Just as the world was starting to come together again, Miah began to change. Jovan jolted back, eyes going wide and his ears pressing to his skull, as a terrible dread began to fill the pit of his stomach. Ever since that terrible woman had told him what had become of his biological father he'd feared becoming the monster that he was. No matter how many times he told himself it was just a lie, that she was just a vicious, vindictive woman, the fear was always there.
One day he'd become a monster too.
And apparently, that day was today.
Leaking ink like the monster that had swallowed him, stained, disoriented, and watching the one painfully average mouse beginning to mutate, Jovan felt as if the rational world he'd worked so hard to maintain was crumbling all at once. A thin whine escaped him as he began to back up, shaking his head and muttering beneath his breath. "I don't want to become a monster..." In his shock he hadn't realized he'd been speaking out loud at all and he would likely continue his desperate mantra until someone shook him out of it.

It was decapitated... then it got away. Just what in the hell were they up against? He tried to get his thoughts straight. There were children down stairs waiting for him to report back, there were people up here that needed care and--
Before he could think anything more, the mouse began to change right before their eyes. Victor froze to the spot, just watching. He then remembered he put himself between Shoshanna and the spewing ink monster. His head snapped back to see the ink splot on his vest. Claws out, he reached back and yanked the vest off, not bothering to unbutton it and cast it aside almost panicked. Checking to see if anything got on his actual fur was interrupted by Jovan. He tentatively inched forward.
"Jovan? Jovan, are you alright?" he called gently. Then he called much louder: "JOVAN! Snap out of it!" Concern was etched on every line of his face.

Jeremiah had been listening to Ayden as he explained they needed to get the group to the Lakes. Miah frowned, wondering how they were supposed to travel that far when the whole world was wrong. Were there even coaches they could get a hold of? Surely they couldn't walk there. The time it would take was enough of a deterrent but he knew in the pit of his stomach there would be more monsters out there, some probably even worse than the one they had just encountered. After all, they hadn't actually managed to kill the thing. The Mouse had been silently pondering these things when he felt a small pain begin in his legs, a dull throbbing which rapidly turned into lightning searing every inch of his body. The Torque screamed as his limbs quickly elongated. He could actually hear as well as feel the bones, ligaments, muscles, tendons.... stretching, reforming and changing. Miah fell to the floor, the pain too horrible to remain upright. It was a few moments later when he realized he could breathe again. His body still ached and throbbed, but the white hot fire was no longer cooking him from the inside. He opened his eyes, realized everyone was staring at him in horror and tried to get up. "I'm-I'm alright, I think. I don't know what the Suits just hap-" he started to say, but as he fell back to the floor he saw why he couldn't make his legs function right. They were twice their original length or more! Miah stared open mouthed as he flexed and moved these new limbs. Movement caused him a bit of pain, but nothing the Torque wasn't used to. Thinking about that he realized there were bindings near his feet now that moved around like bracelets. Well, those were new. Taking it slowly, Jeremiah began to stand again. This time he managed to stay on his feet, though he did wobble rather badly. The whole room looked different, and he realized it was because he was taller. That wasn't a bad thing exactly, he thought to himself as he began to turn around to test these new limbs' dexterity. He moved his tail to help his balance, looked at it to make sure that at least had remained the same size, and began moving about again. He stopped, spun around and fell down again. "What the hell?!" he shouted, looking at the red and black feathers covering his tail and leading a bit up his back. "Feathers? Seriously..... feathers?!" Miah was bewildered. I mean sure, they were rather beautiful but... feathers

((Ayden gave Miah a completely baffled look, eyebrows rising dangerously close to his hairline. "You...you're sure you're all right? Pardon my quip, but you don't look like it." He didn't know what to think, what had just-
Victor's cry alerted him to Jovan's...attitude. Giving Eurwen's hand a light squeeze, he checked himself over, then took a look at her, then...hesitantly, stepped over to the Josiggy mix. "Jovan? You...nothing looks too off, aside from...hold still, please." He couldn't hear what the younger man was muttering, and was honestly a little afraid too. "Eurwen? Here." He tosses her a small vial of light blue liquid. "It's a healing drought. I was saving it, but it'll be no good if we get out of here and you can't run. Don't argue, drink it and see if you can't help me with Jovan. Victor...can...can you do anything for...whatever this is?" He asked the Cat hopefully. After what the Lowlander had done for his arm, well...well, he wouldn't hug him in gratitude, but he certainly had a better outlook on the Feline, that much was certain.
(The drought will cause Eurwen's tail to heal with a slight kink in it, but to otherwise be fully mobile and healthy.)
Ayden honestly didn't know what to do. This was beyond any training he'd ever received and the fact that the younger man was still pooling ink absolutely terrified him. If they ended up having to kill Jovan after all this... Something bubbled up in some of the ink Jovan was leaking, right next to his head, small eyes appearing and staring right into his own.))

Feathers. The man was obviously freaking about feathers. A small part of her felt terribly offended.
The hand squeeze brought her back to reality. She finally looked over to Jovan and... oh dear. He'd never been in that bad of a state before. And he was still leaking. She frowned slightly. People crowding around him wasn't going to help, now was it?
"Oi," the mouse said when she caught the vial. Her nose wrinkled slightly, she was about to protest but Ayden cut her off. He had a valid point. She nodded mutely before drinking it. Her tail felt better, and she ignore the slightly kink in it, making her way to Jovan.
Really she didn't think Victor being close to the Jossigy was a good idea. Especially during a panic attack, she made a point of putting a bit of space between them. "Hey Knight in Shining Armor," she said brightly, "Think you can make it to the basement? I don't know how long Kamina can go without adult supervision. I'm kind of worried something's going to explode, and I think she's really fond of you." She winked for good measure.
---
There was no answer.
She frowned.
She needed adults, but she didn't want to leave the box alone. Her tail trashed with displeasure as she decided to do something obnoxious. Her eyes remained trained on the tiny door as she edged away. She took a deep breath, and yelled at the top of her lungs, "GUYS I FOUND A DOOOOOOR! GET DOWN HEEEEREEEE!"
Of course they might just hear wailing. But maybe that would get them moving. Assuming... they weren't dead. The thought made her ears drooped and she whined a bit. What if they were dead upstairs? Oh no. What if that thing came down here?

Suddenly the room seemed to zero in on him. It was a strange contrast from the horrible moment of isolation and, in a way, even more overwhelming. He jerked away from the shout and nearly stumbled into Ayden as the man stepped over to him. He was still shivering violently though he offered the mouse a faint nod of recognition. He would try to stay calm but it was hard with the what ifs screaming through his head over and over again.
And then Eurwen was there. He jumped when she laid a hand on him but his posture slowly relaxed beneath her hand as she spoke. Her wink prompted an awkward smile from him. "Right. Ka..." He stopped abruptly, mouth falling open as the ink around his feet suddenly came to life... quite literally. The brief calm that had managed to return to him was shattered in an instant as the ink rose up and blinked at him.
He froze momentarily, blinking in his surprise as the creature stared at him and he, in turn, at it. Somewhere, Kamina wailed and Jovan was forcefully jolted out of his shock. Oh suits, Eurwen was right there and Kamina was... somewhere... screaming. If something was happening he simply wouldn't forgive himself.
Without pausing to really think about his actions, Jovan quickly reached out to scoop the strange thing up with his tentacles. (Rolled a 20)

So much was going on, and there was so very little he could do about it. With Eurwen between himself and the Josiggy mix, he realized how stupid is was for him to get too close to the young man at this moment. He wanted to be by Miah's side during his transformation, but would the mouse really want a Lowlander he hardly knew trying to comfort him in that moment? He looked at Ayden, brow furrowed.
"...I'm not sure. I do have an ability that allows me to detect magic. Once a day, I can detect the alignment of one thing... but beyond that, I don't have anything that can help in this specific situation," he swallowed, hoping Ayden didn't feel any guilt from the next statement, "I already used all of the magical healing ability I have on you."
He took a deep breath and activated the ability. As he thought, the world around him vibrated with magic. It was almost distracting (the reason why he didn't want to do it in the first place), but he had to focus. That was interrupted with a blob of ink looking up on him. He jumped nearly three feet into the air, his fur standing on end and his back arched instinctively. His ears were pinned back and his claws extended. What the...
His jaw dropped when Jovan grabbed it. That was probably not a good idea, but he was too shocked to say anything.
Moderate Ability: When activated, this SD can detect any and all magical items in the vicinity. However, he cannot tell how powerful any one item is. Only once per day can he detect the alignment of the magic (malign, benign, beneficial) of ONE target.
[Nat - if my assumption of what Victor feels with this ability in the current situation is wrong, please do let me know.]

Jeremiah bounced about, getting the feel for his new legs and tail. He smiled, realizing that although the transformation had been excruciatingly painful, he actually felt pretty wonderful! It took him almost a full minute to realize that he no longer felt his circulation being cut off from his Torque bindings. Staring in open-mouthed awe, he flexed his front leg muscles as hard as he could and almost teared up when he could. No longer would he feel any pain while lifting anything! He was free of that small burden!
"Actually, I feel fantastic!" Miah answered Ayden, pacing back and forth on his new legs.
Feeling exalted, Miah had nearly forgot about the situation at had. The smile slipped from his face when he realized the equine-mix was freaking out. After seeing that crazed Monster made out of ink, Miah knew he'd be freaking out too if he were the one leaking that very same substance.
The changed Mouse made his way over to Jovan, worry plain on his face. "I'm sure it'll stop soon enough, kid," he told the young man, forcing a smile to try and calm him. His gaze slid downward at the growing puddle of ink.
"Suits!" he shouted, backing up too quickly on the new limbs and falling on the ground right next to a pair of eyeballs staring at him from out of the goop.
Miah gulped. "Er,... hello there?" he nervously whispered to the eyes. Please don't be a Monster, please don't be a monster, please don't be a monster! Miah didn't have time to think too much more on it when one of Jovan's tentacles quickly snatched it up.
Just then, he heard a loud cry come from the stairs leading to the basement. Getting back to his feet he looked at the blob in Jovan's tentacle warily.
"I should go check on the kids, I think," he said, backing up and away from the ink blob and ran down the stairs.
------------------------
Geronimo had been trying to pull his sister to the stairwell when the feline with that machine growing out of her back screamed. He spun around, his hackles raised and hissing. It took a few moments, but his fur slowly lowered down when he realized they weren't being attacked.
He realized the little girl's yell had mentioned a door, and Geronimo's mouth gaped open when he found it. On the side of a box?!
He'd been so dumbfounded by her discovery he hadn't heard Jeremiah coming down the stairs behind him. The Mouse tumbled into the Feline and both went sprawling over the floor and landed in a pile of moldy, dusty boxes. Geronimo was quicker to recover himself and sprang back to his feet, his tail raised in the air and his teeth bared at his attacker.
Jeremiah rubbed his head and groaned. That hadn't been fun. He was about to get up when he felt something hard and very cold under one of his feet. Looking down he realized one of the boxes he'd rolled into must have opened because a shiny mirror lay where nothing had been before. The Mouse picked up the mirror, turned it around in his hand and used it to get a good look down his back. Ha! More feathers there! He paid the hissing feline no heed, too distracted as he was by his new reflection in the mirror.

(( Ayden nods to Jeremiah, trying to focus his concentration on the eyeballs that had just popped up in the ink near Jovan. "Oh, Suits...why?" He asked the world, quietly, as Jovan then rolled a tentacle to the side, and seemed to scoop the thing up without even thinking abut it.
There was no resistance. In fact, the eyes slowly schlupped up into a form similar to the one that attacked them, in miniature, and twisted about happily in the ink seeping from Jovan's body. If Ayden didn't know any better, he'd say the thing liked Jovan.
Apparently, it did.
ID: B02 out of 10 Species: Blobling Characteristic: Ink
Notes: This little Blobling is elastic, thin, runny, and much quicker than some other Bloblings, it can shoot about at speeds of up to 30mph. It is able to spread out into a puddle of slick ink 50 feet wide whenever it feels that itself or its master is threatened. It will only take to the creature it has bonded to, though if that creature dies, it might consider another. At any point in time, its ink can used for writing, though it loves to receive fresh ink at any point in time. Bloblings are exceedingly rare, in fact, there are only 10 of them. They cannot breed, cannot be split into multiples, and will not ever be found again. They have a mildly frightening aura and will not be viewed as a normal pet or familiar, many will view them with disgust and trepidation or fear.
"Th-thank you anyway...Victor." He mumbled in shock as the creature cuddled up to Jovan's neck. "Jovan? Jovan, are you...all right?" He slid closer to Eurwen and slid his hand into hers. This was insane. The world had gone mad and they needed to go back to the Selkie and it was about to get madder. His head jerked toward the basement. "Kamina. Come on, come on!" He dashed down toward the stairs, jumping over the other Mouse and skidding toward the strange girl. He stared at the small angry boy who seemed to have woken up and stared between him and the frightened girl, Shoshanna. "Please don't strangle your sister." He murmured, feeling jumpy. He stared at the box. And the door. The door on a cardboard box. As they watched it, it slowly opened.
Behind it was a cold, blank, darkness... And a small wind.))~Nathalia

Eurwen hissed slightly at the brief interruption of peace. Suddenly there was a strange thing looking at them, and everything was just a horrible mess. She was grateful that Jovan had managed to grab the thing, "That's... actually kind of cute," she managed to say as she watched it flop on his neck.
She felt Ayden's hand in her own. She squeezed it a bit in reassurance. And then Kamina screamed bloody murder. Shoot. That girl really was as much trouble as thought. Of course she didn't have time to dwell on it as Ayden suddenly jerked in the direction of the basement, still holding her hand. She let out an alarmed squeak as she tried not to get dragged along.
The girl seemed pretty safe when they arrived. Though Miah was clearly being an idiot and things were a disaster. "Miah, get your act together! How old are you, twelve?" She said as she grabbed a piece of molding box with her unoccupied hand and tossed it at his head.
Then things got weird. She squeezed Ayden's hand with both of hers, edging a bit closer to him. She muttered, almost inaudibly as the wind suddenly picked up, "I'm going to die. I'm going to die a virgin, aren't I?"
Kamina had decided to take a seat away from the stairs before the Torquehelm mouse came tumbling down. She gave him a sidelong glance, still focused on staring at the door in the box. She didn't want to bother with the strange mouse, she wanted Jovan.
She edged a little closer to the door, eying it. She heard more footsteps, the disgruntled voice of Ivy-Eurwen, and a sidelong glance of the pretty Selkie man. Well, those two were responsible adults. "I found something, I'm not sure--" She gave a small yowl of surprise when the wind started up. "Oh goodness, there were violins earlier and what's happening? Did I do something bad?"
