Farran - English name from the French 'Ferrand', meaning "ardent for peace"
ID: SD443
Name: Farran
Suit: Diamond
Rank: Nine
Gender: Male
Animal: Feline
Region: Villa en Miir
Dealer: Callypso
Notes: His words read triggered in blue and temper in pink. He grew up happily on the cliffs of the Villa until he turned 13. His father, an infamous Villa xylophone player was approached by a rival. They fought and killed each other.
His mother, a pure Feline Villa, never recovered, going slightly mad and still in a ward on the cliffs.
He moved to the Capital to try and forget the whole sordid set of events and has an irrational hatred of the arts as a result, with exception to oil paints, which was always his favorite medium.
Basic Magical Ability: He can act charismatic and persuasive at times, whether or not he actually has the natural charm and grace to pull it off.
Moderate Magical Ability: When activated, he can decipher up to two languages of the player's choosing. These languages are in addition to the common tongue and the Diamond house language.
Scalpel Addition: Once a week, he is able to cause the scalpel he so foolishly wields to burn white hot! This helps it to slice more cleanly through bones of Cards ranked 10 or lower and will cauterize the wound afterward! Huzzah! All he has to do, is whisper the word "Saber", and it will burn for a full minute!
Strong Magical Ability: When activated, he can cast a lie-detector spell on a Card of the Suit of Hearts and of a Rank lesser or equal to his own, once per day. Cards of equal Rank would be aware of the spell, but Cards of lesser Rank would not.

Villa en Miir: Residents are usually a light violet with pink and dark blue in complex, thin, script-like markings.
The Villa en Miir is a cliff-side realm with beautiful residents and scenery. They reside on the rocky crags that spring up above Corvistowne, though they tend to detest the unsavory and scatter-brained group that lives below them. The Villa is literally carved into the rock face and those visiting usually request a guide to help ensure they don't tumble off the face of the realm. Trees grow over the side of the crags and give the impression that the Villa en Miir is just a forest growing out of a mountainside, though the constant strain of music that drifts down tells you otherwise. They are fond of jewelry and have a few mines of their own, chiefly diamond, emerald, ruby, and opal; these are constantly exported to the Courts. The residents of the Villa are viewed by most Realms as being quite lovely and they apply themselves to this image. They will often adorn themselves with one stone of choice, usually given to them by their mother once they reach a certain age. Those of the Villa tend to be musical or in some other way artistic, and they dearly love plays, paintings, and concerts. Villa residents do not dislike other realms, but they have a hard time respecting those who don’t appreciate their art. They are often whimsical and love a good story, though they are intelligent and enjoy haughty conversation as much as the next Highlander. The script on the body of a Villa will often dictate an aspect of their personality, though it can be interpreted in many ways. Parents will often agonize over a child’s words and try to see them in the best light before explaining them to their children in order to give them a better spin on their personality…though it doesn’t always work.

Felines: Felines are a common breed. They are found everywhere you look and their lifestyles make it easy for them to stretch themselves to the furthest reaches of the kingdoms. Not to be confused with the Court of Cats (who are the size of a house cat), the Felines of the realm are about the size of tigers and range from sleek Siamese to bulky alley cats in shape.

Diamonds: The Fang
As a rule, Diamonds are uncommon but not too difficult to come by. They are on the upper end of society due to their color, with practically no stigmas against them. A Diamond has respect in society naturally; even if its number is of the lower cast, the fact that it is a Diamond will lift it above the other "lower" cards. Being born as a Diamond is a celebrated event and the child will probably have a happy life regardless of realm or parentage.
The Diamond symbol, the Fang, refers to their cunning and sharp, biting turns of phrase. Their uncanny intelligence and tendency toward snideness and power gives the Suit a reputation for being fangy. The fang is also normally represented a as serpent’s fang; due to their knack with charisma and bribery, they usually revel in their snake-like stereotype.
Basic Magical Ability: All Diamonds can act charismatic and persuasive at times, whether or not they actually have the natural charm and grace to pull it off.

Eight-Nine: Eights and Nines are seen as the well-to-do "middle class" citizens and feel that they are on pretty much the same level as their neighboring Fives, Sixes, and Sevens. Some Nines tend to get ambitious, seeing as the "upper class" of Ten is so tantalizingly close to them. They are sometimes hired as secretaries and other non-labor-intensive jobs within the Courts; many also have the freedom to become heads of trading businesses or popular entertainers.
