He'd been running for awhile now and no one was chasing him ... which meant the old leveret trying to doll him up simply didn't have the will or energy to chase him. Good, now he could go about de-feminizing himself once more. It wasn't like he'd ever pass for a female anyhow, his voice was too deep, his features weren't quite right ... no, he was nowhere close to being female. Besides ... he didn't even like wearing bows, and the perfumes made his eyes burn. The one they'd splashed on him today was some sort of floral scent .... and it made him want to gag. He shook his head, pawing a bit at the ribbon tied around his ear before he felt a patch of dirt under the pads of his paws. Perfect! He paused, perked his ears forward and listened for a moment .... nothing. Even better! A wicked little grin crossed his features before he flopped himself down and started rolling around in the dirt. He wiggled and flopped, bringing up a dust cloud ... he just had to get this scent off!

Layla had found herself wandering a bit farther than usual to gather foodstuffs for the warren. She'd found the most wondrous edible mushrooms that would do well sauteed, but her real reason of coming out was to find tubers and berries. She was in dire need of both starch and sweetness in the kitchen as their supplies were running low. When one wasn't necessarily willing to use Jossigy goods, it didn't leave much else in this area. Layla was sure that her father would sort something out soon with rabbits from other nearby regions. But as she was rustling about in the hardy, sparse underbrush, she heard a most interesting sound. Laughing? Very deep laughing. Perhaps it was a Jack? Immediately, she was fearful, but she couldn't help but peek over a rock to see just who it was making the noise. The sight was both horrific... and comical. A most frightening winged thing was rolling about in the dirt, but it was hard for this.. almost dragonlike looking beast to appear menacing when he was rolling in the dust, a bow hanging, half untied, off his ear. Despite herself, she giggled, immediately putting a paw over her mouth and ducking out of sight.

The highly mutated leveret was flopping around in a similar fashion as a wounded bird would ... and enjoying every second of it. It wasn't often that he was able o just... go out and get dirty. The rogue leverets were quite intent on finding him a home, telling him that any Jack would jump at the opportunity to have something that looked so very unique in their Warren ... but he remained unconvinced. It also didn't help that every time the two male leverets mentioned a Jack in the area as a possibility the old Josiggy's eyes glazed with worry.
he'd been so wrapped up in his rolling that he hadn't heard her approaching pawsteps... but he couldn't miss that giggle. He froze instantly and in mid-roll, all four paws sticking up into the air as panic made it's way through his heart and into his strange, golden eyes. That... was another rabbit for sure. The other rogues had warned him about what could happen if one found him... and he wasn't too keen on finding out .... but that giggle didn't sound terribly threatening ...
He rolled over onto his belly, lifted himself up onto his toes and unfurled his wings ... trying to look as big as possible just in case he was mistaken about this strangers threat level.
Who is there?

Her ears were the first to peek up over the rock, standing upright and swivelling like silly little periscopes to assess the situation. A mop of green hair came into view before finally a pair of curious eyes stared over at him.
"Hello..." Layla offered quietly, wide-eyed and taking the sight of this oddity in. So, those truly were -real- wings. They probably could even carry him in flight. At least, they looked big enough to. And that voice. It was strangely deep and very much tacked with a definite gender. Most leverets were nigh on sexless, most male leverets even being able to pass as female for most of their lives. What a horrible hand life had dealt him.
"I'm Layla. Are... you a leveret?" She was clearly confused, tilting her head to evaluate him. Her lower end was still hidden by the rock, though not by any true desire to conceal herself for the reason of her rot.

His own ears perked forward curiously when he saw her set peeking over the rock, only his stayed still as he watched her slowly appear from behind her hiding spot. Well, if she was being ao cautious to greet him then she probably wasn't a threat .. .at least he figured it was a she ... one could never truly be certain with leverests. Although it was horribly amusing to see the big, one-eyed Sorgaire leveret in his group trying to show him how to walk with that feminine swish .... always sent him into a fit of laughter.
When she spoke the second time he folded up his wings and tucked them to his sides while he lowered himself down to his actual height ... no need to fluff himself up like a frightened pufferfish was there? His ears drooped a bit when she asked if he was a leveret .... uncertainly crossing his features briefly.
I think so ...
He had some doubts, his mother had rambled so clearly about dragons, and his appearance certainly had made her case sound so.... reasonable, so he had a few doubts about actually being a leveret. Perhaps he was a dragon with some of his mother's rabbit features? That sounded a little weird... but ...
I am Craven ... do you ... live around here?
Might as well figure out if he'd run into a Jack's territory or not, he didn't want to run into one of them without a little warning... if he couldn't avoid it all together.

His hesitance in answering the question made her duck down just a bit more. What did he mean.. he 'thought' so? It all sounded so incredibly fishy to her. Still though, he didn't seem incredibly dangerous.
"Yes..., this is my father's territory. Master Rhodney." Slowly, she came out from behind the rock, her tail giving a curious little wag as she continued to evaluate him. Perhaps he was just horribly mutated. She'd seen one or two very odd leverets, and had even heard of some Does having wings. Admittedly they were small and useless. Perhaps they would clip the wings of a Doe if she were able to fly. She'd assume that it would happen to most leverets as well... no wonder this guy seemed out on his own.
"Well, it is nice to meet you." Layla finally said, offering a hesitant smile."Where are you from?"

One of his ears twitched back as tension rippled it's way through his body ... so he had wandered into 'enemy' territory! He'd heard awful tales being spun by his fellow rogues, the most disturbing was probably how the largest of the group had lost an eye, and he couldn't quite hide his feeling of absolute horror. The last Jack he'd ever had a lasting encounter with didn't help either, but he was making quite a large effort not to cycle through his memories and go back to that particular day.
The odd mixed-realm crouched a bit, his ears coming to life as he scanned the surrounding area .... just to make sure. What awful luck.... a Jack's daughter! further reason for this... Rhodney, to have his skin as a rug ... even if he hadn't done anything, and had no intentions to either.
He turned his worried gaze back to the green haired girl, slit pupils so narrow his eyes seemed fully golden. He did, however, try to keep his sudden worry from his voice ... and failed rather spectacularly at it as well.
I..... I am a rogue.
He dipped his head to her, fear not being able o completely drown his manners, and then he eyed the expanse behind him as well... just to make sure none of his fellows were in ear shot .... they'd give him a good whack for what just fell out of his mouth. But ... nothing. He turned his gaze back to the other leveret once more.
Your father... he is not ... around here, is he?

Fear caused her breath to hitch, the hair on her back standing up when he mentioned just what he was. She'd heard awful stories about Rogue leverets, how they'd snatch up others of their kind and sell them to the highest bidder. That wasn't something that was natural; leverets in power. The task of selling and buying was for Jacks and Jacks only. Would he attempt to abduct her like in the stories?
"I... I'm sure if I called for him, he'd hear me. He cares for me greatly. He won't let me get stolen away by some rogue." The threat was quick on her tongue, and she took a cautious half-step back. "S-so... If that was your intention... I'm afraid you will not be successful." She'd be damned if she let him take her away from her home; never had she questioned her worth, and probably wouldn't understand why some Rogues may in fact not put such value on her as to consider her a good financial risk.
