At first he'd made the attempt to sneak in through the window like he always did with Aphasia.... but it was locked. This was .... bothersome but he would not let this little obstacle thwart his efforts. He was determined, and stubborn .... and he'd grown up here. He remembered the door his mother had used to travel in out of the court with no one noticing, a 'gift' from Lysaras, and carefully edged his way toward it. He took stared intently at the wall as he moved along it until he caught the subtle change in stone. And that was how he'd gotten in. Inside was a bit more of a problem, it was terribly hard to sneak around in biped form .... but he wanted to look his best for what he wanted to do. He'd been here enough times to have figured out where the room he wanted would be located.... and it was in the worst part of the court possible ... damn that ferret for ranking up before he came here to talk to him. Pointed ears twitched and swiveled as he breathed lightly, trying to catch any hint of sound before he was detected. He was in the clear... for now, but he had no earthly clue which one of these doors would be the one he wanted. He scented the air, searching for the one that had never quite left his memory.... and it wasn't too hard to find either. He followed the scent to where it was strongest and peered around, giving one last check before he tried the door. Locked. Damn it all. He brought up a hand and rummaged around in his jacket for a moment and took out his 'tools' and started in on the lock, carefully picking it and opening the door. He grinned and stepped inside the dark room, placing the little useful bits back into the pocket they belonged in and relocked the door behind him. The shock value this would probably make might end up being useful. And then he sat down in a chair closest to the Queen's desk and waited, blank, silver eyes fixed on the door and fingers steepled.

Mia lay mostly awake, one paw gently resting on Chris, the other forcefully entangled in the remains of his binding. It was still torturous for him, that what he had become had severed part of who he had been. He was able to push it from his mind during the day through work and the people around him, but at night, when his mind steadied without distractions, the pain and depression seeped back. He could only hope that exhaustion would overtake him soon and relieve him of it. The ferret was just beginning to drift off when a gentle scratching noise from the doorway suddenly catapulted him awake. He froze and tensed when the noise stopped abruptly. Mia swore he heard soft footsteps... and then all noise ceased, which scared him even further. Noisy assassins were much easier to find than silent ones. He tightened his grip on the canine beside him in hopes that it would wake him up; the last thing he wanted to was to alert whomever was in the room with them to his alert state. The bone spikes lying below the skin on his arms tightened, prepared to lash out should this person decide to try to touch him.. it wouldn't be a good idea.

Christopher was asleep. He had had a long day of grading the most horrible reports he had dealt with in a while. Thankfully the students were on break so he had plenty of time to wade through the massive amounts of utter crap that the young students were producing. At the end of the day he simply wanted to pass out and not deal with anything.
He had been enjoying the rest he was getting. Even if he had just fallen asleep, it was still getting more rest than grading papers. Hearing the sound at the door wasn't enough to wake him up completely.
It wasn't until Mia tightened his grip on him did he jolt awake. The canine made a rather confused sound as he tried to remove Mia's claws from him. He was entirely too tired to deal with any funny business tonight. They could do it after all those horrible papers were done.
Christopher paused in mid-motion when he suddenly realized that maybe the sound at the door had been a problem. Shit. Now what?

Pointed ears remained alert as they focused on the door, he'd definitely figured Mia wouldn't be in his room at this hour, but that was based entirely off of outdated information from back when he'd actually lived here. funny how he'd left to get away from the ferret .... and was here now to speak with him... he probably would have laughed if he didn't feel quite so on edge.
he missed the subtle noises the ferret made when he moved, but he didn't miss that little noise that Christopher made. That noise didn't sound at all like it had come from his one time friend. Instantly the hair along the back of his neck and spine bristled ... did he have the wrong room? Alarm made him get to his feet and turn his gaze in the direction that the sound had come from, eyes taking on a purple glow momentarily as he tensed. The last thing he wanted was to wind up in Donnie's suite... or someone else that he had no intentions of meeting tonight.
He tested the air again, no .... it was definitely a fresh scent .... and there was another one that was just as fresh ... how had he missed that? His ears swiveled back as the glow disappeared from his eyes .... there was someone here .... but he wasn't sure who, or how many yet.

Mia was moderately relieved when Chris woke up, but frowned at the excess noise. At least the canine had picked up on his suspicions.. there was definitely someone else here. He activated his dark vision ability and slowly peered over at the last source of the noise... and froze, staring. Whomever was in their room was wearing a giant bow on the top of their head...
.. and abruptly he realized who it was. "I smell weasel." He muttered, mentally and vocally cursing under his breath. The ferret slowly sat up, keeping a only somewhat relaxed paw on Christopher as a point of contact. He activated his water ability and poised it above Mo's head, glaring. "Turn the light on and tell me what the bloody fuck you're doing here, or I'll soak that stupid ribbon beyond repair." He stated flatly, not bothering to mask his anger and irritation.

Christopher was slightly confused at the situation. Before he had come along, did people normally slip into Mia's room in the dead of night? When Mia spoke it didn't help release the tension that he was feeling. Clearly this person wasn't someone Mia wanted to deal with, and clearly it was someone he knew.
A weasel? Had Mia mentioned anything about a weasel in the past? He honestly couldn't remember. If he had mentioned it, the canine had probably been reading or grading a different batch of eye bleeding papers.
The canine felt Mia sat up as he issued the threat. The canine slowly sat up as well. A bow? Was this person a girl or did they just have horrible fashion sense? His ears rose as he listened for footsteps to turn on the lights. This unwanted person could sort things out with Mia while he simply stayed between them... hopefully there wouldn't be a real fight.

He heard a bit more movement and his tail stiffened as he listened more closely... until he heard that familiar, angry voice ... yup ... that was definitely Mia. He relaxed his ears and tail at the threat .... not like water would really do anything to him besides get him wet.... unless it was like... mixed with acid or something. He highly doubted that was the case.... but he'd humor the ferret none the less, and bite his tongue on a joke that came ot mind in the process.
his tail curled ever so slightly as he moved toward where the light switch was most likely at, half expecting the Spade to drop water on him anyhow. After a bit of searching he found it and closed his eyes before flipping on the lights .... dark to bright wasn't exactly a good switch. He opened his eyes once again and stepped back into their visual range, tail tip twitching ever so slightly.
I came to talk to you and this seemed like the most logical way to go about it without getting a door slammed in my face.

As soon as he heard footsteps he switched his dark vision ability off, but kept the water around in the event the stupid weasel tried anything, well, stupid. He blinked a bit once the lights were switched off to adjust his eyes, then stared at disgust at the over-the-top card in front of him. "You look ridiculous. Why does my brother associate with you? Sweet Suits.." He muttered, then concentrated and sent the water happily floating in front of Mo before letting it settle down in the bathroom in the next room.
The ferret ignored the weasel-rat for a few more moments to rub his face, trying to think of ways to quickly get the stupid creature out of his room so he and Chris could go back to sleep. The thought brought about another thought: Chris had no idea who Mo was, or why he would be in their room. This was making out to be a jolly grand fuck of a night.
"Right. Breaking into my room and waking my mate and I up in the middle of the night is a great way to get me to talk to you. How about a polite 'go the fuck away'? Is it too much to hope that you were looking for Aphasia's room and missed?" He said in a straightforward manner, though the angry expression on his face betrayed his calm tone.

When the lights switched on the canine rubbed his eyes. When he opened them again to see the Lowlander with neon green hair dressed in purple he closed his eyes and rubbed them again just to see if he was hallucinating or still partly asleep. When he opened them up again he still saw the same Card in front of him.
Who the hell did Mia hang out with when he wasn't around? He looked over the the ferret with a expression of pure confusion. Why would someone like Mia associate with someone who looked like they were gayer than a jaybird?
And a Lowlander. What the hell was he thinking?
The way Mia was talking it was clear that he was an unwanted guest. Probably a dangerous unwanted guest, but none the less unwanted. "If you're a civilized man, come back in the morning to speak your mind. I'm sure Mia will hear what you have to say if you're worthy of his time," Christopher said flatly with a cordial smile of "fuck you."

you weren't supposed to be here yet.
He twitched his tail again, but kept his voice even ... and left out the fact that the canine wasn't supposed to be there either. At the comment about Aphasia's room his arched his brow... he knew very well which window that was ... and that it was left unlocked specifically for him unless the otter wasn't around. Although Mia probably didn't know that, or would want to know that either.... so it was ignored beyond that.
He twitched an ear at Christopher... who just had to be an Esterberry, first one he'd ever met , but he'd heard things about them, and almost snorted in an effort to choke down a laugh. He couldn't remember a time when the pink speckled mustelid had ever been civil. His voice betrayed his amusement a little more then the little smirk on his muzzle did.
You must not know him well then.
He turned his blank eyes back over to the ferret once more, head tilted ever so slightly.
Seriously though, I need to talk to you. It's important.
