Omg... I can't believe I'm saying this but... I think I'm going to try it.
Having realized that I send about 2 hours a day on a train carrying my laptop, 50,000 words actually seems.... almost feasible!
1,666 words a day, that's like 3-5 of my SoD posts, right? Totally doable *tries to convince self this is going to be okay....*
Maybe I'll do something SoD based, that's pretty good idea. I have no real desire to write 50,000 words about any of my current SDs, but I can totally see writing up a novel of a SoD-style character and then having him/her as a comission later. XD
Keep in mind that I have only ever finished a short story ONCE. In my LIFE. The cause and/or effect of that is that I'm super not confidant in my writing skillz. So this is like.... omg crazy to contemplate.

Sooo... I just signed up a few minutes ago, as "Callypso". It's kind of exciting and makes me nauseous at the same time. I have a million ideas in my mind, but not anything that could be potentially novel-worthy. It's okay, though, since I have a month and a half to think about it... haha.
I used to write poems and short stories or sketch out ideas for comics;etc, but my problem is that I never follow-through with my ideas, so I have a handful of random, forgotten story ideas just lying around. Ugh. Maybe this will help me to actually complete something, lol.
High-five, Harps. We can be each other's newbie cheerleaders!
I'm already looking at the write-ins on my region's forums, so now I just have to muster up the courage to eventually reply and see what that's all about.
Yay for trying new things!

I just signed up, as harpsdesire to make things as easy as possible. I need to validate my account and etc, but I should be all set up soon.
Edit: Yupyup, all set up. Not sure how to add buddies yet though, so that'll happen soon..ish...
More Edit: Actually adding buddies is pretty easy/obvious. All set now!

If I intended to write just a series of thoughts throughout my day, not an actual STORY, then I'm pretty damn sure I could finish again. XD It's just writing the STORY that gets me all stuck...

So just write a series of random thoughts, add a few bits so quasi-semi tie it together (but not in such a way that it makes actual sense) and call it a postmodernist work of anti-fiction. |
