Out of respect, and the man's already stated disinterest in his explanation. Parzifal didn't further elaborate on the directions of his study that had led him to more specific knowledge on the nature of the general's curse. Perhaps there would be time later. Possibly not. But everything had led him here, to this place and point in time, and that was enough for now. He very deliberately did not stare at the man, and sat with his hands resting calmly on his thighs. No trembling, as best he could manage, however excited and nervous he may have been. And wasn't he so very glad, now, that his siblings did not appear to be present? That would have been a problem in the making. "I'll certainly do my best, Sir," he murmured, nails curling very slightly into the fabric of his pants. If only Vren had come up the stairs then, the situation might have been diffused slightly. Or at least the wolf... squirrel... man would have been distracted from his mood, perhaps. So he couldn't outright explain his studies yet, and it would be terrifically rude to begin asking about the man's actions or abilities or recent past, so he instead settled on a pertinent but less invasive question. The answer would almost certainly not be mild, but it would hopefully engage. "Obviously the Wood was a different place in your time, and the Tulgey were a different people. The realm's isolation has been compromised on more than one occasion, but the forest does a very good job of keeping to its own." He very carefully had to avoid the word 'our'. He had the strongest feeling that it would be unwelcome. "Are you familiar with the family of the, ah. The Tulgey Queen Femi?"

The wolf hybrid probably would have slapped the human in the face if there was even a hint of "our" in his statements about the Wood. A Half breed had no right to claim ownership of the Wood. Neither did anyone they were related to.
"Obviously," the man said, clearly unimpressed. He sipped his tea with mild agitation. This was going to be a waste of his time. Even if he didn't have anything to do besides plot an uprising he would rather be doing that than dealing with this boy.
At the mention of the Femi his eyes narrowed. He had almost completely obliterated her appearance except for his stupid effeminate face. Everything else with the exception of his talons was wolfish. So apparently this Parzifal had known her or something. Wonderful. "Oh yes. She had that Outsider as a pet. I don't know much about her beyond that." He smiled, though it looked terribly unhinged considering he was remembering the King's death. That had been satisfying at least.

Creepy bastard. Incredibly creepy. And yet, it was like staring into a living history book, to finally meet this man. Parzifal had to repress a shiver. Both terrifying and fascinatingly surreal. "Indirectly, the Queen actually had some small impact on the Outside's perception of the Wood," the crow said quietly, sitting very still to make himself less of a direct target while watching the General closely. "Mostly through her children. She had a very large litter, three of them Tulgeys. One, I believe, died in the Wood. He was vampiric - legitimately. He could only gain nourishment through the blood of others. One is a Jack in the Courts. A very, very lovely wolf, like you wouldn't believe. And one is a Queen, but not in any Court. She makes her presence known throughout the realms. Last I saw, she'd been dabbling in magic. Her two non-Tulgey children are also in the Courts."
He paused, trying very hard not to fidget. He had been around many people of importance since hatching his Teo, but none perhaps so important as this man. "The Queen, Rosemary. She knows probably most of the stories that the Tulgey has to offer. If you ever needed to know something of the present times, she could tell you more reliably than anyone I know of except for Vren."

Herm. That was good information to know wasn't it? The wolf mix found himself mildly engaged by the conversation. So the Queen and King had produced a large litter of children? Three Tulgey born and two non? And one of them was a Queen?
It had never occurred to him that he had seen the women in passing before. He had never pegged the oddly colored Queen as a pure Tulgey and what was the likely hood that the beautiful wolf he had spotted in the bar he had once lurked at was related to Femi. How could that Outsider Wolf produce something so pretty, after all?
"It's hard to believe that and outsider could produce a proper Tulgey child. Though this Rosemary character sounds interesting." He ran his talons along the porcelain cup, producing a rather awful screeching sound. His ears flicked in protest but he was otherwise unphased. "Does Rosemary support her region?"

"Interesting is an excellent word to describe Rosemary," Parzifal reflected with as mild a tone as he could manage. "Unfortunately, the child who was most 'properly' Tulgey would have been Alphonse, the vampire, and he died young. I doubt he would have ever left the Wood. Sage seemed quite eager to pursue schooling in the Villa, so I'm not entirely certain you would approve of her realm pride. And Rose... well. You may have to meet her and speak to her in order to properly judge that. She can be a very difficult person to read. Interpret, rather."
This was a family that he knew well. A part of him wondered if he was betraying them in some way, but he really didn't think so. The likelihood of anyone but Rose running into him was slim, and if she did? She could almost certainly handle herself. He knew something of her teleportation from her brother. She could leave in the event of some serious danger.

A vampire? Well that was fascinating? He probably should have poked around the bloody Queen's house a bit more after he had offed her husband. They seemed to have an utterly fascinating set of children, and perhaps he could manipulate the remaining ones? Even if they were tainted there was always a chance he could "fix" them. However difficult it could be.
He raised an eyebrow at the description of Rosemary. Perhaps he would have to return to the house for a little visit?
The Queen opened his mouth to make a comment, but hesitated when he saw something poking through the door. He wrinkled his nose, "If you're going to listen in on someone's conversation, I suggest you make yourself known you little brat."
Josephine had been poking around for quite a bit, and hand wandered up the stairs. The only reason why she had stopped to listen to the conversation was the hint of her family being mentioned. Something about Femi, who she knew was her grandmother who had mysteriously disappeared. She had slowly slipped her head through the door until she could see who was talking.
She gave a small yelp when she was found out, backing into the wall behind her.
She shook it off. What if the angry Tulgey was going to come after her? But they seemed so... so cute. Weird. She swallowed hard and put on the most pathetic face she could possibly muster. She slipped through the door with her head bowed and her tail tucked between her legs. "I-I'm sorry sirs!"
Lythero looked disgusted. What in hell's name was that little monstrosity? It looked to be part Tulgey judging from the very bright red nose and eyes, but it had things sticking out of its back. "What is this?" He asked no one in particular, the horror clearly seeping into his voice.
Josephine stared at the floor, her tail tucking in closer to her body.
Josephine's Tulgey Weird: She doesn't smell poorly, and when she stares at you, you get the feeling that she's just taken something you wanted...
Lythero's Tulgey Weird: How odd...he looks just...so innocent. It would really take a lot for someone to be able to harm him willingly...just look at that face! ....I'm not sure if any card ranked Eight or lower would ever be able to even think about it...

Parzifal started as the Queen suddenly addressed someone... else. Someone at the door. Someone who was decidedly not Vren.
He glanced at the child curiously, his gaze slowly changing from surprise to displeasure. What...
What had the girl just done? Her intrusion seemed to have sapped all of the goodwill from the general, leaving dissatisfaction and disgust in its wake. A fair bit of mortification as well, if he judged the tone correctly. Damn it all.
She looked young. Was this some new boarder of Vren's? A newly purchased child? Something in him wouldn't be surprised. He wasn't overly familiar with the Bog coloring, but he could see the Tulgey shading distinctly in the fur, as he knew what to look for there. He was quite reasonably familiar with the undertone. Doubtless Lythero was as well. No sense in pointing out the obvious.
"Did Vren send you up here for something?" he asked the girl quietly.

Josephine was cowering as she tried to slowly edge towards the door. When Parzifal spoke she looked up up, her tail still tightly tucked between her legs. "He told me to stay out of the way... and I just over heard you say Rosemary and... Mommy left me here because she had to run an important errand and I had hid in her bag." She blushed as she looked back down at her feet. "I'm really sorry I interrupted. I'll leave if you want me to."
Lythero's ears were pressed against his skull as the child spoke. Annoying little thing. He just wanted to kick it and send it off, but apparently it was related to the Tulgey Rosemary? So she went off and had affairs with non-Tulgey? What was the world coming to?
His teacup was starting to crack as he seemed to grip it tightly. Setting it down he slowly looked to Parzifal. He hadn't mentioned anything about Rosemary being a dirty whore, then again he was a half breed himself. Disgusting. "Does this Rosemary make it a habit to breed with monstrosities?"
He glanced at the child. "Make yourself useful and pour me tea."
Josephine wanted to cry. However she walked over to the teapot and carefully tried to poor the man a new cup of tea.

This... this was a child of Rosemary's? Parzifal's expression would have been comical for a moment, had anyone been in much of a mood to laugh. He hadn't realized that Rose had... well. Had reproduced. And then brought the children back to the Wood. Especially after apparently mating with a non-Tulgey, which he would have absolutely expected of her. Just something about seeing her progeny startled him.
And angered the general. Damn it. He bit back something he would have dearly liked to say to the girl, more at the thought of what he would do if someone said the same thing to his son, and waited a moment for the Queen to speak.
"I hadn't been aware she had children, Sir. I'm a bit startled. But..." And something clicked in his memory. "But she looks to be a mix with the Raemblen Bog. What's your name, young lady?" He couldn't think of another mode of address that would fit the situation and stuck with the awkwardly formal one.

Lythero's brow furrowed. Did this Rosemary person regularly keep her child a secret? He could honestly understand why. Freakish little thing had a tube sticking in her throat and things sticking out of her back. Judging from the look on the human's face he was at a complete and utter loss. It would have been funny if the girl hadn't been so disgusting.
"I see," he said as he continued to stare at the young girl. She at least didn't spill the tea. He snatched it up when she was finished.
Josephine still looked like she was about to cry. She looked over to the bird in human form with a curious expression. He seemed nice. And he was the one who had mentioned Mommy which meant... that they must have known each other. The question was who was he on the long list of people Mommy knew.
"My name is Josephine, sir," she said with a small bow of her head.
Lythero made an amused snort. That was one hell of a name for a little girl. Perhaps she would be useful for getting to this Rosemary person. Though he was starting to doubt any of these people would be useful. Producing mongrels with no respect for their past. "Sit down and be quiet then," he said as he looked to the human. "Where were we before this rude little interruption?"
