((The shovel was also absorbed into the black mass after Don had thrown it, sinking into the sludge and instantly slamming inside down into the Chipmunk's back, making a jagged and terrible scar. "Burn all! Sorry, sorry! Fuck what the Hell do we do, then?" He yelped as Iso pushed him back, hard enough to knock him off his feet. He crashed over with a squawk, flipping back upright, hands on a trash can lid as the first thing he'd located for defense. Talk to it? She was gonna talk to it? Ok. Ok, whatever. He just sort of hung awkwardly, wings half-spread, behind Iso, ready to grab her and run if necessary. Granted, they probably wouldn't get far...
The monster seemed to regard Iso with one large eye, and then placed a blobby tendril over Yantai's back, rubbing gently and getting a mass of inky sludge caught in her fur. A terribly crunching sound came from inside as the thing tore off the Chipmunk's tail and slowly spat it out. Thick, knobbled bone protrusions continued to pummel the man inside, drawing long, deep cuts in odd patterns all over his hide. Slowly, but surely, they began to form the words Tamis, Tamis, Tamis over and over again.
It stared down at the girls rushing towards it and at Yantai's tearful face. It seemed confused. Don figured he may as well go with the flow. "Dude. Spit. Out. The Munk." The monster gazed around at everything before it, so much negative attention almost seeming to be driving it up the wall. "Waaarrrrrrrrr...there's a warrrrrrr...didn'ttttt wannnt....Suuuuviussssssss." It whined plaintively, before finally making a horrifyingly thick sound, much like vomiting, and spitting the Josiggy back out onto the pavement. Thick black goo had invaded his every last space and it had stuck itself into all of his wounds, leaving weird, thick black raised scars and changing his scent forever to one much like ink.
Don stayed back, one hand on Iso's shoulder, though he gingerly walked halfway around her. Observing the thing. "I... Iso, I'm gonna grab him, just talk to it, ok?" He asked, before sliding forward to grab the Josiggy and try to pull him away from the monster. It hissed and frothed a little at Don's approach and the man tried his best to ignore it and just focused on the Chipmunk. "Ok, dude. Just...yanking you back here, ok fuck...don't let that thing kill me, fuuuuuuuuck...." He hissed to himself as much as Jarvis as he hooked his hands under the man's shoulders and tried to pull him backwards.))

When the thing hit him with the shovel and then proceeded to remove his tail, he was certain he was going to die in the black mass of goo. He was getting lightheaded from lack of oxygen and all he could taste, hear, see or feel was black, inky sludge.
After a bit things seemed to hurt less as his consciousness started to get a little hazy, and then he was abruptly spat out onto the ground. His first instinct was to try and take a deep breath of air, but all that managed to start was a serious of hacking coughs, with quickly lead into heaves as his body tried to expel the invading ooze. It sprayed from his nose, leaked from his ears and, well.... leaked from everywhere except his nose and mouth.
He hardly heard Don, or anyone around him for that matter, and weakly swiped at the crow in an attempt to fight off being devoured again. He managed a slow sway to the air around the man, but that was all. He wouldn't be much help at all in trying to get away from the beast either, mostly dead weight really. At least he was a chipmunk and not some larger breed.... right?
_______________
Jerome watched in horror as the thing spat out the other man's tail after a serious of horrible crunching sounds. The shovel that don had thrown before had been largely ineffective, having been sucked inside the thing as well. Physical attacks just wouldn't cut it then, would they? He could do nothing, nothing but stand and watch in horror.
His ears perked when the man was vomited up onto the road and he stood still until the crow moved toward the man, who was quite obviously still alive, and the Akita followed suit. When don had the chipmunks shoulders firmly, he ducked his head and helped the crow pull the other man up onto his back by dropping down onto his belly and got up onto his paws again to help walk him to safety. A good portion of his mass was actually muscle, not just thick fur. He repressed a shudder as he felt some of the good worm it's way through a ruffled portion of his fur. Absolutely disgusting.
_______________
Takio placed a hand over Sonata's eyes and pulled her a little closer to himself as he watched the thing in horror as well. His empathy toward the thing suddenly gone, at the very least he tried to hurt people the least amount possible. He got to his feet and carried the smaller Tulgey/Villa closer to the group, feeling that numbers just might keep her a bit safer then standing off on their own.
Is he.... is he going to be alright?
His red eyes were locked on the form of the chipmunk, but the question was directed to Iso, whom he'd walked over to stand next to, and a bit behind.
Sonata was perfectly happy being held tightly and shielded from the horrible things that were going on. She liked to act tough and independent, mostly to try and out do her brother, but inside she was a soft little daddy's girl who really couldn't take as much as she liked for people to think. The only thing keeping her from crying into her daddy's vest was the knowledge that there was other people around, and a strong desire to uphold at least some of her 'toughness'.
_______________
Yantai cringed at the sound of the crunch, her tears and pleads intensifying until finally Tamis seemed to acknowledge them. She knew she should probably feel horrified that Tamis had just stroked her with a tendril of ooze, but she didn't. In fact, it brought her closer to the inky mass as finally the poor man was regurgitated. She watched his initial struggle, and then him being pulled away by the crow and the Akita, tears still falling freely from her eyes.
Tamis, Tamis listen. I know there's a war and a lot of confusion just don't.... just don't eat anyone else.... ok?
She took one more glance back in the direction of the poor man before everything seemed a little much for her. She felt her head get fuzzy and her knees tremble a mere second before she swayed and then fainted, falling toward Tamis as everything went black for a moment.

Just… just wait a moment. Let’s see what Tamis has to say.
Judging from the sounds Don had just made, she had been a bit too rough with him. She hadn’t meant to be, but situations like this indefinitely worsened when people panicked. It was the sort of fear-fueled behavior that caused a patient to rip out an object they’d been impaled with. Once things calmed down, she would issue an apology.
Iso tightly clenched her jaw as horrible sounds directly followed the shovel being engulfed by the giant inky creature. Her ears flattened against her skull, the ink alongside her back shivering and waving. There were no screams from inside Tamis’ dark mass. That certainly didn't bode well.
She flinched as a sickening cracking, crunching noise erupted from inside the swirling goo – then watched as the chipmunk’s tail was spat noisily onto the pavement. Suits, was the man still alive in there?
The doctor’s eyes narrowed as the monster complained of war. So the wolf hadn’t been spewing a load of nonsense. What did this mean, then? Suddenly, the bright light they had seen in the sky held much more foreboding than it had a moment before. Had the conflict come to the Capital then? There could be innocents trapped amidst the fighting. She shivered, but kept her eyes on the monster.
With a shudder, the ink monster unceremoniously deposited the battered Jossigy onto the pavement. He looked terrible, but more shocked than anything else. She inwardly sighed with relief. She could mend him enough for them to keep going.
Iso jerked her head towards Jarvis as permission to grab the man and pull him away.
I’ll take a closer look in a moment, but he should be fine. The Spade suddenly patted her shoulder and then calmed down a bit. She had managed to keep her coin purse, complete with basic medical supplies, on her person through the entire night. For a moment, she was worried she wouldn't be able to give Jarvis proper care. Well, she wouldn't lacking a proper work space, but she would be able to prevent basic infection, at least.
Tamis… that’s Jarvis you’d just swallowed. He hasn’t harmed anyone. He’s not a part of the War. She spoke slowly, as if to a dim and frightened child. Thank you for letting him go. That was very nice. Can you tell us about the War? That would really help us.

The girl was lost in her own mind, each new face presenting her with a brand new set of images and stories. Every time she started to come out of it she slipped back under again, her expression blank and hazed-over. She didn't move or react at all when the blobby monster threw itself at the Josiggy man, but she did let out a quiet gasp when she finally awoke.
Immediately, she hurried to her sister's side. Her eyes locked on the Tulgey mix, the father of the girl who she'd met earlier that day. He was -- no. That was wrong. She felt herself start to shake, willing herself to be calm but finding it to be almost impossible. "He-" she started to say, but then she was aware that something much more urgent was happening. The blobby-thing had eaten someone, and everyone was trying to get it out.
The girl let out a terrified wail and clung to Keitha, at a complete loss for what to do. She looked at the blob and started to shout at it. "Why did you do that?! He wasn't hurting anyone, he's not the one who --!" She choked on the words, finding that it was impossible to get out. But this would explain the feelings she'd gotten from the creature before, the sensation of regret so strong she'd found it hard to breathe. If it kept doing bad things, it would regret its entire life! But what was she supposed to do?!
The monster seemed to react to them, and eventually, it released its hold on the poor man. Eryn felt the blood rush from her head at the sight, wavering. What... what had it done to him?!

((The monster slowly shuddered, letting itself sink backwards and into itself a bit, crumpling in the oddest of ways as its enormous head gingerly tried to nudge back at Yantai.
Don tried not to watch the bizarre exchange between scary little girl and terrifying monster. Molly'd think this was hilarious, real life versions of so many stories they knew and mocked because they were cliche'. Cute. "Hang on, dude. Jarvis, hang on, man." He muttered, pulling the other man's body as best he could back to Iso and halfway behind her, grateful for the Akita's help, regardless of how bulkily horrifying the guy might be. As much as he'd normally be loathe to hide behind ladies...Jarvis kinda needed to live. That'd be cool. "Thanks, man. I owe you." He muttered to Jerome. Pulling out a small instrument from his apron that looked a bit like an impromptu turkey baster, he crammed it into the Chipmunk's throat to remove any extra goop. Surprisingly, the thing seemed to suck every bit of the nastiness out of his body, not just his throat. "Fuck, this is the nastiest-" Don grumble, emptying it in a pot hole in the street and scrabbling back, shaking the man lightly. "Can you hear me, dude? You ok?" He asked, honestly worried.
Tamis gazed down, blearily at the girl speaking to it. It frothed a little and joggled before moaning. "Noooo eaaaaating...."
Don nodded to Iso, patting her gently on the shoulder before turning back to the Chipmunk. "Ok, girl. I trust what you say." He muttered, not having anything else he could do in the situation, trusting to higher authority seemed a good plan. Not like he wasn't used to it, in all walks of life.
The monster regarded Iso. "Thereeee'ssss a waaarrrrr. No- Not, miiiinnneeee, jusssst heeerrrrrrrr. Not huuuurt." It wrapped a tendril again around Yantai, nudging at her, and gingerly trying to nudge at the other girls as well. "Noooooot my waaarrrrrrr. Ssssuuuviussssss....." It's eyes suddenly seemed to snap further open. It felt bits of itself being drained away, bits of its own consciousness leaving it. "Nooo! My daaaaughter! Miiine! She wasss mineee! The Lakessss! The Lakes!" It screamed, writhing. "Poiiiissooonnn! No! Broken, broken, broken, broken, broken...."))

Pandora had been happy to keep back and let the others do all the talking. She had the urge to sneak off when they weren't looking, but she just couldn't bring herself to be alone at a time like this. She watched in disgust as one of the young girls actually seemed to like the ugly blob monster. She shivered, her fur and feathers shifting.
Then all of a sudden the thing was rushing her way! She screamed and ran, not realizing its target was Jarvis until the sounds from the monster and the others around her let her know something had happened. Turning around her beak opened in shock. The Chipmunk had been eaten alive! Oh thank the Suits it hadn't been coming for me! she thought, wondering how long the Josiggy was going to last without any air.
Don had thrown a shovel at it which just got sucked in and while Pan tried to ignore the sounds coming from inside the thing the other Cards tried to reason with it. Idiots! But... it seemed to be listening to them, oddly enough. The young Deer/Rat mix in particular. Pan clacked her beak shut, a disgusted look on her face as the thing ran a... well, what she guessed amounted to a hand, down the girl's back and finally vomited up Jarvis.
Taking a few steps closer, she could see he'd definitely been roughed up on the inside. Pan closed her eyes and turned her head. She didn't want to see anymore.
Eyes still closed, her large rabbit ears swiveled towards Tamis's direction. Something about a war? Unable to fight off interest, she looked back to the creature. "More about this war? And who exactly is Suvius?"
Then, suddenly, the thing was screaming and shaking like never before... shouting something about a daughter. This thing could reproduce?! How disgusting! Pandora hoped this was the last creature like this she would ever see again. Maybe since it was shouting about it so adamantly, it would slough off to the Selkie Lakes. Right about now would be good.

He was fairly still, until the turkey baster contraption was shoved down his throat of course. He made a move to bite the hand that held it [7], but the thing was too far in already to get one in.... luckily enough for Don of course since the rodent was venomous.
But it wasn't long after that second intrusion that he could actually feel all the nasty goo being sucked from inside him. His hearing was back, and lastly his vision returned as well. He coughed a few more times after the baster-esque contraption was removed and turned his gaze as best he could to the crow.
He lifted a still slightly trembling hand to give the man a thumbs up before dropping the hand back down, still a little unwilling to try talking just yet. He simply laid there and stared at his tail, which was still lying at Tami's .... what, feet? Whatever the equivalent was to feet that a gelatinous blob had.
Finally feeling safe after being forcefully removed from the chipmunk's shoulders, and now that the two guys were done moving him around, his own little sludge monster made it's way back to him and crawled up to sit on his shoulder again, making agitated little gurgles at it's larger.... cousin.
_____________
Takio was about to ask Iso a few more things, but the owl started to babble things, babble things about him. His red eyes widened and his lip curled, revealing that even in his human form his fangs were quite pronounced, as he all but hissed in the girl's direction. He lifted up a hand and pointed at her as well, making damn sure she knew who he was talking to.
Don't you.... don't you say a word!
As aggressive as that sentence had started out, somewhere in the middle it turned into desperation. He didn't know how she knew, but with the way she was looking at him, and the way she spoke.... she had too. She wasn't aloud to reveal his most desperately guarded of secrets! Not here, not now, not ever.
_________
Sonata finally picked her head up and peered up at her daddy, blinking a bit in confusion. Why was he so angry? And why was he angry at a little girl? Why did he sound so.... worried? She reached up with a clawed paw and gently tapped his cheek with them, trying to distract him and turn his attention back to her.
Daddy, what's going on? What's wrong? Calm down.
_____________
The solandrian dipped his front end down and scooted backward, depositing the chipmunk down on the ground as gently as was possible. His fur was mucked up with the black substance, but he definitely didn't have it as bad as the chipmunk did.
He picked up his head and regarded Don for a moment before noddign ever so slightly.
No vorries. Is bad?
He inclined his head toward the jossigy, his ears perked as he wondered if the man would be alright. Physically, yes... he'd probably be fine. This seemed like something that would leave more invisible scars.
__________
Yantai came back to her senses as Tamis wrapped a tendril around her and nudged her, she translated that into a comforting gesture and responded by leaning against the inky mass. If she could purr, she would totally be doing so right around now. At the mention of her war, she heaved a sigh and nodded, looking over at Jarvis again before her gaze moved to Iso. Her intelligence seemed to fly right out the window with talk of such a touchy subject.
Y-yes. I, you see..... my father can't even be up front in his own shop and, well.... I've been warned what they might do to me.
She inclined her head toward Jarvis before making a gesture to her swirled markings, which were almost entirely visible now between Tamis' affection, her change and her tears.
Lowlands.
Her ears perked at Tamis' newest statements and she regarded him, she was quite certain it was a him anyway, with curiosity. Did that mean ...?
Tamis.... were you a card once? Are you still?
And then something clicked in her mind that made a little panic run through her, her heart rate increasing with the new fear. As much as she loved her family, and as much as they were good to her..... having a protector around was something that was so overwhelmingly comforting she didn't want it to end, and the tears started anew as she buried her face in the black, gooey mass.
No Tamis, don't leave me!

It was very trying to keep her focus when everything seemed to be falling apart around her. Takio had snatched up his daughter and was shouting at the little Owl, who seemed to snap out of whatever had occupied her mind for so long. Then there was Jarvis – Iso turned her head for a moment to see Don bent over the chipmunk, extracting goo with what looked like a turkey baster. She blinked, then looked back at the monster, who seemed somehow remorseful of its behavior.
It spoke of a war, of a different kind? Wrapping it’s tendrils around the little deer-like child, and muttering that it wasn’t anything he had done.
Suvius?
Her head snapped to the child again, as she confirmed what the monster had said. You’re a Lowlander?
It was more of a statement than question, since the girl had just gestured to her unique-colored swirls. Iso looked at her, her narrowed eyes softening. She wasn’t much for children, despite her being pregnant with suits-knew-how-many fetuses, but she knew that someone as young as this girl shouldn’t be worrying about the markings on her fur. It was a terrible thing to be conscious of. Such a waste - to fuel realms on prejudice and hate.
The monster suddenly wailed, its strange eyes widened in panic. It seemed to be struggling to be present. In its attempt to stay coherent, it spewed forth random information. What was it trying to tell them? The little girl buried her face in the monster’s sludge, wailing for him to stay with her. She felt the heat rise in her skin as panic flared within her, the ink monster’s words ringing in her ears. Did it mean the Selkie Lakes? What did poison have to do with the Lakes, or his daughter, or this Suvius person.
Tamis, we want to help! Is Suvius your daughter? What poison?? Please, tell us! We want to help you.
Iso felt despair, for even she could recognize the death throes of this foreign creature, and she had no idea how to help the poor thing.

((Ssssuuuviussss, my daughhhteeerrrr...."[/color] The monster hissed and frothed, writhing in what appeared to be agony as it seemed almost to shrink. It let its tendril droop over Yantai's back as it seemed to evaporate slowly, eyes sinking back into its ooze as it gave her a sad stare. "Wassss....Selkie...." It muttered pathetically, sinking further. "Poisssssonnnnn, poiiiisssoonnnn in the Lakesss. Suuuviusssss...my daughter...sssso bad...my daughteeerr." It collapsed in on itself even as Yantai leaned in.
Don looked over to the Akita...he didn't sound too, too bad, Actually. A little like that Alexander dude, really, with the accent. "Well, he's not too hot right now. But this little baby makes it easy to siphon things outta your system... Damn shame it only works once a day, really. I think he'll be ok, so long as he's not cursed or anything." The Crow confided, shifting uncomfortably to watch as Iso bandied words with the thing. He really didn't want to know what its problem was, he just wanted it to die and get the hell away. Waaaay too much for him to want to deal with, it seemed far gone enough to need to be "put down" any way. Practicality, though he could understand Iso's curiosity, granted.
The thing collapsed completely, forming a quickly evaporating puddle and leaving behind three small bits of bone and scorched stone. Oddly, though, as soon as the larger Blob vanished, the Blob on Jarvis's shoulder seems to be overcome with the urge to go over to Yantai... Could it be changing masters?
Bone bits x 3: These three bits of bone tingle magically when held...I wonder if they do anything. These items are not assigned and work best when combined with other items...though who knows what it might do to them...))[/i]

((Nat - do the bone bits go to anyone, or Yantai since she was closest to Tamis?))
She heard the sounds of something being sucked and couldn't help but look. She saw Don shoving a ...what the hell was that thing.. down Jarvis's throat and extracting all of the disgusting too he'd come out with after being spit up. She could bet he wanted a shower right about now. He looked over at his newly detatched tail.
Sighing at herself, Pandora got up and went over to the tail. It would be eaiser to pick it up with her beak but she wasn't putting that disgusting bit of Chipmunk in her mouth! Instead he pinched a small tuft of fur between her paw's digits and walked it over to Jarvis, setting it in front of him.
"Er, maybe you can get the person who gave you those extra legs to um, put it back on?" she offered, taking a few steps back and stood next to Jerome.
And then all of a sudden Takio was shouting at one of the children! Pan looked between the two of them, frowning. She didn't care for children much but she was pretty sure you shouldn't be yelling at them unless they'd done something wrong. And it didn't appear that was the case either. The crazed look in his eyes was definitely scary.
The little deer girl was talking, confirming what the blob monster was saying about the war. What was it with these Lowlanders and Josiggys! Thank the Suits she had neither Realm in her blood! The girl certainly didn't look like anything she expected a Lowlander to be. Where was her Rot they were all so very infamous for?
But then Pan heard what the child was asking the monster. No. No, absolutely not. That thing couldn't be a Card; it just couldn't! Her rabbit ears flattened down her neck and her beak opened wide in shock. That thing... used to be a person?!
"What happened to you!" she cried to Tamis. And more importantly, could the same happen to her?
And then, she literally saw it begin to disappear. This was all too strange! So, the blob creature used to be a Selkie Card, and his homeland was poisoned somehow. This entire thing was done to him. Despite herself, Pan felt the beginnings of pity begin to swell up inside for Tamis.
Pan watched as it completely evaporated into a puddle, and then nothing. The deer girl child was devastated. How could she have gotten so attached to something so grotesque in such a short amount of time? Well, maybe this Tamis person had been one acceptional Card.
In the spot where the puddle had been lay a few bone bits, gross, and a scorched stone. Not daring to touch the bones in case the young girl would throw a fit, Pan slowly walked forward and picked up the stone in her paws and started turning it over, trying to see what the thing was.
