((Brandy and Jordan were enjoying their stay at the Fallen Wing pub and inn quite separately until about three hours ago. When a murder happened downstairs, everyone was dragged out of their rooms and hauled downstairs to be checked out magically before being allowed to return to their rooms for the evening while their belongings were searched.
They were placed next to one another and seem to have found humor in an especially woe-begone Kahmden Pigeon's plight, she's so overblown. Jordan appears to be heading over to the Selkie Lakes to conduct business of some sort...I wonder what he could be up to? Brandy seems interested in their exceptionally fine line of satin lingerie, but I'm sure there are other reasons for his catching a ride to the Lakes. Hey, may as well go together and split the fare, right?
Meanwhile, poor little Kendra seems to have awakened in the middle of the street right outside of the inn. Her head pounding and her eyes bleary and watery. Her entire life up until this point seems like a freakish blur. She feels as though she has existed for a long time...bu, that's impossible, isn't it? She appears to be about 15, though she can't remember when that happened either. How did she get here? Where is her family and what is this place? None of it look familiar and the air outside of the pub is full of an odd, lingering spice and the horrible feeling of discomfort. She will feel horribly compelled to get into that carriage with the other two before something bad happens.
Your goal is to make it to the Lakes with the Queen's party, since your carriage will be following theirs for the most part for direction. Meet up with them and maybe you'll get to have a special visit with the Mayor and the Spades Queen...if nothing bad happens...))

Well, this was just frustrating as shit. Jordan frowned at her mug of drink. Firstly, it was cold. Secondly, she had no idea what they had given her to sip on, only that the warmth of it and the heavy spices really did a damn good job at masking all its other qualities. Thirdly, the damn pigeon sitting next to her was making it difficult to do anything at all but worry about stupid things. Someone had been killed. Shit happened. Perhaps it was the will of the gods, perhaps not. Perhaps they'd just been at the wrong place at the wrong time. There was no sense in losing her own head over it, now was there? " You'd tink it was 'er own mother they'd killed,[/b]" she murmured to someone sitting near her - a beautiful Yarrow horse with the most amazing mane. Her accent showed through lightly, a clear sign she'd been out of the Benyan for quite some time. She glanced up at the clock, then frowned. She didn't have a whole lot of time until her carriage left. " 'opefully dey don't keep us all long, ey? Ain't got time fer dis.[/b]" This was a trip she was not looking forward to, and the sooner it would be over, the sooner Jordan could get back to the more enjoyable aspects of her life. Selkies and their bloody Lakes did not make up any part of that category.

Who would've thought he'd wind up back here? The now green-eyed muttbird lingers in the shadows across the way, watching the movement in the lit windows of The Fallen Wing. He hadn't really been paying attention during his little trip through the City, simply moving from one abandoned street to the next looking for houses to loot. He'd found plenty of houses but despairingly little of interest or value. So here he was, mostly empty handed aside from the fact that his foot was no longer causing him extreme pain. He was too far away to tell if they'd discovered the bodies yet, but Kaden wasn't really inclined to stick around and find out. The last thing he wanted was to look like he was the murderer stupidly returning to the scene of the crime. Just as the he prepares to turn away and slink back off the way he'd come, Kaden catches sight of something stirring in the street. Was that a child? What were they doing out here of all places, and in the middle of the street like that? He groans a little to himself, cursing his curious, bleeding heart as he slowly approaches the fallen figure. Odd, dark colors... but pretty and when he shook her lightly he found that her fur was very pleasantly silky. "Hey miss? You alright?" Perhaps she just looked young for her age and was actually a drunken patron of the bar come outside to black out in the gutters?

Brandy's ears when his neighbor turned his way to speak to him. He'd been admiring the lady with casual glances, reveling in that exotic pelt and appendages of hers. What a delight! He'd never seen one of her sort before, even if he'd seen a brief description in a book once. At her addressing him, it allowed him some level of permission to look at her more closely, a smile gracing his equine features despite himself. It was such a habit to flash that coy look of his. He ran his hand through his long mane of hair before giving an agreeing nod. "It certainly is inconvenient, I agree. But at least there's a show." He angled his head so very gently toward the hysterical Kahmden. "If I could at least catch the carriages before they have been monopolized, I'll be happy. I... certainly hope you aren't missing any important engagements."

Thank the Gods themselves, she'd been sat next to one who could take a joke! The last thing Jordan needed at this point was to have some other patron of the place in hysterics for no real reason, and the Chicken was really all she could take. More than she could take. The too-loud squawking was getting to be a bit too much. She gave the Yarrow a small smile, her whiskers twitching slightly as she did.
"Oi, ain't dat de truth.[/b]" She rolled her eyes, stretching out slightly and setting the mug down again. "Oderwise, dey'd be dealin' wit' a whole lotta Cards dead of boredom. You tink dat maybe dey 'ired 'er?[/b]"
In response to the Horse's question, she shook her head. "Nah, notin' of too much importance. Business-talk in de Selkie. It'd be a real shocker if dey was even on time to deir own meetings, ya hear?[/b]" Ah, the prejudices of the Benyan, hard at work as always. If not for the importance of her parent's memories, Jordan would have closed the Selkie accounts long ago. Lazy, fat bunch of good-for-nothings. "What of you? Where are you headin', after dis is finished up?[/b]"

There was darkness around her, and then a voice. Kendra felt as if she was swimming through molasses toward the sound, struggling against a deep dark tide that wanted to pull her back under before she reached the sky... She drew in a gasping breath, and eye fluttered open behind round spectacles. She blinked at Kaden blearily a few times, and it seemed to take her several seconds to fully comprehend the meaning of his words. "I... uh, I don't think I know." She answered honestly. She tried to sit up, but the dark shadows on the street and the bright lights of the inn seemed to tilt and swirl unpleasantly, so she propped herself on one elbow instead. She had a strange sense of being bigger, stronger and older than she should be, although she couldn't rightly remember how old she had been before she woke up on the cold ground with someone asking her questions. Oh, right. The voice, the questions... She tried to focus watery eyes on the source of the voice. Some kind of colorful bird. His demeanor was somewhat reassuring, she thought, as if he had things under control. "What is..." She wasn't sure what she should ask, exactly, as it seemed that she didn't know the answer to anything so far, which left a nearly infinite number of things to ask. "Where is this?" As soon as she settled on the question, she realized how little use the answer would be, since she didn't remember where she had started, or where she should be. The air smelled strange, and there was a palpable sense of foreboding in the air, which made her shiver a bit. It was... a bad time to be alone. The bird looked nice, and by being there, he was making her not alone. Oh, it was hard to think quite clearly... Her tiny wings fluttered uselessly in her agitation, fanning a sweet cinnamon scent into the air, where it mixed with the general spiciness in a way that was oddly pleasant. Okay, stay calm... make the next question count. People wouldn't tolerate too terribly many questions, she had learned that from her parents when she was small. How long ago had that been? It seemed like ages. Form the question, she told herself, ask it, listen to the response and process it. "Who are you?" That was probably not the question she should have asked. She ran a paw through her mane in a habitual nervous gesture and watched Kaden with an expression that was both inquisitive and frightened.

Kaden frowned a little as he looked the girl over. Not a victim of binge drinking, he couldn't smell any alcohol on her, but beyond that the possibilities were endless. She could have been drugged or knocked over the head or any number of things. For all he knew, she had memory problems and frequently blacked out in the street and this was all very normal for her.
As she sat up, her little wings flapping a strange but lovely cinnamon scent into the air, Kaden let out a thankful little sigh. She seemed pretty okay, despite the confusion. Once she seemed like she wasn't so disoriented, he flashed her a wide and cheerful grin.
"I'm Kaden and you're in the Outer Bazaar, just outside of the Fallen Wing pub." He motioned to the pub before turning his attention back to the girl, his previously cheerful grin dampening into a more serious expression. "You doin' alright?" He glanced around, trying to figure out if they were alone or not. Didn't she have concerned parents looking out for her or something? She was a pretty little thing, and decently ranked. "Were you out here alone?"

Kendra's head was pounding, but she managed to scramble to her paws. She gave Kaden a hesitant, not-very-genuine smile in response to his grin. "I'm Kendra." At least she knew that much for sure. "I would end up in the outer bazaar..." She sounded a little confused and a little irritated as well, although not at Kaden. He was being really nice.
She had rarely been to this part of the city before, since she was far too young to wander the city alone. At least she had been, the last time she remembered being anything at all... It seemed the more she thought about her past, the harder she tried to pin down any specific memory, the more it all seemed blurred and surreal. "I'm alright." She said, although her head was still throbbing painfully and her eyes stung and streamed. "I'm uh, not crying." The steadiness of her voice was probably enough to make this clear on its own, but thought she had best clarify, just in case, "I think I may have gotten some dirt or other irritant in my eyes when I fell." She knew better than to scrub at her eyes with her paws: that was the instinctive thing to do, but risked corneal damage. Better to let the tears wash out any foreign particles.
"I suppose I was alone-- that is, I don't recall being with anyone else. To be honest I don't remember coming here at all." This was perplexing. She could think of no reason she would have come to this place, and no one who might have brought her here and left her. There was no logic in this, and that was bewildering and unsettling. As always when she felt out of control, Kendra began to get angry. She took a few deep breaths in an attempt to quiet the fiery temper she hated.

Brandy stifled his giggle with the back of his hand, a more courteous laugh at her joke. Realmism didn't exactly surprise him, but in his eyes almost every realm (assuming they were of the female persuasion) were easily boinkable in his eyes. Still, he wouldn't let his personal feeling rain on this Benyan's parade; even he had a certain prejudice that women were superior to men.. and he was "man" enough to admit that regardless to what his own gender was. Well, at least he was lucky to have -some- parts attributed to the feminine body. He'd heard of a condition where men were nothing -but- male. Oh.. the horror that such a life would be.
"That's actually quite the coincidence! I was heading that way myself. Of course, I intend to utilize the area for its fine shopping opportunities. I would definitely suggest cutting from your work to give the area a look. I've heard it's absolutely fantastic." Brandy gave a thrilled little shudder at the thought of finally being able to see the realm up close and personal.
"Oh… but you seem a rather well-traveled sort, especially if you're a businesswoman." Brandy hastily added, hoping he hadn't insulted her.

Kaden gave the girl a sympathetic smile as the tears streamed down her eyes. He'd gotten bashed over the head his fair share of times and knew the pained streaming was very much automatic. Though, did that mean she had been bashed over the head? Considering she didn't know much of where she was or why she was there and that she previously presumed she was alone... Yeah, Kaden was going to assume kidnapping.
His gaze slid around the abandoned street once more. He didn't see anyone. He didn't expect to see anyone. If he'd thought this place was abandoned when he'd first arrived at the Fallen Wing, his second trip through had proven that it was double so now.. and with such an eerie smell to the air. He clicked his beak in thought.
"Do you remember anything before waking up here?" That was a thought he hadn't considered before. Possible amnesia would make this a lot harder to deal with. "Your name? Or your parents name?" He gave her a wry, apologetic grin. "Sorry to ask so many questions all at once, you're probably still a little discombobulated, but I'd like to make sure you get back home safely... Something weird is going on in the Capital tonight." He knew, he was missing a toe because of it.
