Zether danced impatiently in the air, and used his momentum to do a quick flip in the air before he fell to the ground with a soft flop, and wiggled around in the grass for a short puppy moment before he got up and meticulously brushed the stray strands of grass out of his fur. He vainly wished he had some sort of mirror - that was the sad thing about not being with his Momma, who always had some sort of mirror around him to guarantee his magic would always work in any needed situation. He couldn't help but be overly excited; he hadn't seen Kaleb in what seemed like forever, though it had only been a few weeks since they'd since spent some time together. His recent move to the Capital had left him with little free time, but he'd finally managed to escape his Aunt's grasp and sent word out to Kaleb that he'd like to see him again. So here he was, sitting in the grass at the park, probably looking like the lovesick puppy he kinda was...

When Kaleb received the letter from Zether, he thought he'd never stop grinning. He had enjoyed his time with the dog/ferret mix the last time he had visited the Capital, and he was all too eager to return there again. The badger told his mother of his plans to travel, and the very next day, he was on his way. He was glad that the Capital wasn't terribly far from his homeland of Avington, as he arrived in the somewhat familiar city a couple of days after departing. Looking around, he soon found the road that led to the park, which is where he'd met Zether for the first time. He made his way there again, and enjoyed the grass beneath his paws after walking on harder paths for some time. Stretching his limbs, he looked around. There weren't many Cards about, but his eyes soon landed upon a familiar one. He made his way over silently, which was easy for someone who had lived in the woods his entire life. Kaleb stopped just a few feet away from Zether. He looked...cute, just lying there on his back. A bit of red colored his cheeks at the thought. He closed the gap between them, and leaned slightly over the other Card. "Hi there..." he said with a shy smile.

Zether eventually began to relax a bit in the calming atmosphere in the park; it was difficult to sustain intense excitement when you were surrounded by old ladies, chiding mommas and the odd jogger. He smiled fondly when a group of children suddenly sprinted by him, obviously a young litter, and were then followed by an exhausted-looking young mother. Ah, the park..
He couldn't help but keep a paw jiggling, though, and when a shadow crept up over him he let out a startled yip before he could help himself. The mix jumped up, a happy grin nearly splitting his face, and he had to contain himself from all-out tackling the beautiful Avington in front of him. "Kaleb! I'm so glad to see you!" Zether exclaimed, then shyly rubbed a paw along one of Kaleb's. ".... I missed you," He said, tentatively, not wanting to get too exuberant too quickly.

When Zether rubbed his paw up against one of his, Kaleb couldn't help but smile. He felt his blush deepen, especially as he leaned forward to bump foreheads lightly with the usually eccentric Card. It was nice to see the softer side of Zether for a change, even though he certainly enjoyed his very vibrant nature.
Pulling back so he could look at his face again, Kaleb smiled some more, hoping the red in his face didn't show too much. "I missed you too." Looking around, he saw a tree nearby, providing some cover. As much as he loved the sun, he could use a rest from it. He motioned over to the tree to Zether, then walked over and sat down in the cool shade. Once Zether sat down beside him, he asked "So...how have you been since I saw you last?"

Zether's smile grew, if that was possible, at the gentle head touch, and he gave Kaleb a quick nuzzle before he could help himself, before Kaleb pulled away. He noticed the blush, of course, and was secretly pleased, but kept it to himself lest he make Kaleb more embarrassed.
A little tendril of glee leaked through at the returned words, and he couldn't help but do a little prance on his way over to the tree. He flopped down and stretched out next to the Avington, letting his loose and limber limbs relax for a long moment before he pulled himself together and sat up. "I've been good! ... all of the weirdness that's gone down here aside. I recently moved to the Capital permanently. .... and you?" Zether wasn't sure what all had gone down in Avington, but Kaleb didn't look much changed.

Kaleb liked the little nuzzle Zether sneaked in before they walked over to the shade of the tree. He also enjoyed the way the Card stretched underneath the tree before bouncing back up again to sit up. He laughed softly under his breath, wondering how anyone could be so energetic. The badger listened as he was told about what was going on in Zether's life lately. "Wow, that's great! Are you enjoying living here full time now?"
He thought to himself a moment before answering the question. "In all honesty, not much has changed back at home. I'm just trying to get out more, and not keep to myself as much." He laughed again, a bit more audible this time. "Perhaps you're rubbing off on me, Zether..." he said with a smile. Playfully, he pushed the dog/ferret mix lightly with one of his massive paws, making sure he was careful not to hit him with his claws as well.

Zether grinned over at him, and shrugged. "Yeah, it's alright, I suppose," He started, then shrugged again in lack of any other movement to make. "I'm stuck living with my Aunt. She's batshit crazy, but it's better than being stuck in the Courts, at least. I can go off and make my own mischief without anyone much caring," Zether said with a snicker and a wiggle. Aunt Sae rarely remembered he was living in her house, and she never remembered who he actually was, so he got to do basically whatever he liked.
He made a big show of dramatically falling over when a paw was suddenly presented to his chest, then hauled himself back up to his paws and gave the badger a mock-glare. "Well, some energy wouldn't do you any harm," He replied, grinning, and gave him a paw-shove back. "Change isn't always necessary, though, is it?"
