She slid the books that needed to be shelved into their assigned spots. Well now that that is done . . . she thought as she gave a stretch popping a joint or two in her back. She had been working the third floor of the Court’s library for a while now; at least long enough that she knew pretty much every book that was assigned to the shelves and most of their contents. When she had first gotten her job here, thanks to the wonderful Queen Theofulis, she had been a little shocked at the way the third floor had been cluttered. The books had been in good care but due to the lack of employees some of the books had not been back on the shelves in a while and there had been a major need of dusting, even if it had not been obvious to any of their patrons. She had made short work of the task though. Heading back to her desk she went to see what other tasks she could take care of before lunch.

There were... so many books filling the room. Ceren's mind was completely blown as she looked over the packed shelves, bringing one hand up and covering her beak with it. Beneath this covered hand, she swore. In all honesty, she was still wondering why exactly she was here. People got pregnant and had babies all the time, didn't they? It wasn't exactly something new and innovative. But all the same, she was nervous and eager to do something until that fateful day arrived, and the only thing she could think to do for now was to learn until she could be considered a guru on pregnancies and babies. The sparrow hated feeling unprepared for anything, and though she would reply as best she could in regards to a topic she had little knowledge on... Well. She hated to do it. Educating herself on a wide variety of subjects was one of the most important things in her life at this point. ...But she had never before entered the library in the Diamond court, and as every moment went by she felt more and more overwhelmed. She clearly needed help.

She was just shuffling through some papers when she heard the small chime that went off on the door whenever it was opened. She had asked that the soft chime be put there after she had realized that she would not be able to hear someone come in if she was not in the front half of the library.
Glancing up she saw a female avian enter the library. Though it was not uncommon, she noticed that it was someone she had never before seen in the Court’s Library; at least not on her floor. She watched her with a curious eye for a moment as to wither or not the female would need her help in finding whatever it was that she was looking for. From all appearances the bird seemed to be lost and overwhelmed but the mouse did not like to assume.
She cleared her throat a little to catch the sparrow’s attention. Seeing the rank she gave a low bow of her head, “Your Excellence, please let me know if there is anything that I can help you find.” she greeted.

The sound of someone creeping around made its way to the avian's ears, and she looked away from the towering cabinet of books. The mouse made her way into the bird's vision, and she could feel herself relaxing slightly. The woman must be the librarian that she had heard her father speak of. This little Esterberry was a blessing in disguise. She would save Ceren from the daunting task in front of her.
"Oh, thank goodness you're here,[/b]" Ceren exclaimed, putting on the front that she generally wore around new people. Since her induction into the court as a Jack, she had quickly learned that some natural charm got her much farther than the charm given to her by her suit. "My Queen is, uh... Shi's expecting, you see.[/b]" Ceren said, looking again to the shelf of books.
"I'm trying to find a book on pregnancies, so I can help hir through it.[/b]" there was a strange tone of affection and dedication in her voice as she spoke on the subject, and she gave the Esterberry a hopeful smile.

The mouse returned the smile. “I hope I do not overstep myself, but that is wonderful news. Please inform Hir Majesty of my best wishes.”
She was not sure if someone of such a rank would care of some low in rank like her’s wishes, but she figured there could be no harm in offering it. She had always seen children as a joy, so she hoped that Hir Majesty was the same and she had not just offended someone.
“Books on pregnancy you say? Yes, yes, please follow me this way. I would be more then glad to help you.” With a small bow she turned to lead the way to where all of the pregnancy books were kept.
She lead the sparrow to the left side of the library, bringing her to a book section which, to those who did not spend their whole day in here, would probably look no different then the bookshelves around it.

Ceren smiled at the kind words, nodding her head to show the other woman her appreciation. "You do not overstep yourself at all. I will pass the news along; I'm sure that shi will be delighted to hear that members of the court are sending along their well-wishings.[/b]" she laughed softly, shaking her head. "I appreciate it as well. It's been... an interesting time, to say the least.[/b]"
Ceren couldn't admit it, but the whole pregnancy had her feeling completely anxious. She hoped to whoever might be paying attention that she would be capable of doing a good job as a parent. This seemed to be the first logical step in doing so.
She followed the mouse, looking over the shelves extensively. Yes, this looked to be right - there were so many books lining the shelves that she was positive at least one of them would have information on the rather... Strange pregnancy that her Queen was undergoing. Thumbing the spine of one of the books, she smiled at the mouse. "You have my thanks. Might I get your name, Miss...?[/b]"

“It - it was nothing I can assure you, Your Excellence, I am just doing my job,” she said with a bow. “As for my name, your Excellence, my name is Idril.” She squeaked slightly on her name.
Since working in the Court she had learnt to speak and address those of higher rank and titles but it did not seem to make it any less nervous for the small female. She was glad that she had been able to stop herself from stuttering so much though. She was always afraid that she was going to say or do the wrong thing, causing him or her to be displeased with her.
“Please do not hesitate to let me know if there is anything else I can do to help you or be of further assistance to you.” She said waiting to see if she was dismissed or would be requested for further help.
