! ((This is pretty much just rp, but I intend to buy some items to pass out quite belatedly down the road.. just little trinkets I'm afraid ^_^; but hey, this is just supposed to be fun! Please follow posting rules of 150 words. Children can come and get candy.. hell. Even your adults can try if you don't have kids, but I'd suspect being dressed up in something interesting would help.))

(Need to get Bertram to meet more people ) Wow, what a mean person. He had the nerve to make fun of him over a simple mistake. How was he supposed to know that man hadn't celebrated Halloween. He had put out Jack-o-lanterns so he had figured That he must've been passing out candy. Well never mind that he didn't really want to let one sour man put down his Halloween Spirit. Adjusting his candy bucket in his mouth in a way that was more comfortable he continued down the cobble streets. This year he had gone as a pirate with a red bandanna, button up shirt, and a plastic cutlass. Not the best costume he had made but it would do. Then something caught his attention. "Wow". Those were the most artistic Jack-o-lanterns he had come across yet. He just had to stop up at that house. So toward the house he went. The Pumpkins looked even greater up close. Approaching the door he gave 3 small knocks. Then through a slightly open mouth he managed, "Trick Or Treat."

Quickly adjusting his outfit, Merlin hurried his way to the door, tail wagging behind him with barely contained excitement as he opened the door...
He was.. a bit old to be trick or treating wasn't he? Still... it was a Midori in a pirate outfit. Did he even have to dress up or is that what he wore all the time? Merlin's mouth split into a huge grin, letting out a bark of laughter at the sight. Aha.. but nothing was more amusing than stereotypes! The man looked so innocent despite his age, with that trick or treat bucket in his mouth. His chuckles subsiding, he looked down at the young man with a broad grin.
"A pirate! I love it!" Grabbing a handful of candy, and some sort of trinket, he dumped it into the canine's bowl with a smile. "Well, it's good to see people in the spirit. You have a good night!"
((I'll pm you the trinket when I eventually get the chance to buy them XD <33))

Remi wasn't the most social of kids, but he was definitely in the mood for some candy. After a little bit of work he'd managed to locate all the proper attire and was out on the street as a dashing vampire complete with a high-collared cape and a strange white mask he'd found in a dumpster in the Outer Bazaar. He looked awesome, if he could say so himself. So he wandered the streets, staying just far enough away from other trick-or-treaters that he wouldn't be noticed by them but close enough that he wouldn't look like an unwatched 10-year-old. The pumpkins attracted a great deal of attention, but so did the fact that this was an area with a lot of Corvie's his pretend group skittered past but Remi's curiosity stuck. Remi was pretty experienced with Corvies though, so he saw no harm in checking to see if this fancy decorator had anything worth his while. Taking the bucket into his middle set of legs, Remi propped up on his hind legs and knocked cheerfully on the door with his front paws. "Trick or treat!" He chimed in the perfect mimic of a careless ten year old.

Merlin all but skipped his merry way to the door, opening it up with that huge, toothy grin of his. A sucker stuck out of his mouth, since he'd shamelessly started snacking on treats while waiting for kids to stop by. Now, Merlin wasn't usually one for sweets, but no one can resist eating a piece when it's sitting there right in front of you, right?
"Oh goodness! You've about scared me to death, o' creature of the night!" Merlin exclaimed, putting a hand to his chest in mock fright. He laughed, reaching for the bowl next to him and grabbing a handful of candy and a trinket.
He glanced down the street at the children walking away and assumed that was the group was who the boy was traveling with; he'd hate to think such a (seemingly) merry and young child would be out alone. "There you go! Now catch up with your group now; it's not good for children to travel alone."

Score. Remi knew he'd hit a jackpot when the man opened the door with a theatrical hand to his chest. Remi knew he wasn't that scary, he was only ten, but he enjoyed the enthusiasm. As usual, he maintained his cheerful youthfulness and grinned nice and wide for the man.
"Thanks! Your costume's great too!" He laughed even as his eyes trained to the shiny thing the man plopped in with his candy. OOo, what was that? Before he could look he noticed the man looking off over his shoulder, looking for parents he bet but from the sound of it he'd already assumed he was still with that other group. Haha, good!
"Don't worry, I will! I just had to stop and see who had all these awesome jack-os! Thanks again!" Then he took the bucket back into his mouth and fell to all six paws in order to run-hop after the group as quickly as his little paws would carry him.

Ah! Hallow's Eve. The perfect excuse to adjourn bizarre clothing and, rather than receive looks questioning her sanity, have people smile and compliment her! The pine marten had felt brilliant when she thought up her costume, and even more so as she created it. Aima walked around the Capital sporting a long, but plain, green dress that looked to be made of a tarp. On her head was a strange contraption made of glass and green metal rods fused together in the shape of a roof of a greenhouse. The 'roof' was closed with a clasp around the metal dish coming from her head. Hanging from her arms were a variety of potted plants, filled with herbs and flowers. This caused her to walk an awkward manner to assure that they would not fall off. As she could not therefore hold her treat bag, which was a pot with a handled hooked into it, it was either that she carried it around in her mouth or make a second contraption to carry it for her. Being a Corvie, she decided for the latter. Now her pot hung out in front of her, hanging off hooks she had rigged to hold on to her shoulders. Now she roamed the Capital looking for places to trick or treat. Not even the sunless sky could dampen her spirits, especially when she came to a house with multiple carved pumpkins. With the candles inside she felt they created a rather dastardly effect, but what could be better for Halloween? Aima may have skipped up to the door had she been capable of such a feat in her costume, but instead she had to live with walking up to it. "Trick or Treat!"

The uncharacteristically cheerful man about swelled with pride when the youngster complimented his costume. It wasn't as elaborate as some, but he certainly enjoyed trying to play a part in the Hallows Eve festivities. Funny, how a normally brooding man turned downright cheerful during one of the spookiest nights of the year!
"Why, thank you young man! Have a good night!" He waved, watching for a few minutes to make sure he got back safely to the group before walking back inside. It was almost enough to make him consider spawning a few of his own.
Not half a moment later, there was a knock on the door. He pivoted on one heel to make his way back, and was met with a feminine, yet mostly grown voice. Goodness.. a lot of adults were getting into the festivities! Well, the girl was young as far as adults went, and that costume! "My my! That's something only a Corvie could come up with I'm sure! Great job." Merlin complimented the woman, grabbing the typical handful of candy and dropping it into the flower pot that hung in the air in front of her. He'd guessed that was where to put the candy only because it already had a few pieces in it.
"Now, off you go before I decide to perform DASTARDLY experiments on you! Woohahahahahahaha! Hoo-hoot!"

( Sorry for late reply wasn't planning on a 2nd reply but Bertram wouldn't shut up D:)
As Bertram sat there in the doorway happily wagging his tail listened to the sounds of the approaching footsteps. The door made an eerie shriek as it slowly opened. Bertram was taken back by the mans costume. "Wow what a great costume." Bertram managed in a slightly muffled voice.
"Thank you," he said acknowledging his second question. Bertram watched as the man began to dump the candy into his bucket, but he hadn't noticed the man drop the trinket into it until he noticed that something heavy had been dropped in. It smelt of metal. Hmm.. he wasn't sure if it were accidental, or not. Bertram decided not to say anything about it. Bertram smiled, said thank you again, and finally wished him a Happy Halloween as he made his way down the path back to the road. He felt somewhat guilty upon notice of the trinket and not saying anything, but oh well. Besides he felt like a Pirate.

"Thank you!" The little marten beamed at him as he complimented her costume. Of course only a Corvie! It made her proud to be one in that moment, not that she wasn't proud of it on a daily basis.
She loved his costume as well. A lab coat covered in blood! She wanted one. Blood was always better outside the body than inside! Not that she would say so out loud. People didn't usually agree.. "You've a wonderful costume as well! Utterly bloodcurdling!" She may have felt sorry for the children coming up to the house, but she'd have to think on it more and time was wasting!
Aima was almost tempted to stay to find out what these dastardly experiments were. How dastardly? What experiments? She loved his laughed. It almost made her laugh as well, but she wasn't sure if she was meant to be laughing, too. Instead she decided she should get off and find the next house, tempted as she might be. "Have a good Hallow's Eve!" she exclaimed and ran off to the best of her ability.
