Giovanni stared listlessly into the fire in front of him, his mind swimming with the possibilities of horror that lay in his and Alohilohi's future. They hadn't a single Leveret to tend to them, and he had no real Warren without one - and he had no means to get one at the moment. It was going to take some covert actions to get anything worth trading for one, and it was going to have to be done fast. He felt useless at the moment, though, sitting in the dark, waiting for the day to come so he could act, and begin to build his warren.. What would he have done, had he not found Alohilohi out in the cold, practically unconscious? He'd be beginning to go mad, that was for certain; his prospects for rebuilding would be dreadful. It was only depressing him to think of such things, however... his situation was bad enough without imagining the worst. The Esterberry shifted in his chair, and began rubbing at the tension in his forehead.

((hopefully i captured this correctly, let me know otherwise)) Alohilohi was concerned. Her new Jack had been in his office for awhile now and he hadn't looked pleased when he first went in. She knew he was stressing out about everything that had gone on in the warren and it killed her. She wanted to take away all his worries because he had been so kind to her so far. It bothered her knowing there weren't any leverets around... who would serve them she wondered secretly. She had gotten so used to the lifestyle that though she could easily do things for herself, it tended to be a daunting task. She needed to find a way to cheer him up, that was all there was to it. Suddenly an idea came to her. She went down to the kitchen for her Jack's favorite drink and placed it carefully on a tray. She took it slowly down to his study and knocked meekly on the door. " I-er....it's Alohilohi...may I please come in?" she said softly. She hoped this would help even the smallest bit.

Giovanni sat in silence, brooding, until the quiet knock on the door shocked him out of his morbid, unwelcome thoughts. He jumped, and stared at the doorway for a long moment, trying to figure out who it would be - but of course, it had to be Alohilohi. There was no one else here. He rather doubted intruders were going to knock so politely.
"Ah... Yes, of course, come in, my dear." He straightened his jacket and uncrossed his legs, though he didn't get up from his chair. The Jack quickly poked the fire back to life, then settled back in just as she came in. "Is anything wrong?" He asked quickly, worried she might have hurt herself somehow, or even gotten overly lonely. He was well aware that it was every Doe's aspirations to be the only Doe, but being totally and completely alone in the Warren was not equivalent. Giovanni rather doubted she'd ever been completely devoid of company aside from her Jack before, the poor thing. She'd just have to toughen up and deal with it if that was the case.

Alohilohi held her breath until her handsome jack invited her in. Hopping in slowly so as not to spill, she was worried he would be too upset to see her.
"Nothing is wrong, I just brought you something to drink. I thought that you could use it about now" she started slowly. She set the tray down on the nearest surface and looked up at him. She did so enjoy his company, she realized that they would need to rely on each other for awhile but she was alright with that because she would do what she needed to help him in any way. It was a small consequence to be with such a kind Jack.
It occurred to her that he must have thought odd things as she came in so abruptly, she hoped he hadn't been worried by that. "You look like you are busy though so I can just leave this and excuse myself to my room if you would prefer" she said nervously. She wanted only what made him happy after all.

The tension drained out of his face slightly, and he gave her the best smile he was capable of producing. "How thoughtful. Thank you, darling, very much." He was rather thirsty.. and he would never refuse his Doe's company, not in a time like this. If they drew away from each other right now, they would both be in for a mental battle.
"No, no, please sit with me. It's rather lonely in this office.. and in this Warren in general." He tilted his head at her, reaching for a glass from the tray, smiling. "Please stay?" He poured himself a glass, then poured her one as well, and handed it to her as well. "My business can wait, I assure you." It wasn't as if he had anything productive to do at the moment, anyways.. Only time would tell what would happen to the two of them.
