Acantha eyed him as he spoke, silently relating to everything he said. It really was kind of unnerving everything had gone on in the last few hours - it was definitely a change she much preferred had not happened. Why just a few moment ago she had been . . .
Shaking off the wandering thoughts she eyed him for a moment. His coloring really was pretty unique. Surely she would have remembered if she ever met him before, right? He did not seem all that familiar to her, not that she really got out and spent time with other people all that much.
"The name's Acantha" She imparted the information by way of greeting. No one could say that she had not been brought up right.
Trying her best to nonchalantly look over his shoulder to confirm his words she asked, "You said there are others here too?", seeking clarification and trying to keep the hope out of her voice.

Monte's ears flicked forward then back as he tried to figure out her abrupt introduction. He wasn't sure if she was trying to be friendly now or what. "Uhm, I'm Montenegro. But, everyone just calls me Monte." He glanced away, and looked back to see her looking over his shoulder, almost as though he wasn't even there. It wasn't surprising to him, and, really, it made him feel a little more at ease, since Donovan treated him the same way.
"Ah, yes," the colt said, awkwardly hopping to one side to gesture with his head back the way he'd come. "My brother Donovan found someone, too, I think." He glanced back towards the girl, oblivious to the subtle change in her tone. "He's back over there, if you, uhm, want to come with us?" He swished his tail uneasily, hoping she would agree. He would feel better with more people around them.

"Monte, huh? You look nothing like him." She replied, the famous little Bander that her Grandma Minh and Auntie Mnem had. "You are definitely more colorful than he is."
Her ears perked at the mention that there might be someone else around here too. Was there not a quote somewhere that said that people should stick together or stay in groups or something. At the current moment it did sound like the most advertising plan of action. And who knew, maybe it she really could not stand them she could leave?
Glancing around at the gloomy area she was silently doubting that option as a reasonable one. There had to be some way out of this? Right?
"Alright, lets go meet up with your brother and whoever it is that he has found." Motioning with her paw she waited for him to lead them back from wherever it was that he had come from.

((Urgh! Something smells rotten around here! Looks like the little group might want to take refuge in one of the shoppes scattered around them. One is an old clothing shoppe...looks like it's in a bit of disarray...and it smells like a mouse and some sort of Horse...? Something else too, smoky and addicting... Another is an old blacksmith's shoppe. And the last appears to be some sort of diner on the front of an inn. Or...you could always head down the street where that smell is coming from. Careful though, it is a pretty terrible smell.
What's that!? Looks like something small is sliding through the shados on the streets...a few of them. Be careful, who knows what those things are.))

They were heading back down the lane when a sudden revolting smell struck her nose. Crossing both of her paws over her nose and mouth in a futile attempt to block out the smell she tried her hardest to calm her stomach down from the gag it had started.
Making their way a little further down, Acantha decided that she just could not take it any longer.
"Monte, lets stop and head in here. It reeks out here" Making a decision for then wither he was coming with her or not she turned to the right and headed for the closest shop. It appeared to be some sort of old clothing one . . . it definitely was out of style that was for sure. It also looked like someone had recently ransacked the place, though why she was not sure.
It also smelled funny in here . . . there was a slight smoky smell . . . kind of like a cigar mix . . . taking a deep breath she found that it was not really all that bad a smell. Most definitely better than the one haunting outside.

Monte hesitated, the nasty scent not just distracting, but very off-putting. He really didn't want to go towards it anymore, but he was also super worried about Donovan. He should go get his brother.
Except. . . Acantha decided that they were going into a nearby store. Well, maybe it would be okay to duck in there for a little bit? "Oh, uh, okay," he answered, though it didn't matter anymore than when he gave his opinion to Donovan; the girl was going off without him.
Worriedly, Monte hurried after her, stepping curiously into a clothing shoppe. It. . . wasn't very organized at all. He picked up his tail a bit without thinking, trying to keep it from dragging along the floor as he limped awkwardly into the building. At least the yucky stink was gone, but it still smelled. . . weird in here. Monte's ears went back and he leaned backwards just slightly.
"Maybe we should, uh, go get Donovan. . . ?"

((The old clothing shoppe seems to be safe, though something under the smoky smell seems a little...off, somehow. Strange. There are racks and rows of old clothing, some of it very interesting looking. Search it, if you feel up to it...or you could check out the weird noise that just came from the back...))

((Run up to the Lunar New Year, sorry! Spring cleaning, etc. I'll get to a response once we've gotten the reunion dinner and the visiting out of the way!))
