Menefer didn't really know the cause of why he was back in the Capital, but he was sure that the cleaning and restoration had been complete a few days ago, and some sort of normalcy had achieved once again. He gave a heavy sigh as he finished up the dishes in the sink and placed them on the drying racks. This day had been rather hard on the card and he really hadn't enjoyed it like he usually did. Cooking was his passion and yet, the passing of that scary night where he was forced into something that he hadn't wanted in the first place. Now he was scared and mentally tired. He bade the owners a good night and walked out into the last rays of the setting sun. He was thankful that they had given him the second shift and not the night shift. Nights for him just wasn't what they used to be. He wondered if he would be able to make it to the apartment before the sun shined its last rays.

Jeremiah had been doing anything and everything he could to try and put that horrible day behind him. Ever since fighting that extremely ferocious Ace in the Selkie Mayor's Mansion, the poor Mouse had gained a wariness of them and tried to stay away from them as much as possible. Thank the Suites he'd never actually considering owning or adopting one before. His business as a Companion was booming. Others who hadn't been teleported away or put into a magical sleep while all the horrors were going on had needed some comforting, badly. Most of them hadn't even wanted sex; they'd just wanted to be held and have someone to talk to who had also gone through the same thing. Miah found, for the first time since becoming a professional Companion, that he was gaining just as much from these appointments as his clients. The Torque Mouse had just left a house call in fact, and was slowly making his way back to his own apartment. His stomach began to growl as he started passing quite a few restaurants in the Food District of the Bazaar. Flicking his newly feathered tail behind him, he stopped to consider a very appetizing smelling establishment when he noticed another Torque walking down the street. Though the horns and feelers were quite a remarkable mutation, it was the small creature following the Card around. Miah felt his heart catch in his throat as he looked upon a one of those small Bloblings that he'd seen Victor and Geronimo carting about. They'd told him, basically, they'd been adopted by these "pets". After helping to fight a very large blob monster that seemed to resemble these smaller creatures, he felt a little wary of the things. The man was coming his way and although he found himself unable to shake the wrongness he felt when he looked at the thing, he couldn't help but be curious about it. "Excuse me!" he shouted, running over to the Torque on his newly elongated legs. Miraculously, running no longer hurt him! After he'd mutated that day, his bindings no longer pressed hard into his muscles or caused him any pain at all! That, combined with the beautiful red and black feathers starting on his back and continuing down his tail, sometimes made Miah think it had all been worth it. "Sorry to bug you man, but I couldn't help but notice you have one of those blob creatures following you around. So, uh, how'd you come by it exactly? Er, if you don't mind me askin' that is," he added.

The blobling had been a real issue at work all day. He had to get it to stay put and was almost fired for that same reason. He gave a heavy sigh as the thing caught up with him and latched itself to his rear leg that used to be bound. One could tell that there was a binding there, for the fur was discolored and slightly greyish. He gave a sigh as the ugly little thing gazed up at him with its beady little eyes. He gave it a smile and continued down the road when he saw someone else... running at him and yelling for him. He stopped and gazed up... yes... he had about an hour before sunset. He looked to the man and gave a decent smile to the long legged Torque. "Oh this?" he said lifting his rear leg to show where it had wrapped itself around it. "I had accidentally stepped in it and... well it's kinda stayed attached to me." he said with a found smile. He didn't know what it was, or where it came from, since he hadn't seen the large blobs of creatures that were attacking everyone. He only hoped though that it would keep this affectionate disposition. He turned back to the man, with a bit of distrust across his face. "Why do you ask?" he asked as he took a step backwards. He really wondered what this man was up to. Was he one of those people that were terrified by his blobblings cousins?

Miah chuckled softly and smiled when the guy took a step away from him, mistrust clear in his voice. The Mouse couldn't blame him either. He must have been awake during the whole thing like himself. That day sure had changed a lot of people. He felt a so very sorry for the remaining Selkies and Lowlanders. He had no idea what it must be like to be part of a nearly extinct race of Cards, and their homeland destroyed. Jeremiah made a mental note to visit Torquehelm soon. He didn't have particularly fond memories of the place, but if it could just up and die on him, well... he'd just have to make new memories there.
He noticed the discolored fur when the Feline raised one of his back legs to show off the Blobbling. Frowning slightly, he looked the man over and felt his mouth drop open when he suddenly realized he was looking at an unbound Torque!
He looked the Card over again but still couldn't find any bindings. Momentarily forgetting the small creature, he stared in wonder at the very first unbound Torque he had ever met.
"Dude! You have no bindings!" he exclaimed, stating the oh so obvious. "How did you manage that?"
Miah's own bindings weren't actually binding anymore, but he still wore them. He couldn't even bring himself to think about removing them.

Menefer blushed a tad as the other Torque had excalmed that he had no bindings. He didn't really have much to say because it was a very personal matter that he really didn't wish to discuss. Though the other was still bound and wondered if his method would work for him as well. What if he wanted to get free of his own self and what their common region had placed upon them without their own thoughts.
He gave a heavy sigh and walked over to a near by closed shop and sat on the bench there. It was a jeweler fitter station. HE sat and waited for a moment as he ran his fingers through the blobblings sticky self. He didn't mind the greasy feeling after, but the thing loved to be scratched.
"I'm afraid that each method of removing them safely is different than others. I removed mine out of love, and I wasn't alone, it was another person that had removed it for me." He said as he leaned down on the bench and laid his head there for a moment. He would keep his eyes on him though... just in case he was up to something.

Miah thought the Feline was walking away for good, without so much as an "excuse me" or "goodbye"! But after a few moments he realized the man was just making his way over to a bench in front of a shop that hadn't been damaged on That Day. The Mouse happily made his way over to him, taking notice once more of the blob creature the guy had with him. He seemed to be... petting it? Miah shuddered.
"Out of love? Awww, you must be one lucky bastard," he said, nudging the other Torque and wiggling his eyebrows at him. "Maybe one day I'll be able to remove mine too. And sorry about shouting it out like that. It's just... you really don't see many Unbound Torques! In fact," he paused, cocking his head to the side as he thought about it, "I'm pretty damn sure you're the only Unbound Torque I've ever met!"
Jeremiah was happy for the man, a little jealous and also a bit nervous. It was a blessing to be able to remove one's bindings, but they all did it for the good of their Home. He'd never truly believed the bindings would affect this supposed "curse" the land was under, but having grown up there he couldn't help but experience the same superstitions, no matter how small they were to him.
Speaking of odd feelings, Miah couldn't help but stare at the blob thing. "So, er.... that thing hasn't tried to... you know, eat you or anything. Right?" he asked nervously.

Menefer gave the other feline a warm smile when he had praised him, other from the region of Torquehelm had cursed him and shunned him for this fact. He was proud that he had his removed and still retained his white wings on his back. Though in fact this wasn't the way that he had thought it would turn out though. He sure wish Mrs. White was here at the moment so that he could have someone here with him. He never liked being alone. HE gave a heavy sigh and then listened to what else the other Torque had to say.
When the subject of his blobbling that was attached to him was arisen did he cock a eyebrow at the other feline. He stopped his scratching of it and looked to the little three eyed bugger.
"I have heard tell of the bigger cousins of this one... and what they had done, but I assure you that this one only gives love and affection and not wanton hate and destruction." he said as he pulled it from his fur and placed it on the bench. It left only a bit of resin, but it made his fur a bit more shinny, if the smell of motor oil wasn't that appealing, but he bathed every day to rid himself of the smell, but it did wonders for his fur.
"Why do you think this would attack me? Did you have an encounter with its bigger cousin?" he asked wondering now on the other Torque mouse.

Miah saw the man smile at his response to him being Unbound. He didn't doubt others of their Realm had given him a hard time, or worse, but he personally thought it was an amazing gift and was a sign in some small way the curse of their homeland was losing it's hold! It was a joyous thing and should be celebrated, not scorned!
Bigger cousins was definitely one way of describing those huge blob monsters he'd encountered not too long ago. Seeing and helping fight one of them in that Hat Shoppe had been horrifying enough, but then to see not a second but a third all in the matter of hours had almost been too much. The first had attacked them, the second had drawn a carriage like an Ace and the third had actually managed to swallow a Benyan woman whole. Miah shuddered from the memory.
He couldn't help but be skeptical when the man told him this miniature version of those creatures gave affection. Not only because of it's larger "cousins" but because... well... look at it! The thing had three unnerving eyes that seemed to be staring straight through him! He watched as the Feline placed it on the bench beside him.
"Yeah, actually, I did. I was unfortunate enough to meet three of them. It was the weirdest damn day of my life. I actually saw one of them swallow and kill a Card so,...do forgive me if I keep looking at it weird. It just gives me the creeps!" he said, shuddering. "But that's cool that it's your, pet, you know. Just... do me a favor and um, keep an eye on it?"
Jeremiah looked at the spot the thing had been "sitting" on the man's fur and tried not to show disgust on his face. Thank goodness none of those little things had liked him; he wouldn't be able to stand it if it messed up his beautiful coat like that!
"So, uh, does it eat anything?" he asked rather awkwardly.

He raised an eyebrow at the other and gave a bit of a sigh, it was like some of the other tales that he had heard about, where people fought for their lives and most losing them trying to escape them. He looked back at the small creature and pulled out a cloth that he whipped his paws on and then back at him. He gave somewhat of a decent smile at him and a nod.
"Well... yes... I'll keep a close eye on it, or better two in fact." he stated after he had asked him to. Though his next question caught him by a bit of a surprise. What did it eat... "Well... I don't know... He goes off sometimes for about a few hours each night causing me to fret about him, but besides that I don't know." he said with a bit of a shrug. He looked back to the other and realized that he hadn't introduced himself quite yet, "By the way, I'm Menefer."
