At the canine's prompting that the fight was truly about to begin, the mouse bounded up onto the balls of his feet. Crouched down so that should he need to spring away the force behind the movement was there, he watched the canine closely.
When the Morganberry shot forward, making his feint rightward, the mouse was distracted for a long moment at the new outcome of magic from the canine. While it was true that the two of them had talked about their fire abilities and what they wished to be able to gain in the future, seeing it was something completely different.
Watching the canine's fur break out into real flames the mouse was greatly impressed. Being something of a pyro it was was enough of a trill that it was at the last moment that he jumped to the side and out of the way of the canine.
Shaking his head at the barely narrow escape he could only chuckle. "Wot other kind of surprised do you have planned?" He asked, his anger slowly starting to fade under the adrenaline.

Anatolius watched Aderlass's eyes light up with a quiet thrill of satisfaction. There was no greater reward for all of his work than to have Ader impressed by it. None. Even as the canine reoriented himself and began to plan for a next swing, he couldn't deny his pleasure and before long his tail began to wag.
There was no suppressing the canine's joy.
"You'll have to wait and see now won't ya?" Toli laughed aloud, before wiggling slightly and letting a mock growl slip through his wide grin.
For a moment he debated waiting until the mouse struck, but eagerness was quick to overcome strategy. Ah well, he'd never claimed he was a great fighter... Still glistening with true fire, Anatolius darted directly at Ader and aimed another hook. He could feel the heat radiating off of his friend, but that was no deterrent. He was fairly certain that he could withstand the vast majority of fire that Ader could throw at him, save perhaps those white-fire hands.
And, if Ader managed to avoid being clipped again, Toli had far more tricks up his metaphorical sleeves.

Bouncing on the balls of he feet he lofted a brow at the canine's comment. Now that he was starting to find a release for the anger that was riding him hard, he was starting to be in a better mood. He was almost to the point where he could reply to that comment in a joking manner. After all, whenever Tolius said that he had a surprise it usually meant that it was going to be something quite unique.
Distracted by some of the flashes of memory - all of them much more than just pleasant - he was caught of guard when the canine started to dash in toward him again.
When the hit struck him across the jaw he flashed his heat higher out of protection, though it would probably not harm the canine more much than it had before. Stumbling back he whipped his bottom lip with the back of his paw.

Anatolius hadn't expected to clip his friend so easily, though he should have been more wary of that distracted look in his eye. What could have pulled his attention away just then? Well, whatever the case, it gave him a chance to prove one of his newest prides: his flame resistance.
It had been a troubling thing to get the hang of... especially with their habit of 'making heat between the sheets' which more often than not turned a great deal hotter than most people dealt with. Figuring out how to fend off the burns from such instances, or to keep from burning himself with his own fire, was really a pleasure.
So, when the fire hit him, Anatolius merely made a small noise in the back of his throat and nimbly hopped backward, tail wagging. "That's one." He laughed, winking at his friend, before abruptly spitting a six-inch arrow of pure flame at the other Morganberry. Ader's flame resistance would negate the actual burning of the arrow, but he'd still feel the impact if it hit.

Whipping away the trickle of blood from the split lip Toli had given him, he looked towards Toli, raising his head just in time to see the next move coming his way. Throwing himself forward in hopes of missing the arrow, he raised himself up on his elbows, now laying on the ground.
"Well now, we can not really say that that was very fair."
Anatolius really was something. There was much about the male that he admired, a lot he could also relate to. It really was a blessing that they had met by chance that one day, long ago, back before all of the plots had taken a hold and ruled their lives for these following years.
"Yeah, I would have to say it's my turn now"
Ready to really start the fight, he raised himself from the ground, stumbling a little to his right before straightening then suddenly launching himself at the male.

The canine grinned widely, a big toothy grin to accompany the cheerful wagging of his tail. Ader was impressed, Toli could tell, and that constantly drove him to do more and more with his powers. It kept his mind off his own troubles, if nothing else. Probably not the best form of coping, but Toli would deal.
"That's the only big trick I have up my sleeve, promise."
Toli's ears perked forward as Ader moved toward him, his thoughts returning to the sparring and not his bit of showing off. Ader could still probably kick his butt, but Toli was willing to take the chance.
"Come and get me, my Queen, if you can." With a teasing wink, the canine bounced backward out of Ader's physical range and attempted to keep himself there.
Were he to really need them, he still had some other flame abilities that he'd like to test the heat of, but his King's ability still came back and nipped him in the tail sometimes (something he'd much rather avoid in front of Ader). He'd save that for a necessity.
