My family and I will be in Connecticut from Monday the 20th to Wednesday the 22nd this month. We're attending the wedding of a friend of the family, a friend of my grandparents. His wife passed away a little while ago at a ripe old age. He and a lady named Jeanne, a widow, met a short time later. They'll be getting married on Tuesday and my Granddad's the best man.
This is probably the last out-of-state trip they'll ever be able to take with age and mobility issues and whatnot, so it is quite a Big Deal. I volunteered to attend as well because I love David and I knew that my parents would need some help.
I'll be sharing a room with my grandparents and sleeping on the couch.
Seven hours. In a truck. With my parents and my grandparents. And a billion bathroom breaks.
Both ways.
Plus a religious wedding, which will doubtless be long and tedious, however poignant.
You know I love them. xD

How effing adorable is that!! I can just see two very old people standing up and getting married. That is so sweet! It makes me feel like even I have hope of finding someone to share my life with! I'm so sorry that you have a SEVEN HOUR trip though! Bring a book, an iPod...and anything else you can manage to take with you to keep your sanity. Maybe even stay up all night before the trip so you can sleep through it. XD Good luck, and that is really nice of you!

This being the night before the trip, I'm up pretty darn late. :3 Teehee. Hopefully I'll pass out. I'm very prone to sleeping in moving vehicles. Nat has stories to tell from school...
As a backup, I plan on bringing my DS and my iPod. xD Can't read in the car or it makes me a little iffy on the constitution front. But it'll be okay. I just know I'll be ready to (lovingly) strangle Granddad before we're through with the drive, and then again on the way home. Nanna will be just fine. Eheh.
And yuss, there's always hope! These peeps are proof. <3

I used to be able to read in a car when I was a kid, but as I got older I started getting car sick. So it's an iffy thing for me. XD
Good luck and be safe!

Awwwws. <3 A professor at my college got married at 79- he always made comments of lucking out with a younger woman who was 'only' 68. Cute.
