Sitting on one of the benches in the Park she was soaking up the sun. The ivy that decorated on her right arm and tail danced as the wind blew by. She had grown used to the plants, barely noticing their movements or presence. Lifting her face to the sky, closing her eyes, she rested her left hand on her tummy. She had only just learned that she was now an expectant mother, and while the news was wonderful, her thoughts were churning with hesitations and other thoughts. Taking a deep breath she tried to clear her mind. After long moments she seemed to finally obtain her goal. Deciding to take a stroll, she got up from her bench. Walking around the Park on the trail she smiled as she saw the small children and couples. While she was definitely more appreciative of plants, it was always awarding to see people happy and healthy.

Nelo edged through the park nervously, hiding behind bushes and benches as she tried to decide exactly what she was doing in the city. The huge amount of people always made her nervous, though she was doing her best to contain it and not freak out and run out screaming or something else just as silly. The park was about as good as it got, she found, as the people here were at least more relaxed, so she edged her way over to a nice tree and settled down under it to relax. After a few minutes of simply sitting under the tree she found herself relaxing, if a bit warm; but watching the people go by was beginning to be a bit entertaining. There were kids everywhere, and a few had stopped by to say hi. To her delight a pregnant woman walked by, and she rose a hand in greeting. "Hello! When're you due?" It didn't occur to Nelo that perhaps there were more polite ways of asking that, but that was Nelo for you.

It took her a moment to realize that it was her that was being addressed. Tilting her head to the side in confusion, trying to figure out how the youngster had noticed that she was pregnant when she had only found out a few days before, she glanced down at her tummy.
A small blush spread across her cheeks when she realized that she had brought her hand to rest on her tummy again. She was going to have to be careful about that till she got around to telling Wyn.
Panic attacked her for a moment at the thought. How was Wyn going to take it? She was pretty positive that he would be happy to hear the news and would not leave her for it. After all everything so far had kept them together. She would have to tell him sooner or later though.
"Oh, hello there" She greeted the child, chiding herself silently for being so rude. Being a healer herself she did not take any offense to the random question, "I still have at least eight months to go."

Nelo blinked at her, beyond recognizing that she'd picked up that the woman was pregnant simply from the hand-touch. It was something she did sometimes, but rarely did she recognize it in herself. The woman responded regardless, so it hardly mattered. "Really? That's awesome!" She smiled up at her.
"Oh, I hope you don't mind me asking. I just get curious sometimes, and you look so happy, so I figured I'd ask." The badger-feline mix sat up and edged her way over to Elyse. "Sorry to bother you. I'm Nelo, what's your name?" The girl didn't notice the walking contradiction she was either; stating she was sorry and then asking her name. That's Nelo for you.

"No worries, my dear." She replied easily with a smile. "It was a very kind thing of you to ask."
Well this was a very interesting child, Elyse thought to herself. Being a healer had forced her to spend a lot of time around children, so she was not really uneasy about the situation but like most she was always at her best around plants.
That would have to change, she added to herself. Seeing that she was now pregnant she was going to spend quite a few years raising her children. Something she amazingly found herself looking forward too.
"It is a pleasure to meet you Nelo. My name is Elyse." She replied easily after a small giggle. The fact that the child seemed to first decline conversation and then strike it back up, especially so innocently, had amused her.
Children were a special thing.
