[FA]Ercole: weekly smoke tendrils, WIP

I was so excited about setting up Ercole's thread that I had to stop and sketch him. >.< Yes, yes..I know he is black and thus his feathers should be dark instead of light, I just like to show a slight differentiation between the colors now and color it properly later because colored pencil is annoying to erase when it's applied with a lot of pressure. D:

So, the plan is the finalize the sketch, scan it, ink it, and color! Rawr. I'll be posting my progress. <3 I love this place!

Colored pencils can be a pain. >> "THIS SHADE IS BEAUTIFUL AND PERFECT aaaaaand my scanner hates it and refuses to recognize it."

I veeeery much enjoy this! The expression on his face is excellent, the curve of his beak is so lovely and smooth, and the tendrils of smoke curling up and away delight me beyond all reason. I eagerly await the progression of this piece! <3

I was blown away by how amazing you drew Ercole even though you've never drawn a cartoon stylized Heron before!
My favorite thing about this sketch, besides the awesome curling smoke, is his face - especially his eyes. Those eye lids are so dark and it makes him looked all drugged-out. Hehe.
