(apologizes in advance for the length of this post DX) The tired Jack rubbed his forehead in frustration. Coming home had been. . difficult. After Aleah and him and parted ways after the ordeal, the first order of business was to go back to the Warren and assess the damage. It was almost too much to deal with, and in all honesty, he just wanted to leave it. He had spent the last hour going through and salvaging what he could. An idle hand went to the golden sword that now sat beside a kitchen knife on his belt. It was sad that he had to leave so much art behind, so much gold, but it just wasn't feasible to carry it to a new location. He had officially decided to move the Warren. After gathering the food that hadn't spoiled and feeding everyone he set off with what remained of his Warren. He took stock: 2 new does, his daughter, one doe remaining after the attack and her young doe daughter, and 2 leverets. Once he was set some trading would have to be done. He could hardly stand to look at the 2 does left from his original Warren, it reminded him of. . . he shook his head and kept leading his group forwards. Slowly, more light began to leak into the landscape and more plants, stronger trees, began to sprout up around them. He stopped and looked around, yes, this would do. Large trees surrounded them but a small amount of the Torquehelm dusk still clung to the landscape. He must be close to Avington. "Maezia!"The leveret hopped forward, sitting up straight in front of his Jack. He was still pissed off. During the Jack's sweep of the old Warren he had found his lenses. His. Lenses. And had taken them. He had always known the Jack would if he had found them. "How can I help Sir?"Anubis glared, the leverets new-found sense of attitude was annoying, and inappropriate. But for now. . "Find Laurelin, she's probably with the Does. Start scouting for water and food and do whatever the Doe's ask of you. When you have the lay of the area come back and let me know."Maezia nodded swiftly and took off, uncomfortably aware of Anubis' eyes boring a hole into his back. Once the leveret was out of eye-shot Anubis kneeled and placed a hand on the edge of a hill he had found, this would do. He drove his hand into the Earth and pulled out the first clump of soil.

The madame was absolutely torn about moving. On one hand, the Torquehelm was absolutely dreary and the thought of moving somewhere that might at least catch some amount of light as they moved closer to another realm was a delightful prospect... but didn't seem to be happening. Not to her liking, anyways. She absently picked up a few stones from the ground, throwing them at one of the tall trees to watch it bounce harmlessly off. Boring. Why couldn't he have left them at the old warren until the new one was built? Pout. Now they were stuck waiting while Anubis scouted ahead with that terrible leveret. She'd ring its neck if it so much as looked at her strangely again, so help her! He fur bristled, shooting a venomous look at the leveret that was assigned to watch after them. Useless... the whole lot of them. What would the stupid thing do if a rival Jack decided to jump out of the woods? Likely nothing. It would have been better if her ability allowed her to make leverets explode instead of food items. Her ire subsided just slightly as she gave a most evil giggle at the thought. "I don't see why we can't just cross over to Avington completely." Banvyne said with a great yawn, stretching her impressive wingspan wide.

Calista chose to remain close to her polar opposite, Banvyne, but not as close as she had with all the terrifying events that had occurred not long ago. She was still a largely comforting figure, but she wasn't quite as necessary as before. She wasn't useless either just.... something like a security blanket with four ears and a massive attitude. She didn't mind not being settled yet, really.... it was kind of nice to get out and enjoy sometime in fresh air.... even if it was largely dreary in this region. It sort of felt.... proper really. Although she did like how it was near the border, a little more cheerful but not too cheerful. She didn't know why, but she liked it.... but she certainly wasn't going to announce that with the Madame so close by. She'd seen and heard some things that made her wish to avoid the ire of Banvyne at all costs. Her gaze, however, kept landing on a constantly moving figure even as she, herself, settled down on her belly in the grass. She was pretty sure she'd never seen someone with quite that much energy in her short life. Ayanna had no idea why she'd been asleep, how long she slept, what had happened to the Warren while she was asleep or what happened in general that her father was missing an ear and had battle scars and... well, new does. She'd been full of questions, and her mind still raced with them, but the look on her father's face had definitely suggested he wasn't in the mood for any of them and she'd managed to keep her mouth closed. She felt like she was going to burst at any moment. She kept herself occupied by walking circles around the other two, new does, peering at them every now and again to eye their pretty, pretty mutations. Neither of them had any feathers though, that was a definite pity, and that one with multiple ears was kind of scary..... and that other one kinda reminded her of her sister with how much of a downer she was. She paused mid step and gazed around their surroundings before cheerfully bouncing toward her father and peering up at him with an adoring little smile before making her announcement. I like it here. It's like one of those happy median things. Is this where we're going to be staying? Is it?

Anubis wanted to scream. He hadn't rested yet and the adrenaline from everything had worn off. He felt more horrible than he ever had really. His Warren was non-existent, his pride was diminishing the longer his Does had no proper home. He funneled his frustration into the job in front of him and pinned his ears to the back of his head.
Banvyne was lucky she was out of earshot, a comment like that would have warranted a swift reprimand. After all, his ego was already injured and it wouldn't have helped anything. The Jack's back curved as his daughter hopped over with her boundless energy.
"Yes. This is it." GO AWAY.
He sat back on his haunches and turned to look out from the hole he was in.
"Why don't you go pick a good spot for the Garden?"
Maezia had found a stream nearby, honestly, it was beautiful here compared to their last location. Less depressing too. Nothing compared to the actual Avington forest though. As he came out from main tree line his eyes roved over the Does. Anubis was a lucky bastard, didn't deserve most of what he had. Instead of reporting back to the Jack first thing, he hopped over to the Does and gave a low bow.
"Can I help you ladies with anything?"

Banvyne allowed herself a long sigh when the young Doe bounded off toward her father, cutting a glance toward Calista as if to say Really? The girl's behavior was.. downright unbecoming. She'd need a good Jack on top of her and her out of the warren to mellow her out, no doubt.
Hm… speaking of a Jack on top of her.. she had yet to have the experience. And from what she understood, she wouldn't need it until after the first time. How frustrating! She wanted nothing more than to be treated like a proper Doe!
That… creature interrupted her from her thoughts, and her fur bristled. Maybe you could go drown in the stream? It was her first impulse to say that, but she had been quickly learning she needed to curb her venom toward the disgusting creatures. There was the whole issue that leverets were vital in order to keep her from having to sully her own hands with manual labor. Her nose wrinkled, as if she'd smelled something bad.
"Me? No. How about you Calista?"

Her lopped ears twitched forward where they connected to her head as she peered at the.... interesting looking leveret. What kind of realm mix could that possibly be? She stared at him for a moment, trying ot figure it out, before Banvyne's voice saying her name brought her back to the present and she gave a slight shake of her head. Her voice was soft and quiet, but she did hope this strange looking leveret caught her words right.
No thank you, I'm quite alright. However, I think you might win some points by keeping his daughter occupied.
She lifted a paw and gestured toward the colorful girl and annoyed looking Jack. She was quite impressed with how he pulled all his frustration back and only a little bit of it seeped into his tone and posture.
Ayanna on the other hand, wasn't so quick to catch onto her father's wishes for her to leave him be. Her tail, ears and whiskers twitched as she stood and watched him for a moment, pacing back and forth along the edge of the hole he was digging as she thought. No, the treeline would be a bad idea for a garden, too many well.... trees. What about maybe the other side, the one that was more gloomy?
She hunkered down, bunched up her muscles and made the attempt to leap over her father and his hole instead of simply walking around it. It was just more fun that way!

"Oh… goodness, I think you're right. But we don't have to bother the poor leveret with such a task." Her words were dripping with a sick mixture of malice and sarcasm, lifting herself up and moving closer to the working Anubis and his daughter. The thing truly -was- being foolish.
She hazarded a glance back at the Jossigy mix leveret. She didn't like the way it was looking at her. She visibly shuddered and gave a sneer before looking back to Anubis and his daughter.
"You there. Young lady? How about you come over here?" She gestured with a dainty paw, her smile curling the corners of her muzzle in something more of a smirk. "With all the moving and the sort, I've hardly a chance to really look at you. Come girl.. how old are you now? Hardly a child, anymore hmm?"

Anubis turned back into the tunnel and continued digging. Even if it was a one-room Warren by the end of the day, that was better than nothing. Room for each Doe. . . build from there? Expand, improve, it would take a while but it wasn't impossible. He felt wind at his back as his 'darling' daughter took a wild leap over top of the entry he had created.
He fingers clenched into the dirt around him and he nearly turned around when he heard the voice of one of his new Doe's behind him. Thank the White Rabbit, he sighed, realizing he was completely ignoring his new charges. What an impression he must be making. Anubis backed out of the tunnel, straightening up and brushing himself off.
"Maezia get over here. What the hell do you think you're doing?" He pointed at the hole. As the leveret passed him the Jack whispered angrily at him.
"You've let your pretenses down whelp and I know what you are. If you feel like surviving you better act your part. Perhaps if you dig fast enough I'll decide to ignore you for now."
The leveret stopped for a second at the hissed words. They were like a slap to the face. He'd known he was being careless but there had been no consequence, until now. He headed down the hole and started digging. Would Anubis kill him? Trade him? He didn't want to know.
The Jack headed over to the Does, nodding his head. He kneeled down, plucking a small bunch of flowers and made sure he had the Doe's attention. Suddenly, the flowers had turned to gold and Anubis broke them apart, handing one golden flower to each Doe, including his daughter.
"I'm sorry for ignoring you, I just wish to provide a proper home." Jack's Ability: Once a month he is capable of changing an object (not a living creature) half his size or smaller into pure gold. (This ability could be expanded to have amazingly disastrous effects).

Ayana was quite pleased with herself after making that leap, her tri-colored tail held high as she started to move away from the hole.... only to come nearly nose to nose with that weird doe. She stopped, perked her ears up and just stared for a moment before a broad grin broke on her muzzle as she moved toward the Madame. Maybe they wanted to help her with the garden task? That might be fun.
Well, maybe after question time, eh? She shook her head to the first question, her feathers dancing in the breeze the motion made.
No, definitely not. Dafina's older though.
Barely, but, hey .... it was something right? Speaking of Dafina, where was her sister? She stretched herself a bit to peer around Banvyne, as if searching. Hmm, she didn't seem to be around, nor was mother. Hmmm, weird.
But it was then that Anubis decided to give them all a bit of her attention and she turned toward him, suddenness forgetting about her missing sibling and parent at the sight of the gift. She accepted the golden flower and placed it in her hair amongst her feathers.
Thank you Daddy.
Calista, not wanting to be left alone nor too far from the conversation, got up onto her paws and wandered over to where Ayanna and Banvyne were. She gave her, well, her sister a once over, whiskers twitching as she did. She had to admit, that was one impressive mane she had there. She also wondered just how long it really was, since it seemed to be a little retrained.
And then Anubis was putting that creepy little leveret to work and coming to pay them some attention. Not that she'd minded lounging in the grass while he worked, but... it would be nice to have a little chat, wouldn't it?
She was surprised when he offered them such a pretty gift, and amazed that he could do such a thing all at once, Gratitude sparkled in her crystal blue eyes as she accepted the gift, her gray fur not quite being able to hide the flush that colored her furry cheeks.
Why.... thank you Anubis.I... you didn't have to.
She flashed him a shy smile before playing with the petals of the flower that was now made of a precious metal versus anything truly living. It was quite lovely and.... thoughtful in her opinion.

Banvyne accepted the flower most gingerly, twirling it between her paw pads before bringing it to her nose to gingerly wiggle the soft padding there against it. Turned to gold? Yes, this was acceptable.
"Oh, not a problem, Dear. Getting ground over our head is an important task. I would hardly consider that neglect to keep our pretty heads from getting rained on."
That Calista.. so coy and virginal. Banvyne truly was the opposite of that creature. For all that she'd never been with a Jack herself, she felt ultimately more entitled to a Jack's affections and was not so easily brought to a blush by a golden flower. Though such an ability… she hardly saw how it was useful for a Jack aside from having a way to supply oneself with gold.
Hm. Maybe not so useless. His abilities pertaining to fighting were more impressive to her.
"Didn't have to, but any good Jack knows it's good to pamper his girls from time to time, hmm? I certainly don't mind." She peered coyly from behind her flower before tucking it behind one of her horns.
Subject change. "Darling Jack, your daughter has grown so well. Goodness, she's practically grown. What an impressive and desirable mane." Now, what the Doe was -really- hinting at was in fact… the Doe was grown. As in not a baby any more. But.. with tact, yes?
