The delighted chirp put a toothy smile on him. She really did make cute sounds. He was glad that the soap was doing the trick, and that no one seemed to be to weirded out with the small bath the mix was giving herself. It was an accident after all. He shook his head a bit before responding, "Please, don't think anything of it. It's not as if we are in the courts right now, theres no need to follow court protocol here. Besides, it was an accident. Even the most polite gentleman makes mistakes from time to time." he hoped his words would sooth her, she seemed to be beating herself up a bit, and there really was no need for that in his mind.
"Kaiesha. A pleasure. My name is Claudius." he said, happy to be meeting such an outstanding young lady. In a way she reminded him of his sisters, which was somehow comforting, though it brought to mind the fact that they both seemed to be much more successful then he was. His smile faltered for only a moment, but he decided to start a conversation, since the mix seemed a little more comfortible with him. "You wouldn't mind if I conversed with you a bit would you? I need...my mind taken off of certain unhappy matters."

The bird watched the boy closely, letting out a soft and barely audible chirp. "I suppose you're right.. I just want my momma to be proud of me." she sighed softly, lightly resting her talons on the saucer of her refilled teacup. She glanced up at the brightly-colored buck, smiling shyly at him. "Shi's a Queen, you know. Shi has a title and everything... I just want hir to be proud of me so when I do dumb things I feel so embarassed..."
He really was quite sweet, wasn't he? She could feel herself starting to relax ever so slightly. She wouldn't let her guard down entirely in case the boy tried to pull a fast one, but she didn't mind spending a little more time with him for now. It was important, after all, that she learn to be diplomatic in the interest of the court!
It was hard if you were a diplomat who had never spoken with a male other than your own grandpapa.
"Not at all," the girl chirped, tiny wings fluttering slightly. She'd never done small talk before.. but she could manage it. "Did you know... You're the first boy I've ever talked to?" That was interesting for a conversation, wasn't it?

"Last I checked, spilling your tea doesn't really mean your mentally incompetent. Clumbsy maybe...but not dumb." he said with a smile, his last sentence teasing with a bit of a chuckle. He kind of understood the bird, however. His mother and his mother's friend were both Jacks...maybe not a Queen...but still...high ranking...and despite growing up in a family that was generally blind to ranks and cards, there were times that he felt he needed to show his worth to them to...maybe it was just...part of being a kid. "I'm sure that if your mom is anything like mine, she is very proud of you. I mean...you seem to be very put together and polite." he said reassuringly.
It was about then that he realized exactly what she had said. Dear Suits! She was a princess....what was she doing talking to him? He felt a little embarrassed...though he didn't blush...he wouldn't blush. "You've got some serious royal blood in your veins....are you sure you are even allowed to talk to me...?" he asked softly. He wasn't trying to be mean or anything, but he was worried....If she had been worried about looking stupid spilling tea on herself, then...well...what would her mother say about her talking with a Club?
Suits...and he was the first male she had ever talked to? Surely her mother would murder him if she found out. Someone didn't converse to someone of the opposite sex at this age if the parents had something against them. He felt like sweating bullets..."I can't possibly be the first boy you've ever spoken to...interacted with at all?" he just couldn't believe her...and part of him didn't want to either....

The girl blinked slightly at his question. She was fairly sure that she shouldn't be talking to the boy, but she wasn't about to let that stop her from doing just that. She had made up her mind, after all, that only by speaking to boys could she learn how to speak to boys for when she was fully grown and a Jack to the Court of Diamonds. Which she was, of course, completely determined that she would become.
Unless, of course, she followed her other passion and became a dancer. Either way, she needed to learn how to interact with both boys and men, and Claudius seemed a careful sort of introduction to both. He was nice, and that definitely counted in his favor.
"Well..." the girl chirruped, scratching at the feathers that lined her jaw with one absent talon. "There is my grandpapa, but that isn't really the same, is it? After all, he is a grandpapa, not a boy." He was also /The/ Queen of Diamonds, but that part didn't seem all that important to her. The thought that the boy was worried about his suit never occured to her - she felt pretty strongly that the Diamond marking was the prettiest, but his black one fit much better against his already-red chest.
"So, yes. You are the first boy!" she announced, fluffing out her feathers happily. "That's kind of cool, though, isn't it?"

She seemed rather calm about the whole situation, and that was partially reassuring, but he also couldn't help feeling like he had stumbled into a situation that could potentially get his ass beat into the cobblestones. "And he's family." the buck added with a bit of a nervous laugh when she mentioned that the only other male she had ever spent time with was her very own grandfather.
She seemed to cheer up quite a bit, another good sign potentially, and he had to admit...it was...kinda cool, being the first boy that anyone had ever met outside of family...but still, it unnerved him a bit, "As long as it doesn't mean that I get my ass beat...I suppose it is kinda cool." he said with another chuckle...though he immidiately cought himself, "I mean...um...get my bottom beat...." he smiled nervously. Igal cursed quite a bit, something that Astyana enjoyed scolding him for...and Claudius was used to it...but well...in front of royal blood...he wasn't sure how to act now...

The boy had tensed up horribly when Kaiesha had opened up to him about the reason to her nervousness, so it made her feel quite a bit happier to see that he was relaxing again, and even joking around with her! She giggled at him, nodding eagerly in reply to his comment. "Exactly!" she replied, clapping her forepaws together in a delighted way, stunted wings flaring out slightly. Her head tilted to the side as she spoke, and her cheeks darkened dramatically when he cursed.
Well, that was new! She'd heard people swearing out loud before, of course, behind closed doors and when important things got messed up, but no one had ever cursed so casually in front of her like that! She began to giggle, nervously at first, but it quickly became a delighted and musical noise.
"I promise not to tell anyone about our little meeting under one condition," she said, sounding thoroughly delighted. Her Diamond charm worked its way between her words, making what she said sound even more enticing. She leaned forward, grinning happily. "You spend the afternoon with me and show me a good time. This is my first trip to the capital on my own, after all.. But if I'm disappointed, I'll beat your ass myself."
Another fit of giggles erupted from her and she glanced around quickly, making sure no one heard what she'd said.

The buck had slipped slightly with his words, and so he took to being a bit cautious about what the young mix might do, but luckily, she seemed to take it for the joke it was intended to be. He smiled as she seemed delighted by the smallest things. It was kind of nice when you knew you could make someone happy without going to great lengths. Not that he was a cheapo when it came to dealing out good times, but it meant that the person was already kind of a happy person...and not damaged goods that you had to treat with some sort of caution. To many of the people in his family were like that. It was refreshing.
"Ok...anything..." he said between the pause, now hooked in for what she was going to say next. After all...he didn't want to get in trouble...though everything seemed much more lighthearted now. He had a feeling that he really had nothing to worry about...but just in case...She didn't really need her charm, but it did end up working it's magic. He laughed as she cursed and giggled. She had a rather nice laugh. "Alright...you've got yourself a deal then." he gave a rather fetching smile, his mind already working to figure out where they were going next.
"Would you like some more tea before we leave?" he asked. At least for today, Claudius had a 'job' to do...something he could say he'd finally done with his life...

When the boy responded in the positive, Kaiesha had to work hard from letting out another delighted chirp. Instead, she gave the boy a coy grin, toning down her charm ever so slightly. She had no idea that she was doing was called flirting, but she knew that it was a great deal of fun and she was enjoying herself far too much. His smile was charming, and she laughed demurely, fluttering her lashes at him. She could remember a time when she'd sat in the garden and watched her parents interact - they'd done the same sorts of things, hadn't they?
"More tea would be lovely, thank you." she said with a small smile, nodding to the waiter and making her order. When the drink was delivered, she took a long sip of it, loving the feel of the warm water filling her beak. Tea was the taste of home to her - her mother, grandfather, and father all drank it like it was water. The sparrow hybrid eyed the boy, looking thoughtful for a minute. She wanted him to surprise her with a good time, but at the same time, she wanted to know what he had planned for her.
Her blue eyes were fixed on him as she took another small sip of tea. "Do you have any thoughts for what we should do?" she asked in a conversational tone, her wings shifting slightly against her back.
