Jarvis had not been to the city in quite a while, and had found that many things had moved or had been replaced. Luckily he wasn't here for any truly specific reason other then to take a break from the Marsh for awhile, a vacation of sorts if you will. He also had a guilty little pleasure known as people watching, and what better place to do it then the Capitol? Green eyes wandered over the buildings as well as the people and, caught up in his happy little moment, Jarvis even began to hum a little tune as he strode down the lane, nodding to any who he noticed turning their attention to him. He didn't have his spear presently with him, which made him feel a bit off, but it was a lovely day none the less and he had every intention of enjoying it as well. Now if only he could find an interesting stranger or two to spend his afternoon with everything would be positively splendid. (( Just a note, this is somewhat character development, anyone can reply. I may throw another of my persona in here at some point. =3 Oh, yes, he's a 5 of Hearts))

(Character development it is. Don't mind me. )Souris wove her way through the bustling crowds easily, threading her way past boxes, chests, barrels, and other myriad impediments, as she forged a path toward her destination, her eyes absently noting the people she passed. Her mind boggled at the sheer mass of Cards in the Capitol. Morganberry, Corvistowneian, Torquehelm, even the odd Avington; Feline, canine, mustelid, avian; Club, Spade, Diamond, Heart making up an usual landscape not found in any other region, for the Capital City was host to many breeds, suits and realms. The sheer variety drew the eye and attention. And, not for the first time, Souris, thus distracted, almost walked into someone. This time, a male chipmunk from the Josiggy Marsh. A Six of Hearts. "Excuse me", she said, contritely. When was she going to start getting accustomed to the people in Capitol? She berated herself. She needed to learn to deal with encountering Cards from the different realms to be able to handle herself in Court. The Capital City had seemed to be the best place to practise, but to date she still had difficulty keeping her mind on personal affairs when moving through the City. Not good.

Well, if she were going to literally run into a stranger, Jarvis was probably the best choice. She was no Lowlander, definitely not, and thus he would be the perfect gentleman. However, she stopped herself before she collided with him and thus his cheery demeanor wasn't dampened in the slightest. He'd been aiming for an interesting stranger, but he hadn't quite expected such a pretty one.
Oh, no trouble at all. Really.
He gave her a genuine smile, but made sure to keep his fangs from showing. He didn't want to scare off such a pretty creature because he was a freak, after all. Really, chipmunks shouldn't have elongated, canine like fangs, his parents certainly didn't have them and nor did his brothers. Ah well, he kinda liked them but.... that was because of other reasons and interests altogether.
Might I be able to help you with somewhere, milady?
One mustn't forget their chivalrous niceties, not even when in the city.

Souris smiled back, relieved, as the chipmunk answered. Evidently he didn't hold her inattention against her. Nevertheless, she gave him her full attention, as he spoke, trying to compensate for the impropriety she'd almost committed in not paying attention to him. Had she been paying attention, she would have taken more care avoided the near collision, and introduced herself to him properly.
"My thanks, M'sieur", she answered politely, warming to his smile and manners, but hesitant to reveal her purpose to the gentlemanly Card, lest he disapprove. Poisons and addictives were seldom socially acceptable interests. Except..."A guide through the Capitol would be much appreciated, thank you." Perhaps she could find a innocuous, yet plausible excuse to explain her inappropriate destination away.
She could certainly try. Certainly, Cards visited chemists for ordinary compounds, and analysis on a frequent basis. And she would be careful not to give the chipmunk a reason to think otherwise.

His ears twitched and danced a bit atop his head as she shifted to a language he hadn't heard before, he just didn't run into many cards that spoke anything... unusual. It sure did sound pretty, although he had a feeling with the proper tone ... anything said in that language could sound pretty. Well, hopefully she wouldn't feel the need to say anything rude, he didn't intend to do anything to warrant it.
A guide through the Capitol? I'm sure I can swing that, especially for kind little lady. Anything specific in mind?
If she had an agenda it'd be easiest to tour the part of town she'd need to find to go with that, or even hobbies really. His little brush of a tail twitched every now and again as he waited and, really, being seen around town with a pretty lady wouldn't do him any harm ... delicate looking things like the mouse before him just didn't talk to him often, much less request an escort.

Souris brightened up immediately, pleased, at the small compliment. She seldom received compliments. And she was quite flattered to find that he seemed to be offering to escort her about in person. She beamed happily at the green chipmunk, as she carefully composed her reply,"I'd like to visit the botanist", to begin with. She was honestly interested in botanical extracts, although her actual interest was more specific, and specialised.
Her interest had, truthfully, began with a deep appreciation for the deadliness that many Gardens flowers concealed beneath the beauty. "Florists," she continued. "Herbalist, and cosmetician." She finished, knowing that her request was slightly bizzare, but nonetheless delighted at having diverted the conversation away from her actual agenda and destination.
Not very subtle, but while some Cards would make the connection between botany, herbology, floral extracts, and cosmetics, prehaps, only the very suspicious would realise her deeper interest lay in poisons and addictives.

Such .... odd requests. Well, florist and cosmetics, those were normal for a girl like her, if he had to stereotype of course, the others..... mmmm, they were a little interesting. Sounded a lot like this girl was a flower fanatic. Didn't they have plenty of those back in the Yarrow? He knew where a few of those things would be, but not all of them. He was sure the Capital had at least one of each, but he wasn't exactly interested in plants.
Florists and cosmetician I can take you to but I'm not so sure about an herbalist or a botanist. Those you might have to go closer to either the city limits or the Outer Bazaar to find.
He paused for a moment, little banded tail twitching in thought. He wasn't so keen on the outer bazaar ... but if she wanted to go, well ... he didn't think he could let her go alone in good conscious.
Where would you like to go first?
