((Saethre and Lilac have chosen what would appear to be a poor time for a walk down in the Capital. The streets seem to be rolling with a small amount of fog and an accompanying odd spicy scent that can;t quite be placed.
In the one minute that they turned to have a little argument, it seems as though everyone else has vanished. How painfully odd. They'll feel oddly drawn down the street toward the Capitol fountain in the city square. A beautiful structure, it seems almost eerie in this light...
Mana has found herself in a very similar situation, having wandered away fro Owen for only a moment and then finding herself halfway across the Capital and alone!
Your goal is to locate one another (or if times are off by too much, Greenie, just move thyself) to the fountain at the Capital center. Once there you will notice that the water in it appears to have frozen solid...and- and there's a little girl trapped inside of the not-actually-cold-at-all ice! You can't tell if she's alive, but see if there's anything you can do to free the poor girl before anything horrible comes along!))

"No!" "Yes." "No!" "Yes!" "I said no!" "I want grapefruit! We are damned well buying grapefruit!" "Ma, grapefruit is nasty. It rots your..... toes!"Saethre and Lilac congenially argued together as they slunk side by side down the streets of the Capital. It was rare that the two went out alone, but the rest of the family seemed to have vanished in their usual pursuits of not being together, so it fell to the two otters to buy groceries, which was going to be a failed task no matter how it played out. Lilac drew in a deep breath to start getting louder, and coughed suddenly at the excess moisture that accumulated in her lungs. She peered around at the fog, then sniffed tentatively. "Do you smell that? Are we close to the pubs already?" Her steps slowed, and she swung her head around to squint through the fog, looking for a street sign. She came to a full halt when she realized they were in the middle of the street and not being run over, cursed at, or shoved - in fact, they were alone. "Ma? Where is everybody..?"Saethre slowed with her, shrugging. "I dunno. Maybe there's an epidemic of insanity and the city was evacuated and we missed the memo!" She quipped happily, then started walking again with a skip in her step. Lilac rolled her eyes. "If that was the case, we'd probably be the cause of it, and we're probably barricaded in.""All the more grapefruit for me~" Sae sang, now well ahead of her daughter. Lilac growled under her breath and ran up to catch her. The two proceeded towards the center of the city, unsure of exactly where to go.

Mana shivered in the fog, cold and vulnerable without Owen by her side, especially as the quiet avian was easy to miss in the fog - her brilliant swirling green and pink coloration the only warning. Were the Capitol teeming with the usual morass in human traffic, she'd probably have been run over. The very emptiness that embellished her loneliness also, in all probability, saved her life. At least, unless and until she had the foresight to take the distant teal and blue accompanied by purple highlights with a distinct steak of insanity into account. Then her health and safety would be placed squarely in doubt. Sadly, the very confused bird lacked the aforementioned foresight. Instead, her every languid step merely brought her closer to the center, and double jeopardy. Hunched defensively, the conspicuous kiwi attempted to camouflage herself in the fog, not entirely successfully. The swirls that might have helped hide her were after all, a fairly distinctive color.

Saethre and Lilac continued onward, bickering aimlessly about fruit, until Lilac frowned once more. She turned abruptly towards the fountain she'd seen, played in, made trouble in so many times before, feeling like something was off about it.
"Hey! Wrong way!" Saethre called out to her spawn, scowling after the girl, but when the smaller otter ignored her and continued on, she accepted the inevitable and scampered off after her.
They came up to the fountain together, confusion written on both of their faces.
"Momma," Lilac began, then stopped, one paw raised in mild horror. "... is that... someone?"
Saethre tentatively poked at the ice (but far, far away from the.. person/body) and quirked an eyebrow at the ice that wasn't at all cold. "I... don't know," She responded, far more serious than her usual demeanor. "It's rather hard to ask them, isn't it?"

((Greenie, go on a bit here, just take one or two posts to try and break the girl out, more people will be joining you soon.))

The mother and daughter pair stared at the ice for a long moment, then turned to stare at each other. Saethre poked at the ice again, then slowly withdrew her paw. "We should try to get them out," She said, but her voice lacked real conviction.
"How?" Lilac responded doubtfully. Her own magic was very weak, and Saethre's wasn't much better.
"Well, the ice isn't.. cold... maybe if we dump water on it it will melt?" The older otter responded, and created her gallon of water for the day and began pouring it over the ice without waiting for a response.
Lilac sighed and climbed up onto the edge of the fountain, balanced for a moment, then crawled out over the dry section of the ice. She began looking for weak spots in the ice, in the hopes that she could create a crack or two.

The fog parted upon a curious scene. A beautiful black otter, banded blue and teal, poured gallons of clear, colorless fluid over the fountain, presumably melting the ice, while a smaller otter, black, with purple highlights and white wing-like markings on her back perched precariously upon the ice. Mana blinked, her mind balking in pure horror.
Was the otter trying to drown her helpless young? Mana picked up speed, her feet carrying her forward without thought, as she drew level with the beautiful structure. "Don't -" she cried, distraught, words failing her, as she struggled to find the words to convince the larger otter to leave the fragile otter to the relative safety that the ice offered. Her wildly staring eyes fell upon a figure, trapped inside, her breathing hitched, and panic swirled, threatening to consume her.
Where was Owen, with his brilliant mind? The thought oddly, comforted and calmed her. What would Owen have done?

Both of the otters caught the sound of her cry, and turned to look at the same moment. Saethre blinked at the strange Midori bird for a few seconds before shrugging. "See, we're not alone, you worrywort!" Was her cheerful comment, then she went back to strategically pouring water.
Lilac slipped and slid back to the edge of the pool, and peered over the edge. She stared for a few minutes, peered at her unconcerned mother, then shrugged and jumped off to trot over to the green and pink bird. "Don't what?" She asked calmly, stopping in front of her. "There's someone frozen in there, we're trying to get them out."

((Not the most put together post - I'm not feeling too well.))
Stonewalled, Mana could only blink back at the black otter's blithe response. Her uncomprehending mind shied away from the unconcerned Mustelid, as she mustered an argument in the momentary pause. She opened her mouth, and the otter persistently returned to melting the ice under the weight of her horrified stare.
The avian started violently when the little otter jumped off the ice to trot over to her side. "Wha-?" she began, almost on top of the little otter's explaination. "Oh.My mistake", she muttered, embarrassed. "I thought -" she cut herself off mid-sentence, replaced the entire sentence, and resumed,"- would you like me to help?" she offered timidly.
Silence was a great healer. Her magic might not be very strong, but she reckoned she could create a gallon of water, and pour it on the ice, like Saethre. Someone trapped in the ice lent her the impetus to overcome her normal characteristically shy hesitance.
