((I'm going to assume that Nova and Lariel got out safely, though since they never got around to saying, punishments have been decided.
Nova seems to have been burned rather badly across the nose, when a piece of burning ceiling hit him in the face. A large, shiny burn scar, where fur will no longer grow is right across the bridge of his nose.
Lariel seems to have had one of her lion fish stalks burned off, leaving the one stalk blackened and crumpled while the others remain beautiful. Yikes!
As the building continues to burn, small, flaming blobs shoot out from under it, three of them, and begin to slide as fast as they can toward the meat shoppe! The rest of the building smolders as it slides itself into the basement and loses momentum to burn.))

Of course, the children were both completely ignoring her now in favor of cooing over the gross little blob. Eldy let out a disgusted noise and paced the length of the shop a few times, glancing back at it every so often. Part of her wished she'd brought Thaddeus with her on this search, but then, she had no idea it would turn into -this- much of a fiasco. But she sure would have felt a whole lot safer with the little Wurm by her side. Besides, he gave good advice, and as NO ONE in this little group seemed to have ANY sanity at all, she would have dearly loved someone sensible to talk to right now.
With a frustrated sigh, the Feline lay down in the street, feeling her tail shrink to its normal size again. The building was well and entirely gone, now...just ashes and...and a basement? Hello...had that been there before? Perhaps she'd find something there for her key to unlock...though she'd have to wait for it to cool off. Her tail lashed thoughtfully and she took a step towards it...and then LEAPED into the air as more flaming blobs came shooting out with a yowl of surprise. "HOW MANY OF THESE THINGS ARE THERE? SUITS, IT'S LIKE A PLAGUE!"

Well, it appeared that he and Bristol and Sergei had ran from the frying pan and directly into the warm cozy fire. A very literal fire. He watched the family reunion and subsequent family tiff with fascination and, if he were being perfectly honest with himself, no small amount of trepidation. He wished desperately that he still had his notebooks with him. This would be something to write down. His elevated state would probably color the events as he tried to recall them later.
He had to rearrange Cat a little in his head. The Tragic Backstory included an upbringing amidst a clan of similarly feral children. They, too, were probably inclined to eat people. Maybe they were the Invalid And/Or Shame Children of someone rich and powerful, who had dumped them in the wilderness because they were cretins...
It was almost unspeakably awful.
Quite possibly more awful than the MORE globules of flaming whatsitweirdness that were once again flying by them as they fled to...another shoppe.
"It looks like three," Zhenya said, trying to count. They really weren't difficult to see. Being on fire helped. The building, meanwhile, seemed to have settled. He remembered something, that had gotten posed to Sergei and lost in the small insanity of blobbiness. "We haven't seen a Kamina person. I don't think." He looked to the Torque girl, eyes wide. "Did you guys blow up the building?"

[[ 5th post down on the last page I posted with him getting out, but I like punishments and I will gladly accept it <3 ]] The rug hadn't covered him completely, but he hadn't fully registered that the bit of building that hit him in the face burned him until the adrenaline in his blood started to dissipate. And it hurt, it hurt quite a bit. Once he'd caught his breathe he stood up and, feeling dirty and disgusting decided to switch forms and see if maybe he could clean himself off a little better. Skin would be easier to wash, or brush off wouldn't it? He wanted all the black, petrol scented sludge off. Right, now what? Standing around here wasn't getting anything done so... they should at least explore a little more in the meantime and.... Bah, was she really screeching AGAIN? Maybe it was the throbbing burn on his nose, or his increasing dislike of the self centered feline, but he'd had it. She was making herself more and more of a useless nuisance the more she yelled and flipped out about dumb things. He turned and flashed her a rather stern expression that didn't seem like it should belong on his face. His tone was just as stern, but it was even and his voice wasn't raised but a hair. Eldy, shut up and put yourself together. The group was primarily children and.. .hell, not even they seemed as freaked out as the high and mighty Heart. So much for being as big and bad as she wanted people to think she was, eh? His expression softened as he turned to face most of the younger cards in the group. Alright, Cat's found but Kamina is still missing. Where do you guys think we should look next? What does she like? He looked over his shoulder at Eldy again, trying to involve her in a... positive way. She'd probably be sore about being talked down to... oh well.

One of the children from the group finally answered them, and Eldy turned to give him a small, tired smile. "Heh. All right. Thanks anyway." The key went back to her other paw. She raised an eyebrow at the question. "Ummm, no, we didn't. It got set on fire by those blobby things." She waved a paw at the little blobs inching away from the building, frowning at them. She was eying them carefully, but starting to calm down (the key was shifted back to her other paw).
But then...then, she was scolded. SCOLDED. By the brightly-colored man who looked younger than her. "Oh, well excuse me for being worried when my f***ing life is in danger, Mr. Let's-Play-Nice-With-The-Monster," she said nastily. "Where do you get off, anyway? You think just because of your Rank and Forms you can boss everyone around, huh? What, I'm supposed to just roll over like a good little 6 and treat every word that comes out of your mouth like the f***ing word of god, is that it?"
She was sick an tired of this man's attitude, she really was. Guess he wasn't as nice as he came off at first. Pah! If it weren't for the children and Kamina, she would just stalk off on her own. She would MUCH rather be in solitude than stuck with HIM. She almost wasn't going to answer his question...but then she realized that would be incredibly childish.
"She likes clothes," Eldy muttered, not meeting Nova's eyes. "Pretty dresses and stuff."

Lariel had had enough. She'd kept her mouth shut the entire time because this was Nova's "fight" and she believed in letting everyone handle their own arguments, but she couldn't take it anymore.
The Bobcat walked over to Eldy, reached her hand back and smacked the smaller Feline. Taking a step back in preparation for any retaliation, Lariel hissed at the woman. "Nova is twice the Card you will ever be! He is the nicest person I have ever had the pleasure to meet! You have been a little bitch ever since the moment we met. So you can just shut your mouth unless you have something helpful to say, because even though I do not like you, I'm still willing to help you find your Kamina and I know Nova is as well because he likes everyone unless you think your high-and-mighty ass is too good for the world."
She stopped, took a breath and realized her fins had spread the widest they could possibly go. This display alone would have been menacing and slightly frightening enough but the ends of each of the fins glowed yellow/orange as brightly as they could. Lariel felt a deep pain from one of the tentacle-like fins, but paid it no mind for now.
She spoke loudly for everyone to hear. "Something beyond our rational understanding is going on here. Now, we are all scared and worried. We are all going to have to get along," she said, pausing to shoot Eldy a nasty glare, "if we are going to survive this and find the people closest to us."
Taking another deep breath to calm herself back down, she glanced at Nova and gave him an apologetic look. She hoped he didn't mind her butting in like that, but damn it all if she didn't like anyone giving him a hard time. He had always been the nicest person to her, taking the time to get to know her, and never deserved to be treated like that.
"You say she likes dresses," Lariel continued, looking back at the Torque. "There is a clothing shop around here I think. It's definitely worth a look." The Bobcat watched out of the corner of her eye as the blobs still on fire darted into the meat shop. Her curious nature pushed her to go follow, but she didn't want to separate herself from the group.

Bristol had been keeping pretty quiet as the small group made their way down the alley. He was honestly surprised when the smoke had cleared and the alley had proven empty. But he had heard all those voices, hadn't he? The new adult had been pondering that fact, though grateful for no confrontation, when he and the others began hearing new voices from nearby.
It was then he saw the dying flames on what was left of a crumbling shoppe. He stared, open-mouthed, for awhile until the joyful cries of the avian-like siblings sounded at their reunion. Bristol smiled, happy to see Cat had found her family at last!
He'd been about to go over and introduce himself, curious if her brothers were as interesting as she was, when the large Fish-Feline slapped the other Feline after she'd begun yelling. Eyebrows raised he looked from one to the other. This wasn't the time for petty fighting! He chewed his lip, wondering if he should step forward and try and break the fight up when it seemed as though the BiPed took a step back and disengaged.
Feeling a little awkward and out of place, he moved closer to the three Cards he knew. He stood next to Cat, and glanced at Sergei and Zhenya. Maybe finding more people wasn't exactly a good thing.

Fiasco despaired. His brother was mad at him and the black gooey, which insisted on continuing to rub it’s face against his, smearing a grimy inky residue against the cannibal’s pale fur. It was like being hugged by a mud pie. He liked it.
He shuffled awkwardly, with his head bowed down low in order to appease his brother and looked up with blank eyes that threatened tears. The last thing he wanted was for his brother to be mad at him. They were supposed to be happy! Cat was here! No one was lost anymore!
Maybe find more gooeys for Cal? He suggested tentatively. Gooey no gets a name til we find Squishy. The Jossigy/Highlander suddenly sat up straight, his face set with a child’s determination. Thas right. Find Cal a Squishy!
They were on a mission. Everyone was trying to find everyone else, so it made sense to add Squishy to the list. After all, they wouldn’t know if he existed or not until they did or didn’t find him, right?
It was far from good enough, he knew. But he had to try. For Cal! Now how to find more gooeys?
Suddenly, flaming blobs flew overhead towards one of the other not-a-houses.
GOOEYS!
His plotting was interrupted as all the big, colorful Cards started yelling at each other. Were they mad because they didn’t have gooeys, too? The big yellow Card had turned into a human, and he and the fish-cat were both screeching at Eldy-cat. Fi’s eyes widened and his ears flattened against his skull as the fish-cat strode over and slapped Eldy-cat. He backed up into his brother and hissed at the angry Cards out of fear and upset.
Fish-cat! No hits the Eldy-cat! She help find Cat! Help find Squishy, too!! You help too, fish-cat!
The little cannibal's fear melted away instantly at the reminder of his mission, and was positively quavering with excitement. Yes! Yes, both the Eldy-cat and fish-cat would help them find Squishy and then everything would be all right again. He spun around in the direction of the meat shoppe and stopped in puzzlement as he suddenly noticed a weird, colorful lizard-cat with horns. Wow.
Lotsa cats… he muttered, entranced. Lizard-cat, you help too! He titled his head at the other young Cards by the lizard-cat and added as an afterthought, Not-cats help too, k?
Fi pointed excitedly toward the store and tugged on his brother and sister’s claws, urging them to follow. Without further hesitation or waiting to see whether the others followed, Fiasco shoved the empty jar at the black gooey on his shoulder – the gooey schlupped onto the container and held it – and loped happily down the street toward the meat shop.

The young cannibal felt at least a tiny bit vindicated by how sorry his brother looked. He would let Fi grovel a little more before he really let this go, he thought, feeling uncharacteristicly spiteful. But then... Fi was going to help get another one of the blobs? Cal perked up a little. It would be easier to catch one if they worked together-- the four cannibals had hunted as a pack before when larger or faster prey was at stake, and they worked well that way. He sighed at his suddenly-excited brother. "Can help." He agreed, a bit more grudging in his tone than he really felt. It wouldn't do to let Fi off too easily for this worst of all offenses.
Of course, all would be forgiven in time. The time would just be a lot sooner if he got a little friend of his own. "Cat, also help?" He offered, much more gently. Cat was sweet, and none of this was her fault. She shouldn't be left out. Besides, she was good hunter when she was aware of her surroundings, and this seemed to be one of those times.
As some blobs skittered past, he narrowed his pale, blank eyes at them. They were still burning a little from the hot embers of the building, and the twitchy way they moved made it look almost as if the inky globs were hurt by the flames. He would save one, and then it would have no choice but to love him forever! "Get Squishy!" He demanded, setting off at a run.
Cal was so single-minded in his determination to get a gooey little pet of his own that he was hardly phased by the arguing of the adults. Adults, and other cards in general, frequently did things that made no sense to him. Unlike his more tightly-wound brother, he found little use in getting upset by their antics, which were usually harmless, if annoying and confusing. There were other children there, too. He could relate to them only slightly better than adults, because the were more willing accept, yet they had such tiny concerns in life. "Toys". "Fashions". "School". (He envied them a little for the latter). Still, children were seemed to have some goals, some purpose in life that he couldn't hope to comprehend. Fi seemed to want them to help, even though it would probably be more trouble than it was worth. Fine. But he wasn't going to wait for them.
Calamity's tufted ears lay back flat against his head has he caught up with the middle blob and made a pounce to capture it under his talon, flames and all.

He ignored the feline's retort, he'd been expecting it really. What he wasn't expecting was Lariel's reaction. He was too nice to knock the feline around, but she certainly wasn't. Her turned when she rose her voice at Eldy concerned for the Heart's safety for a moment, but terribly flattered all at once. His voice just wasn't as forceful as he'd wanted it ot be.
Lariel ...
He was pleasantly surprised when she backed off without any requests to do so, but that might change if Eldy decided ot retaliate. He really didn't want to have to break up a fight between two members of this really odd group.
When she gave her softer response, he stepped over toward the oh os proud Heart, trying to look her in the eyes so she could see just how sincere he was.
Look, I'm not trying to toss around form, or ranks or be bossy, I'm really not. I'm trying to keep everyone together and as calm as possible and that just can't happen if you keep yelling, screaming and just acting as if you were alone. This group is mostly kids, you wouldn't want to scare them... or get them hurt would you? Please calm down a little, I promise we'll do our best to find Kamina.
And then an excited little voice rang out before he heard hte sound of claws and scuffling on the cobblestones. He turned around to see Cal leading the charge after some of the still flaming blobs. Oh no.... not what needed to be happening now!
Cal ... wait!
Too late, he was on a mission. Nothing left to do but follow him then.... right? And that's precisely what he did.
