Random fun thing to answer, because work is over in 15 minutes, and I'm basically sitting here wondering why my tummy hurts and waiting till I can head out....
Does anyone have goals set out for thier characters? (Either a power or something to give them, physical modifications etc, or something you want to happen to them plot-wise: just any sort of goal)
Does what you want for your characters go along with what they would like to have happen in their lives, or do you delight to make things difficult for them?
Do you like to 'plot ahead' your character's progression, or do you just wait and see what happens?

Well first of all I only have two characters that are in my charge which gives me much time to think over them individually for my own personal goals for them.
First: Sabe: He is a Queen in the Court of Clubs... originally I planed on him becoming a transport tycoon, but on further thought on the characters personality I found that I had integrated much of my own into him. Truth be told he nor I have the heart to be that ruthless, so instead I geared him towards something of a greater respect... to be titled and make a difference in the world.
His goal: To make the world a better place for all... Mine: For him to have one bumpy disturbing road ahead of him.
Menefer is just a love struck fool and I let the RP guide him to how he acts accordingly. He has no real goals but that of how the RP dictates it.
^_^ so yea... I guide them but I usually let the RP lead on their progression.

I wouldn't call it 'setting goals' per say.... more like having aspirations for them and then letting RP see where they actually end up..
Osias is a grand example of this.... he was totally going to 'be' Queen of diamonds and have a whole hell of a lot of fun tormenting people and getting offed for horribleness.... however, Finistris came along and he no longer felt this necessary.
I like seeing where they end up themselves =3
I do enjoy tormenting them along the way though.... >.>

Awesome!
Some of my characters have point-specific goals (like biped form and a powerful ability for Dania), others have more abstract goals (Calamity's number one goal right now is 'MOAR BOOKS').
I don't know where most of them will end up, but I know that Alicia will eventually become a doe unless a rp shows that she hates her current Jack, and Joel really wants to get a gene splice like his grandma!

Ehhh MOST of my characters have goals, either things I want for them or things they want. They're all listed in their records, haha, XD *lazy*
Felix doesn't have any goals because he's a short-sighted lazy butt.

I think most of my characters have goals, I've just been...really bad about helping them achieve them. >.> *cough*

I think for most of my SD's it's just "play as you go". I did want Iso to become severely addicted to the painkillers and from then it was either epic meltdown or reformation... Luckily, the Iso/Abby "incident" helped accomplish this (or rather, helped me picked which one to do, haha) as she had a great excuse to quit. And now her life is way more interesting than she ever wanted, muahaha.
I have huge plans for Emery... but right now my goal for him in the Ticket thread is to pull him out of his self-sufficient survival mode and start thinking more "worldly". He's on a Dangerous ticket, so I fully expect him to be maimed (sad - he's so cute), so he'll be physically altered as well as mentally. Already the Lowlander murders are weighing on him.
Fiasco... well, I'm still just learning about him. I really don't know what his deal is yet. >.>;;
Marvolo, I think, is just going to be a little shit. I have no real "goals" per se for him other than that he's going to wreck havoc and cause mayhem. HEHEHE.
Farran is just along for the ride, and making everyone upset and CONSTANTLY reaping what he sows while doing just that. Um... other than that? I don't know. I'm just watching to see what he does, so to speak.
For most of my SDs I think I just "feel them out" and try to let them "speak" to me of their own accord. With some I can plot ahead, but it really just depends on the character. Some are easier to write than others. Sometimes something just clicks - for example, Farran is on a roll. He's just writing himself and I don't have to really focus or delve deep to figure out his psyche and what he would do.
As far as my wants versus my SDs' wants... Again, it depends on the character. Iso is usually somewhat difficult to write, so it's hard to say what I or she wants because... well, I just don't know. With Emery I'm delighted at the changes he's undergoing, but I'm sure it's difficult or uncomfortable for him. Though I think he probably feels his changes are important, in a way. Farran doesn't want ANY of part of what's been happening to him, but in his situation I'm highly amused by his misfortune and sort of think he brings it on himself. I feel a little bad, but not much. muahahaha.
Um... oops, this became really long. (So unusual for me, haha!)
Fun question, Harps!! XD
