The kitten padded out the door to the balcony of his apartment, the beautifully carved wooden doll grasped gently in his maw. He went everywhere with that doll ... well ... he used to. sometimes he left it at home ... that hadn't been nice of that Kahmden dweller to try and break it! He set the ambiguous doll down on a pillow he'd pulled out here just for it and then hopped up onto the ledge. He stood there for awhile, quadruple hued tail curling and uncurling as he simply watched the people passing below him for a bit .... before the sun got the best of him. It just felt delightful soaking into the black strip of fur along his spine. He settled himself down on the balcony and peered down at hte people with half lidded eyes, purring in contentment as he not only absorbed the afternoon sun but people watched as well. He was the very picture of happy, content kitten up above the crowds.

Penelope was thoroughly disgusted with herself for coming back to the City. She hated all of these stupid people, leading what she found to be rather boring lives. She could never be content as a shop owner, or a shop worker, or a craftsmen, never leaving the City - rarely leaving her home! No, it was too boring, too.. settled, for her, and it was making her question why she was here again. The mix escaped from the downtown area and headed into the residential sector to try to escape some of the claustrophobia she was feeling. There were still people milling everywhere, but at least it wasn't as stuffy as the shopping district. She stopped on a nice cobblestone lane, found a bench, and parked herself for a while. She definitely needed to get out of here.

He usually saw the same people every day .... this neighborhood definitely didn't change much, but when a mostly white figure entered into his peripheral vision his eyes opened fully and he peered over the ledge. Now that definitely wasn't someone who lived around here ... and .... selkie floofs! He was always curious about selkies and other mixes ... there was just something about the fluff that he couldn't stay away from.
Hey you, you on the bench ... up here!
Now this would be a big test .... would this stranger talk to him? Ignore him? Get up and walk away? He did so hope she'd talk ot him .... he was bored. Miss Angora just didn't let him go anywhere or do anything ..... and he hated being cooped up! His whiskers twitched in anticipation as he watched the mixed realm below. him.

Penelope milled for a few moments, and just as she was about to get up and find somewhere more open to rest in, her attention was grabbed by someone's voice.. above her? Startled, she tipped her head to the sky and blinked up at the vague shadow on a balcony somewhere above.
"Uh... hello up there? Who's there?" She called up, curious but wary. She didn't know many people that lived in the city... if any, really. Hopefully whomever this was had the wrong person, and she could go on her way peacefully. Really, she should have just ignored them.. but her curiosity tended to get the best of her. "I can't see you, whoever you are - the sun is blocking you, you know." She raised an eyebrow (which would probably be unseen) at this unknown person, and waited for a response.
