Perth simply motioned with his head which way they were heading... At the comment of her little horns being too 'manly' he chuckled and looked them over again. "Well, it fits with your name then..." He didn't know just how accurate his words were with that comment, and smiled a bit awkwardly as he hoped that didn't offend her. He hadn't managed to think that comment through as much as he would've wished.
Her question about whether they would be happy that he got free was a little more complicated than she likely knew. It is true many would be happy for him, a great deal would also be jealous... And jealousy tended to bring about somewhat darker sides in people, especially in such a depressing place. "I know many would be happy, but... I'm still not sure. I'd probably feel more comfortable about it if I didn't have to work with Torquehelmites all day." He hoped it made some sense... It made sense to him, even if it might be abit paranoid he was always worried about that kind of stuff.
Perth shrugged, stumbled, then managed to catch himself... Then reminded himself not to shrug mid-hop. He didn't have anything to comment on that, he imagined it was pretty nice of him but... Well, he hoped people would extend the same sort of gestures to him. Treat others the way you wish to be treated after all. And her vague mention of the 'job' again gave him the feeling that she was doing something he might not entirely approve of... But if she wanted to tell him she could, he didn't plan on asking about it.
"Umm... You're making it sound like you're an axe murderer or something..." He said jokingly and blinked at her a few times, she was talking the way he had been earlier! He wasn't sure what would make someone so nervous, although it was starting to make him feel a bit uneasy. "Erm... So long as it doesn't involve maiming me, you're pretty safe from de-friending." Truthfully he should've seen it coming, but his ignorance of the gender question was primarily because he trusted other people to correct him.

"You think my name is manly?" he asked, rather astonished, but not in a bad way. Oh how his mother would have hated to hear that back in the day. He mildly wondered what she would think now, probably say something about him being a fag and then ask him to get off the property that moment or she would call the Regional Police. He shook his head involentarily at the thought, and followed the ferret wherever he went.
Viviane simply nodded at his reply, still not completely understanding, but he supposed he was missing something. After all, he wasn't really THAT familiar with the region and it's customs. Who knew the reason for not freeing ones self better then a Torque. "I'm sorry to poke and prod about such personal things. I'm honestly...just a bit curious. And I think...well...maybe you would enjoy being freed. I'm sure it is a pain to walk sometimes..." he said indicating with a tail flick towards the chains, and leaving it at that. There really wasn't much more to say on the subject of his freedom.
He shook his head a bit when the subject came back to his 'job'. "Oh no! I wouldn't harm you...Like I said...I would never hurt anyone if I could avoid it." he said with a reassuring smile, before it fell a bit again. "It's just that...not everyone...treats me the same way once I tell them my job. They see me as something...dirty...and...disgusting...something unworthy of their attention. I just...." he sighed...well...there was no point in postponing the inevitable now..."You see...I'm....I'm a prostitute." Viviane recoiled instantly, expecting something bad to happen. Yelling...hitting...something that came with whenever he told anyone this fact. He sheilded his eyes with a tail, his world going black for a moment as he stayed put in a rather pathetic position.

Perth shrugged, maybe manly wasn't really the word he was looking for... "Err... Not exactly, more like uhm.. ambiguous? I know a guy named viviane as well... Although he is kinda girly." he trailed off a bit, realizing he was sounding rather foolish. So he gladly moved on to the topic of his chains, even if he didn't especially like talking about those either.
"I would love to be able to walk, just like umm... I said... er.. earlier..." he didn't want to admit the real, hidden reason was that he was pretty terrified of change. helping her to the capital was probably the most adventurous thing he had ever done (well, that he had ever done on purpose). To escape that specific line of conversation though, he turned his head to her and smiled. "Do you know umm... if there are any good doctors in the capital? I could use a new neckbrace..." he asked hesitantly.
he had been growing a bit anxious when she delayed in revealing what her horrible secret was... and secretly was rather disappointed that it wasn't something horrendously terrifying or amazing. As it was he just kept hopping as he had been, as if nothing had happened. When it became obvious she had stopped though, he stopped too and looked back "Oh... Umm... That's too bad... I bet there are plenty of other things you could do just as well." it seemed like he wasn't entirely sure why she was so ashamed... Partially because he didn't know how bad that occupation actually was, and also because he didn't like judging people so much on what they did, but on how they acted.
...Unfortunately that meant he was likely to die rather young.

Viviane was to ashamed that the ferret hadn't figured it out by now to correct him, though he was beginning to feel like maybe he should tell him and get it over with. Tell him he now knew two Vivianes who were pretty girly.
When no beating came, and when the jingling of the man's chains continued unhindered, he uncovered his eyes a bit. The ferret was looking back at him, and seemed...unphased by the news. Really? Did he really just accept the fact that he was a whore? Not even a word against it? His face lit up happily. He'd found a keeper of a friend. "You really don't care at all???" with that he slithered up quickly and wrapped his coils around the ferret happily. It might be percieved as an attack, but really...it was just his way of giving hugs...it was harder when you didn't have arms. He was just...so happy. "You are the most amazing person I've ever met!" he said nuzzling his head happily against the other's neck.
He let go eventually...and found his place next to the ferret again, a big smile on his face. It fell slightly however, when he spoke again. "To be honest...I'm....kinda....good for nothing..." he lowered his head a bit, sad to admit the truth...but thats what it was weather he liked it or not. He wasn't really good at anything.
"I...know a couple of clinics....I've...taken a couple of beatings in the past...and they treated me for cheap...but...I bet they would be able to supply you with a brace if you ask." the snake said, continuing to move forward...and leaving his last statement behind.

Perth seemed a little suprised at how well... surprised Viviane was, everyone had to make a living after all and someone in her profession should probably deserve more pity than malice. He didn't have too much time to dwell on this however, as she gave him that sudden, unprovoked assault of affection... he wasn't very ready to be coiled about in such a manner, and ended up falling over as she hugged him. Laughing a little bit he nuzzled her back, although immediatly blushed vividly as she spoke. "I uhm... erm... Thanks..?" he said embarrassedly, rather at a loss for words.
When she finally released him, he got back up and shook out his fur... A little shiver running down his spine as that added warmth vanished, he didn't want to admit he kind of liked the way she felt. Especially considering her job, she would probably welcome someone not so interested in those things. "Maybe you just haven't found what you're good at..." he hopped once or twice before pausing. "Or maybe you have... I don't know."
His ears drooped a bit when he heard about her beatings, but they perked up again when she mentioned they may have something available... And he was equally as grateful to leave that rather solemn statement somewhere in their tracks. However odd a snakey-line and a tripod ferrets tracks were.
