The Outer Bazaar was dark, and the night was heavy and pressing with the heat of August. All the decent Cards that lived in the Capital were in bed, and only those whose deeds needed to be hidden in darkness were out and about...or their would-be victims. The alley was dingy, shadows crept behind broken windows and locked doors, and the moon was hidden behind the thick clouds in the sky, if it even shone at all this night. All of this suited a certain Tulgey Persian quite well. She stalked through the streets, perfectly quiet and serene on long-furred paws, fluffy tail twitching. Her odd yellow eyes held a malicious gleam and her mouth was bared in a smirk. It had been too long since Nellwyn had let herself be free, too long since she'd taken off the mask of sanity. And despite the fact that her 'other half', the kindly but prissy maid that had control of her during the day, protested her intent, Nell had crept out of the mansion after everyone else was asleep and took a carriage here (the driver hadn't even known what was going on, as she'd taken control of the mind of his Ace of Hearts horse and hidden in the back until they'd gotten here). Now, she was on the hunt. She wanted to go wild. She wanted to make someone hurt. She wanted to kill.

Amarth wasn't a decent card, nor was he from here. The Selkie rat had some business to do and where best than to do it here? He had taken over some bad habits from other Mercenaries and sold a bit less legal goods around. His eyes spotted everything, him using his Moderate Magical ability that allowed him to look in black and white shades easily. It almost looked like day, except that it wasn't day, neither had this 'day' have any colors that usually brightened his mood. He grinned briefly and hurried further, maybe he could pick some hot Card up somewhere. He spotted a Persian Cat Card and froze. She looked like something, but he didn't really like the look in her eyes. He became slightly nervous and when he was, he hiccupped. He tried to suppress it, knowing what side-effects it gave if he did. He didn't want to have glowing eyes for one hour in an orange color! It wasn't bright enough to hurt his eyes, but it gave a rather odd effect. He couldn't think about it for too long however, he canceled the active moderate magic and closed his eyes tightly, hoping that she hadn't seen it. He wondered briefly why he had exactly chose this place to sell his things in! Why hadn't he travelled past the Outer Bazaar, that would have him in a less dangerous position. He however squired his shoulders (at least how much he could) and opened his eyes again. He exhaled his breath in one push and then scurried over to her "Miss." He spoke, addressing her; voice soft as not to draw unwanted attention of anyone that still could be around here, "are you interested in buying something?" He instantly continued, mentioning with one paw to the pack on his back.

There were many odd sounds in the Outer Bazaar at night, and the small hiccup went unnoticed. Nellwyn continued to stalk at an unhurried pace. After all, she had all night. Though she hadn't really been in this part of the Capital in months, perhaps longer, she was walking as if she owned the place. That was because Nellwyn felt more at home here than she ever would in Scrooge's mansion, where she worked and lived the rest of the time. Maybe Mrs. White, the 'nice' part of her, was all right with being there because she was addicted to luxury...but the street life more agreed with her darker side, especially on a night like tonight.
She only stopped when there was a small voice from beside her. One tufted ear flicked, and the Feline turned to fix her unblinking gaze on the other Card. A Mouse...how delightfully ironic. She looked him over, predatory, hungrily. Her smirk was dark, and she turned, facing the smaller Card. "That depends on what you're...selling," she said, bringing up a black-tipped paw and examining her own sharp claws by the dusty light of a nearby street lamp. There was an undertone in her voice. It promised danger. The Mouse would run if he knew what was good for him. Of course...she'd only chase him. A Spade he may have been, but he would tire eventually...they all did.

He flinched at the predatory look on his body and swallowed, wishing that he hadn't run to the crazy cat and asked if she wanted to buy something. He once more gathered himself together however and let a lazy look travel over her body, before meeting her eyes squire on. It was highly uncomfortable, but he was known for his courage sometimes "It depends on what you're searching for, miss." He answered, some arrogance in his tone "I may have what your heart desires." Okay, he admitted. That sounded kind of corny, but he didn't care. She was still a nice looking Card, maybe a feline and natural born enemies and all that. He simply didn't see, or he didn't care at all.
He kept looking at her, before shifting his attention back to the burden he carried on his back "Rare items, jewels, scarves, perfume." He listed off, seeing another Card scurry off, most likely doing something that also wasn't entirely legal. He didn't care, Amarth was being not too legal himself, especially at night where the chance of being caught where even smaller. "I also have.... other things, if your interest lies there." The suggestive tone suggested those less than legal things. His glowing eyes meeting her squire once more and one eyebrow rose "It comes at a cheap price." It was something that all those who wanted to sell something seemed to say.

What her heart desired? She doubted that, very much. But something about the foolish little Mouse...intrigued her. She didn't feel the need to just dismiss him outright. It could be fun to toy with him, after all...maybe give him a few scars...her eyelids lowered and her voice got even lower as she replied. "I am a Heart indeed, and I think you'll find I may desire much. Possibly more than you know how to give."
She twitched her tail as he talked about his wares. Bah! Common things, all. What use had she for them? Though her 'better half' was interested, damn her pampered tail. We should see what sort of scarves and jewels... No! If you want them that badly, we could kill the rat and take them. That shut her up, as she'd known it would, and the briefly odd expression that had come over her face at the internal battle (really it was more blank than anything else) melted easily back into the smirk.
"Other things, you say? What other things?" She leaned a bit closer. "We're alone...there's no need to hide anything from me. In fact it may be in your best interests to be perfectly truthful."

He gave quite the nervous grin as she spoke. She was a Heart wasn't she, damn. It was just his luck it seemed. He laughed then, looking at her bluntly "I do not know about that, miss." He nonetheless let it drop and shrugged her words from his back. He didn't particularly cared for his own hide, okay. He did, but he also took what happened easily, knowing that he wouldn't be able to change it, no matter how much he wished it could.
He stayed politely silent as her expression blanked out and looked around, maybe searching for other customers while she was out of it. Her attention however soon turned back to him and he turned his own gaze back. He didn't like the smirk that reappeared as if she had thought of something that would be very negative for him. If he knew the truth he would have been running far and wide, screaming his lungs out. But he didn't, so he remained where he was and observed her.
He kept looking at her for a moment longer, then let out a soft sigh "You know the thing; drugs, weapons, poisons." He trailed off, suddenly narrowing his eyes and taking a small step back "How can I be sure that you aren't a sniffer, eh?" The term that Amarth used to mention someone who worked for the police to catch those dealing in Illegal handlings. He took another step back, suddenly wary. He should have been more careful, but the delight and prospect of selling something had made his tongue loser than he'd wanted.

Nellwyn wrinkled her nose a bit at the -smell- of the man. Honestly, just because he was a Rat, did that mean he didn't feel the need to bathe? If she'd been the type at all inclined to pity (and she wasn't, not even in her saner moments) she may have felt sorry for the Rodent, given that she herself had once been forced to live in such conditions, fighting for a life on the street as she sought out her brother. She hadn't yet found him, the wretched !@#$^&. When she did...oh, when she did, Lysander would plead for death, as the fate she had planned for her revenge was far less kind.
But that was neither here nor there, and Nellwyn's eyes sharpened, not liking the Rat's attitude towards her. But perhaps, she'd forgive him his indiscretion if he'd but actually sell her something useful. "Weapons, you say?" she purred, but at his accusation, she stiffened.
She'd heard that term somewhere, and it only took a moment to remember where. When she did, the smirk returned to her face. "You should have thought of that before, hm?" she fairly purred, and one paw would move, quick as lightning, to try and grab onto his shoulder...if successful, she'd put her claws out, digging just lightly into his skin but not enough to draw blood...yet. "If I was as you suspect, then your little game would be up already." A weighty pause. "Luckily for you I am no such thing. Now show me your weapons!" At the last note, her voice raised from dangerous and smooth to rather angry, and her eyes flashed again.

He nodded his head with still a suspicious eye on her. He hadn't realized her thoughts, otherwise he would have felt more offended. Or he would have run to get a bath, he didn't like to stink, no matter if he was rodent or not. He still looked ready to bold, but he spoke nonetheless, confirming what she asked even more "Yes, weapons.." He winced as he realized he had said something stupid and almost apologized, tensing his body himself. He didn't care to run right now, he was already tired of searching the entire Bazaar for a customer and if he had to run for his life as well.
He moved away, but he felt nonetheless that paw wrap around his upper arm. His mouth opened and teeth flashed as he tried to bite her to get free. Her words -and the pain caused by her nails- stopped him in his tracks. He turned eyes, watering from the pain, back to her "Indeed, I should have." He forced out, voice surprisingly steady. He checked his arm, whilst her nails where there. She didn't use enough force to draw blood, yet. He was sure that she would do so without any hesitation. His mind already saying up a prayer to say goodbye to this life.
"Hmph.. I suppose that it's true what you say." He finally admitted, thinly. The corners of his mouth tugging down, he didn't feel happy right now "Ain't I glad to hear it." He forced out, not sounding all that happy. He tugged his arm free and shifted the load on his back and shrugged so that it would land in front of him. He opened it and took a few out, they weren't that interesting. The better ones laid underneath "A moment, yes." He finally shrugged and pushed the entire sack to her. If he could escape he wouldn't cry because he lost his entire merchandize.

Nellwyn didn't have a lot of use for Rats, really. Especially if she wasn't going to kill this one, and sate her desires to spill blood. But though she didn't really like his attitude, there was something in her that was hesitant to do the deed. Inwardly, she scoffed at herself. Was she going soft?
She made no move to lift her paw as he jerked away, nor to keep her hold...the result being that blood would possibly be spilled as he ripped himself forcefully from her claws. Either way, she'd lick her paw gently and then rest it again on the ground, the smirk returning to her face. "Of course it is. I only lie to Diamonds." A grin, although that itself was a lie. She had no problems with hiding who she really was, the dark desires that drove her, from all the world. She did enjoy toying with the Rat. But that wasn't why she didn't want to kill him, either...
As he jerked a few poor quality weapons from the pack and then hastily threw the pack itself on the ground, the Tulgey's smile went a bit cold. Ah, so he was a coward. Most of them didn't deserve to live, but she yet didn't care to waste her time killing them, either. So that was why.
"I'm not playing games here, Rat," she sneered, the anger back in her voice. "I am not a common thief, nor a greedy fool, who is sent away by the mere flash of gold. Let me see your real weapons, and we can talk over a fair price." See what he said to -that-.

He looked at her for a while, a laugh almost escaping him "Of course." He confirmed, shaking his head. Why would someone lie to only one kind of Suit, it didn't make sense to him, but then again. Her while being didn't make sense for him, harsh and soft mixed in one furry mask. It made him very uncomfortable, although he wanted to pry in the soft side that she should have there, somewhere.
He knew that he looked like a coward, didn't mind it. He knew that he wasn't, he knew when to retreat when it was best needed, like now actually. But he was in no shape a coward, maybe that's why he was foolish enough to stay here and play around. He looked at the weak weapons with a low glance, disinterested and he admitted that it didn't look too well when he shoved it away. The corners of his lips tugging down. "Hmph." The only answer she would get, taking the sack again, now rattled and throwing the more expensive things on top.
His paws dug in it again "I am just a bit impatient, miss." He finally spoke again, throwing her a brief look "The quickest way to get to those is to throw it around," a brief grin and he lowered his head again as he dug further.
He finally took out the more expensive things, placing them down with more care. He had stolen a few, gained others legally. He didn't really care, as long he could sell his things, everything else didn't care. Although he did like his life a bit more than his materials, those could be replaced, his life would be more difficult if not impossible.
