Don't worry, you'll get it right next time. I've never tried to make mochi but I have heard it's very hard to get the proper texture. *hugs*

Wow.... Well when I got a bad kitchen burn, my dad said to soak it in cool water with salt for pain relief and healing the first couple hours, then go to silver-containing burn cream. Like this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_sulfadiazineYou can get it in CVS. My dad is a doctor, but a podiatrist (foot doctor) so he doesn't deal with serious burns but he knows about injury care and how to not let things get infected, so if you're reallllly in pain/worried, maybe go to the ER or your regular doctor.

The three steps to treating a burn: 1) Remove the source of the burn. (Already done.) 2) Cool the burn. (Use cold water, do not use ice! Ice is an insulator.) 3) Cover the burn. (Find some clean bandages and wrap it lightly. Aloe is good as well.)

If I'm still in pain in the morning, I shall find some of this cream. I have a feeling that by tomorrow it's just going to be a crusty and annoying scab.
Aye, I've been soaking it in room temperature to slightly cool water, removing it because I don't want to leave my hand in water for hours on end DX
My biggest issue is ANYTHING being placed on the burn itself is super painful. The heat of my own hand or just the pressure of the aloe gel going across the skin brings my pain up to an easy 6 or 7. Right now it's a burning 3-5 depending on how long I let it sit before dunking it in water again. I don't think I could put bandages on it. It would hurt too much. DX
Edit: Put some junk on my fingers from the first aid kit. I think it's helping. Pain is now constant because I can't dip my hand in water but it's a pleasant 2 out of 10 now.

;_; I shall hope that the burn heals quickly. I know aloe helps speed up the healing process, which is one of the reasons it's used for burns.
I believe the main reason burns are covered is to help prevent infection if there's a blister or the like. Leaving it open to the air is probably good, too. Those three steps are just what we're taught in flight attendant training in case someone gets a burn doing something like...I don't know, spilling our lukewarm coffee on themselves?
