It was still raining, but the mud and the cold had no effect on the Jack as he ran - no, sprinted - back to his Warren. Muscles screamed with the effort of continuing to run after the fight and the distance that he had already traveled, but he pressed himself on, almost forcing his body to continue. Normally shining white fur was dirtied and bloodied, something that under any other circumstances would have irritated the man hugely, but was now ignored in favor of the bundle of dark fur that he held tightly in his arms. He could feel her bones - those that were inside of her body, anyway - under her coat, feel her shaking in his arms. How could such a beautiful creature have been so horribly mistreated? The thought filled him with rage and gave him the burst of energy he needed to clear the last hill. Vikenti crouched low as he neared his underground home, his own wounds only adding to the fith that coated his coat. He ignored his needs completely, focusing only on getting the frail figure out of the damp and cold and into his Warren, the place that would be her new home. Once that was done, he could cater to his own needs, but only then. " HEIKE![/b]" the man roared as he entered the door, desperate for help. As much as he hated calling on the antlered rabbit for anything, the Leveret was the best chance of help that he had. The man had a powerful work ethic and, out of fear for the Czar, would rush to his aid the fastest. That couldn't be denied, and Vikenti had never been the sort to ignore that sort of power. " Heike, come quickly![/b]"

Heike had been throughly confused by his lack of master that day. The Czar normally wasn't one to magically vanish without reason. Normally he yelled orders at the rabbit about how the warren should be take care of that day. Today, however, was completely different. That didn't mean Heike had a break, of course. He still did the normal work, and was about to dust his master's study when he heard his name bellowed through the halls of the warren. He dropped the duster in shock. Only for a moment did he freeze, but once the realization hit him he bolted out of the room and tore down the hallways. When he came to the front door where his master had called he stopped to look at the scene laid out before him. "Master....?" he almost squeaked. So he'd been in a fight and... was that...? Heike's eyes widened briefly. "I'll get the medical supplies, draw a hot bath and get a few blankets, sir, unless you want me to take a different course of action."

There came a time when Ashta really couldn't tell present from future or past. Everything just.. became a blur. She remembered the Need, that.. driving Need. She stopped eating.. begged, but her Jack wouldn't relent. He had brought home.. another doe.. yes.. and he forgot about her. Then there was rain.. her Jack was taking her somewhere? Then she was abandoned once again, staring up at the crying, gray sky as time went by. There had been noise.. a struggle? She hadn't been paying attention. All she wanted to do was.. slip away... Then.. things changed again. She was aware once again, if only briefly that the rain wasn't falling on her thin, soaked body. There were different smells around her.. decidedly of a warren, but not one she had ever smelled before. It was the shout that stirred her briefly, her tattered ear giving the slightest of flicks before laying flat against her back once more. ((I'm not sure how 'into consciousness' I should bring her so.. excuse her if she's kind of.. just laying there XD ))

((No worries <3))
Vikenti could feel her twitch at his shout, glancing down at her with an expression filled with worry. When the Leveret entered the room, his expression changed, a hint of panic filling his golden eyes. They needed to act extremely quickly if they wanted to help the lovely Doe, Ashta?, to recover as quickly as possible. If what her old Jack had said was true, then she would be losing herself to the Need. He hadn't even bothered to ask what she had done to be so ignored, especially with the beauty that she had. Her torn ear had never even come up as an issue in his mind.
He would find out her story from her lips and hers alone, unwilling to listen or believe to anything that his enemy had said. The man would be living out the remainder of his life without a leg as it was, and he couldn't imagine listening to anything a Jack like him, who ignored his own Doe to the point where she was in this state of abuse, had to say. He had no respect for those like him. Does deserved special attention, and to be made happy above all else.
"Good, good Heike. That will do well.[/b]" the man murmured as he walked through the walls of his Warren, entering his own room and gently laying the Doe out across his bed. She looked to be uninjured beyond the effects which starvation had on her. As for his own injuries... He had experienced much, much worse. Her needs were greater. "I am sorry to ask so much of you, but we need to move quickly. Bring me bread and water as well, she must eat something.[/b]"

"Yes, Sir," Heike said hastily as he bowed. He ran down one off the halls as carefully as he could without slowing his speed. Thankfully the emergency supplies were all in one place. Using his antlers he grabbed the medical bag off the shelve as well as a set of blankets. Blancing everything he ran to the kitchen.
Using his uncovered antler he grabbed the package or wrapped bread, and in an amazing feat of balance he managed to fill a glass of water and carry it in his mouth. Running back to the Czar's room with all the supplies he slipped through the door. Somehow he managed to keep every drop of water in the glass. He was getting good at this.
Setting the glass down on the table, shortly followed by the bread he glanced at the Czar. Shifting as best he could the Rabbit managed to get the blankets and medical bag off in an orderly fashion. He snapped open the bag.
"I'll draw the bath for you Master, unless you want me to take care of either of your wounds." He had quite a bit of medical knowledge after all--he was one of the Czar's servants. If the Doe was in trouble because of blood loss or some such something he could fix it. Otherwise... it would be left up to the Czar.

The loud voices and noises were an unwanted assault to her senses. Why couldn't they just be quiet? Why wouldn't they let her sleep? A weak groan escaped her lips. They wanted to make her.. eat? Hunger had hardly assaulted her senses these past days. Who can think of food whilst suffering from an anguish and neglect so much more real to her than such trivial things such as hunger?
Her eyes opened, if only barely and for a moment, looking up at the Jack lingering above her. He looked so.. concerned. Was that proper for a Jack at all? And such a strange, fuzzy face.. or was that because she wasn't seeing right? The light and excitement of the moment was to much for her, and she was forced to close her lids once more. She felt cold.. strangely. She hadn't really felt that before. Was that a good sign.. to feel? Then, her body shivered in an involuntary motion... a sign that she was cold, yes, but a sign that her body had very suddenly not decided to give up on the fight.
How silly.. was it really just the mere sight of a Jack that could bring hope to a poor little doe? Was she really that weak in mind? What was she thinking at all? Nothing was making much sense.. neither was her cynicism. Oh, how she loved her dear Jack, and he loved her... or at least he had. Oh yes, her thoughts were very well all over the place as she slipped in and out of her mind and back into the here and now.

"Just focus on the bath for now, Heike, that will be enough.[/b]" Vikenti said as he gently ran a hand through the Doe's long mane. She was so beautiful it almost hurt him to look at her and think of the injustice she had been done. When her eyes slid open, his own were peering into hers, and then she began to shiver. Damn. That was no good. "Make it warm, Heike! We need to warm her up, she is in terrible condition.[/b]"
He wouldn't lose her. He had just gotten her, it was too soon, and he had never seen anything like the state the lovely Ashta was in.
The Czar pulled a small chunk of bread away from the loaf, brushing a finger across her lips until they opened, giving her what she would take of the meager meal. When she was with them fully, he would present her with a full meal, but until then... There were more important issues. "M'lady Ashta... Wake up, dear lady.[/b]" he said softly, stroking her face as gently as he could considering his case of nerves. "I have food and a warm bath for you, but if you were so ignored as it seems you were, then I am worried... Let me quell your Need, beautiful lady.[/b]"

Heike said a quick "Yes sir" before hopping off to turn the bath on. Scrambling as coherently he could he tapped the facets on. He couldn't make the water too hot or too cold, not with someone in critical condition. His ears twitched furious in frustration as he struggled to find the right temperature.
Once he had found it he shoved the stopper into the tub. Watching the water fill up until the proper height. Why on earth had the Czar brought home such an injured Doe. What one earth had happened to her? And that spine of hers... was it really her spine outside of her body? How would that effect her in a bath if that were the case? He had never really taken care of a Hisstor before. His Master had exotic tastes, yes, but he had never done something like this before.
"Master, the bath is ready," he called as he scurried out of the bathroom to meet him.

There were voices, faint at first and made little sense.. but the way they were spoken... Her ears quivered at the very tenderness of it, his tone not rough with need but rather filled with worry.. even panic. The Need.. he spoke of the Need! Was that what was making her body hurt? He placed food into her lips, and she was compelled to chew and swallow. The small peice seemed to roil within the acid brine in her stomach, foreign and strange for one who had hardly eaten for weeks.
But no.. he was speaking of things.. she shouldn't do. No, she had her ear torn off for even being approached by another! With a piteous sound, she conorted strangely in his arms, hollow brown eyes straining and limbs grasping desperately. "No.. no no! He'll kill me this time! He'll.. he'll..." But he wasn't around any more, was he? He'd left her... he'd brought her to this Jack and.. and there was another... One that her Jack.. her former Jack, preferred more. For the first time, she accepted what was fact, and tears fell for the first time.
"... He loved me..."
((Sorry, the muse demands that she makes as little sense as possible. LOL))

For a moment, the Highlander didn't even hear what his Leveret had said, attention focused instead on the brown female before him. When he did, he gave Heike a curt nod, indicating that it was time for him to leave. As she spoke, the Czar felt his anger at her old Jack, which the fight had served to quell for at least the time, beginning to flow back into him, as hot as it had burned when he had first laid eyes on the beautiful and abused Doe. He kept his tone soft, working hard to keep his anger stored far away from her so as not to frighten her. "No, no my dear lady,[/b]" he said, moving in to gently stroke her mane, hoping that the contact would provide her with some form of comfort. "He won't hurt you again. Never again.[/b]"
What could she possibly have done to him, if what she'd said was true? "He may have at one point, but he neglected you for far too long.[/b]" he finally said, wrapping his arms around her once more and lifting her, looking at her as he walked to the bathroom. "Love alone cannot quell the Need.[/b]"
Inside the bathroom, steam hung thick in the air, and the Czar gently ran a thumb across Ashta's cheek. "We need to clean ourselves. Will you allow me to attend to your Need, beautiful Ashta?[/b]" he asked, wondering if there was any point to it. Even if she rejected him out of fear of her old Jack... She needed it. She was losing herself already, and a part of him wondered if it might already be too late.
All he could do was hope that it wasn't.
