She was filthy, she was exhausted, her lady parts hurt like the devil had set them on fire, but she had no choice but to force herself to stay awake and deal with the problems laid in front of her. She had to get Quinn into the right state of mind, she had to get masks, and she had to kill Apocalypse. In that order, all in the next two days. Hopefully the first part wasn't going to take very long. The ferret reluctantly forced her body to change into her bipedal, and she passed out briefly on the bed from the pain before the maid roused her with a strong stimulant. She sat, dazed, for a moment before remembering what she had to do, and went through the door, shutting it softly behind her. "Quinn?" She called out, clinging to the door knob so she wouldn't simply fall over.

Quinn had been waiting nervously and on-edge for her Most Beautious Vessatha to return, or at least to receive word from or about her. Giving birth wasn't exactly an easy thing, as she remembered from when their first children were born. But still. But still! What were these children going to be like? What were these new little Lives going to grow up to be like? The first four were all so unique, so different from each other, and so different from the two of them as well. That was part of her joy in seeing the Life that she and her beloved had created together, seeing how they grew and changed and how they changed the lives of their parents. So much potential! And now...even more. She bolted almost straight up when Vessatha entered, darting over to her in a nervous jangle of bells. That didn't look right. Oh, her love didn't look healthy at all. "My Precious Ruby, you shouldn't be straining yourself! Sit down, please, rest yourself!" Why was she straining herself like this?

The ferret couldn't help but close her eyes in the face of Quinn's obvious enthusiasm, and she had a long moment of self-doubt. Could she do this? Could she handle this life, what her life was about to become? There was nothing she could do to make it better, though, and it was a matter of just getting through - she just had to get through.
"Quinn-" The ferret got out, then took a step and stumbled slightly, and flailed blindly for a moment before latching onto the otter's shoulder to support herself. "No, no, I can't, I'm fine, I'm fine... Quinn. Listen. Listen!" She said forcefully through the otter's rambling assertions, her hands coming up to grip the sides of her face so she could tilt Quinn's head down and make eye contact. "I need you to believe me that this didn't happen on purpose, and I had no idea this was going to happen, and if I had known, it never would have happened." She paused, her breathing ragged as she wished desperately that she could be passed out somewhere where problems didn't exist. "Do you understand? I need you to believe me, Quinn." The ferret knew, vaguely, that she was repeating herself and sounded mildly hysterical, but it was so far back in her mind that it barely even registered.

"Most beloved?" Quinn's dark eyes were wide, and she wrapped her arms carefully around Vessatha in such a way that the chain between her handcuffs wouldn't catch or snag in red fur. Still, her poor Vessatha was not in good shape! "Please...please, whatever it is, you need to sit down. Please!"
Whatever it was that had happened...wasn't good. It wasn't. But why was her Jewel so frantic about it? She had to know that Quinn would love her regardless of...well, regardless of anything and everything. The ferret refused to listen to anything else Vessatha said for the time being, insistantly manuevering her toward a lounge to sit down, to rest, because she needed to. Oh, she needed to.
"Don't worry, I'll understand. I promise. When have I ever disbelieved you?" She knelt in front of her Radiant Wonder, calling her scarf over her shoulder and wrapping it about Vessatha. Staying warm was important, right? She definitely needed to keep her Kahmden sweetheart warm, and oh, why was she out here, when she should be in bed resting?

Vessatha allowed herself to be maneuvered into sitting down, though that was likely a faster route to passing out. It was just so much easier, sitting - she could focus on Quinn's face, and not on how her limbs weren't moving correctly. She stared blankly at the scarf now wrapped around her. Such items that were so precious to Quinn and the life they'd built together, and she'd gone and probably ruined it. What did she want anymore? Did she even know?
"You do. You believe everything I say. Why? Why do you trust me so much?" Vessa muttered in a rambling tone, her eyes staring unfocused at the pretty black patterns flying over the pretty white fur. White and beige.. they were so close, yet how could two colors be so distinctly different? Why did her children have to have beige fur instead of white?
She snapped back for a moment, her gaze sharpening at the look of worry in Quinn's eyes. "Quinn, oh Quinn. I'm so sorry. You're not going to understand, even though you promised. You're not." She continued to ramble, the adrenaline running through her system forcing her pulse to race, her hands to shake as they attempted to grip at the scarf around her neck. "They're not yours, baby. They're not yours. Nine months of hormones and stretch marks and hours of labor only for them to be beige, oh Suits. Beige. They're not yours." She repeated the last statement several times, tears starting to run down her face almost as an afterthought, as she wasn't aware of them. The ferret struggled with herself in her inner monologue, losing track of Quinn's face for moments at a time as she wallowed in her emotions.
