The snake nodded his slim head, "Yes...it's almost all the way on the other side of the world. I haven't been there in a while myself..." his eyes grew dim for a moment, but the mood quickly passed, "Thank you! I really like your shade of purple, it's really...bright...and rich." he allowed his lips to curl into a small smile, snake tongue flicking out absently.
He sure did stumble over his words! Viviane smiled warmly, trying to encourage the creature. He seemed to think he was saying something strange...but Viviane understood what he had meant the first time. "That sounds reasonible. Lead the way then." This time he had a happier smile on his face, ready to start the journey. He was excited to maybe show the ferret around the capital, that is if Perth didn't decide to go back home after escorting him back. Viviane hoped he would stick around...maybe he could get some time off from Roxanne...and maybe he could convince the creature to travel to some other regions. But he was getting ahead of himself. Was he really that desperate for friends? It seemed so.

He nodded readily to the comment about the distance, wow... That really was far away, he'd never really been able to figure it out from those old maps. Of course he still didn't get it, that'd probably come through more clearly when they got on the road.
The reaction to the compliment was a bit more... awkwardly accepted as he blushed and hung his head bit more, glancing around at the ground for a few moments, although when he caught sight of that much more... sincere smile he felt a little better. "Umm... Thanks." He made a few tiny hops down the road as he made sure that she was following, before picking up a more normal pace. "It's not too far away," he glanced back as he took the lead... He did sort of wonder why Vivian didn't have any traveling supplies.
He didn't make any comment on that until he reached what could probably be described as a somewhat glorified, and overgrown shack. It nearly blended in with the terrain off to the side of the road that one could hardly tell someone lived there. Perth didn't spend long though, he just hopped over and pushed the door open just enough to poke his head inside. It sounded like he had a brief discussion with someone before he pulled his head back. "Ah uhm... Do you want me to grab you some food while we're here?" He heard that snakes could go without eating for a long time, but she was looking very skinny...

He slithered alongside the ferret, making sure to give him a slight lead, since he didn't know where they were going. It didn't take much for Viviane to catch up to Perth, snakes were rather good at speed, what with their slithering, but still he slowed it more to make sure he didn't offend the...mobilly challanged creature. Perth didn't lie, before long they were in front of his house, and Viviane waited on the road for him. He admired the outside of the creature's house. It wasn't much, but it seemed cozy and happy in it's own way, or maybe he was just projecting that. Viviane had always hoped that one day he would be able to escape his profession and living in a nice little cozy house...maybe with a pond. But there he went...daydreaming again about things that were for other people...
He smiled, even though inside he felt numb. It was sweet of the man to care enough to ask. It wasn't every day that he was treated to food. "Bring what you need for yourself...I promise I'll be fine..." Viviane called to him. Truth was, he was really kind of lying. He did need food, but that was a matter that he had to deal with for himself. It was mostly because money was tight, and he didn't feel right using money that wasn't his, so he didn't eat as long as he was outside the gang's territory. At least there he gave money towards getting food. Viviane knew he was a bit of a charity case...but he rather not be treated that way so much if he could help it. It's just the way things were...even if he didn't like it. He sighed....suits...he was turning into Eros with that kind of thinking! He looked down the road a bit.

Perth stuck his head back inside the house just long enough to snatch something that must have been hanging near to the door... And it was lucky he was quick, because the door just about slammed on his nose as he happily? turned away and hopped back up to the road. What he had grabbed appeared to be a small leather pouch, which with several very awkward, and practiced looking maneuvers he managed to secure to himself... It was pretty good considering he had his forelegs chained together.
He adjusted himself after everything was in place, and began to meander in the direction of the capital, going slowly until she came up beside him. "I've never um... Left torquehelm before... What's the capital like?" his voice held a rather innocent curiosity, something that seemed wholly out of place in an area like this. Hopefully they wouldn't be here for much longer though, Perth could keep up an alright pace even if it wasn't as fast as what Viviane was used to.
His mind was buzzing a bit with all the possibilities the capital might hold, he heard that there were hundreds of cards there, maybe even thousands! It sounded a bit exaggerated to him, since he practically knew everyone in his town but he had never been there. He also wondered if it was normal to see such colourful individuals... He really hoped so.

Viviane was taken aback by the ferocity of the force behind the closing door. Whoever was living there wanted him out fast...or was at the very least...upset. That was no way to be treated! Though, he supposed he couldn't blame Perth. He had stayed in a home where he was not wanted far longer then he should have. He said nothing to Perth about it as they set out towards the Captial City, or at the very least...where Viviane thought it was. He hadn't travelled this way before.
He smiled at his new...friend? as they wandered along the path. So he hadn't left Torquehelm before? Well, he was in for quite a surprise once he reached the city. "It's a huge place. Many neighborhoods, a huge bazaar, you can find just about anything you could ever want there..." unless you were me... he thought to himself before continuing. "To be honest...I don't exactly live in the...um...best part of town...but you'll see that the Capital is a really beautiful place....and lots of different people from all over the world converge there! I'm so sure we'll see at least one of each region...except maybe a Tugley Woodlander...they don't really come by the Capital..." there were other regions that didn't dwell in the city that much...but...well...they weren't as bad as Woodlanders.
He looked at the Torquehelmite and giggled a bit, his voice bubbling like a delicious champagne, "You look excited Perth....I'm excited for you...I can hardly believe you've never been to the capital...but I suppose that is just because I've lived there the majority of my life."

The truth behind the rather forceful closure of that door was probably a little less sinister than Viviane had thought, in reality the creature on the other side mainly didn't want to be seen by whoever was out there. Especially before Perth invited him, or her into the house.
Speaking of that particular tripod he was listening intently as he hopped along, he seemed particularly interested at the mention of a huge bazaar... Probably came from the fact he worked in a store that had relatively no competition, the idea of having such a selection sounded amazing. "Umm.. I don't exactly live in a prime location either..." He tilted his head to the side to give her a small smile, before looking ahead again. He did have to keep an eye on the road since his bindings meant that unexpected pot holes were a lot more embarrassing.
His blush returned as she giggled at him, he felt kind of... uh... Lost around her, he was too used to doing the same things over and over each day and she wandered around the world on her own! That must be amazing, but it did have the effect of making him feel like a sheltered farm boy... "It's hard to believe you've traveled so much.. uhm... on your own I mean... Isn't it dangerous?" He was starting stumble over his words again. "You're umm... so pretty doesn't that cause problems? ah um.. not that it's a bad thing just don't... umm... err... never mind.." he trailed off as his blush threatened to set his cheeks aflame.
Secretly, half of the reason he was accompanying her was to make sure that she made it all the way to the capital, or wherever it was she was going. Not only the fact that she had gotten so lost helped with this decision, but he knew there were a great deal of less than savory people around these parts.

Viviane nodded a bit. He didn't want to say that Torquehelm was as bad as the slumps of Capital City...but it was similarly gloomy. "I suppose we have that in common then..." he finally said, his mouth twitching a bit, as if it was deciding to give a small smile, but quickly deciding against it. It suddenly occured to him that if the ferret stayed with him long enough to maybe go traveling with him in the future...he would have to stay at the brothal with him. He blushed....how was he going to explain that to the ferret...better yet...how was he going to explain that he wasn't a girl before the others blurted it out? He hadn't been honest on that little....itsy bitsy....tiny detail. Well, not dishonest, but he certainly hadn't corrected the ferret's mistake.
Viviane shook his head a little, forgetting his worries for a moment to speak lightheartedly with Perth, "Well, I really haven't traveled that much in the broad sceme of things, there are still plenty of realms I've never had the chance to visit. I lived in the Selkie Lakes for a good deal of my childhood before moving onto the Captial City...and from time to time...I've made trips from there to the Hearts Court..." his words cought in his throat for a moment, before he cleared it a moment later to continue, "It's how I got lost....I...must have taken a wrong turn without realizing it."
The snake looked in front of him at the road for a moment, not trusting his voice to stay very steady, and waiting to calm down a bit before talking. He really had no business there anymore, he knew this, but he felt as if he couldn't forsake his promise to his friend. It was the compliment that finally took him away from his revere...and he couldn't help but laugh, blushing ever so slightly. "Well, yes...I do get a bit of trouble from time to time. There has only been one to two times, however, that I've gotten myself in a real pickle I couldn't really get out of...until well...it was over...but well..." he didn't continue. The words really spoke for themselves. He was rather ashamed at his nonchalant responce to the question, to...hell...the topic. It wasn't exactly something that people could easily toss up, but he supposed...it wasn't as bad as some of the other things he'd experienced in his profession. "But...um...what do you do for a living, Perth?" he said quickly trying to change the subject.

Perth's ignorance to the true gender of Viviane wasn't entirely to blame on dishonesty... He had jumped to somewhat of a conclusion on that, and even though there were a few little bits in his mind saying something wasn't right he chose to ignore them... The only thing that would really soften the effect of that little mistake was the fact it was probably not the first time he'd made it, sometimes the ferret was a little less than observant.
"Well, uhm... You're still very well traveled when compared to me atleast." he shook his chains a little bit to try and resettle them more comfortably after all that hopping... It made a pleasant jingling noise, but other than that didn't seem to have much of an effect. "I heard that the courts have magnificent gardens, I always wondered what one would look like that wasn't made out of mostly vegetables.." It was a little amazing, he managed to speak without stumbling that time! Although that was mainly because he got distracted trying to maneuver around another pot hole.
He went a little quiet when she said that she had indeed been in trouble a number of times, and thought he should probably say something along the lines of him making sure that didn't happen on this trip... But considering his less than convenient bindings he was quit literally a push over right now... He could just hope they got within biting range. And he gratefully accepted the change of topics. "Oh! Umm I run a general store in town, it's not very big or busy... But it pays the bills." He almost asked what she did, but something told him that may not be the best idea. "Don't worry though, I have some friends that'll run it while I'm gone." he added as an afterthought, he didn't want her to think that she was costing him business or anything... Even though she likely was, but oh well.

"Well then, we'll just have to change that won't we?" the snake smiled a bit, "I'll show you around the capital...and...well...maybe we could take a short trip to another region. I could use a break from work..." he hoped the ferret would agree, after all...he wanted to go someplace new himself. Midori Beach was suppose to be wonderful this time of year...he wondered if he might be able to convince the ferret to go with him...
Viviane's happy demenor quickly went downhill when he spoke of the gardens of the court. "Yes...the gardens...really are something spectacular...it's...why I go to the Hearts Court actually. They have a wonderful koi pond there...I take care of the fish there from time to time." he gave a small, half hearted smile, his words filled with what seemed to be unspoken memories. Viviane could never imagine joining the courts...not just because...well...he couldnt be part of the diamonds court...and the fact that he was a whore, but because of the memories being in such a prestigous place would bring back. He really did have to get over it.
He was glad for the change of subject. Viviane was curious about the ferret, and welcomed some look into his life. He had never met anyone who hadn't left their own Region before. "That is good of your friends to do that." He looked forward at the road they were traveling down. He really didn't recognize the area, and he couldn't help but chuckle a bit, "I can't believe I managed to get myself this lost. I'm happy you are accompanying me..."
