Should anyone be in the area of Somerset, NJ on May 20th, 21st, and 22nd, they may wish to check out the Steampunk World's Fair! It is going to be an awesome event that I think people at this game would love. I'm going to be there (I live with one of the people that helps run it, how could I not?), and from what I remember, Nat and Jenn are going to be there too? I'm not sure if anyone else from the board is going to be attending, and I know this is late notice, but I figured that I'd get this out there. (Hey Nat and Jenn, guess who else is going to be there if all works out? A certain Schnoo and a Mason!) So yeah! Check it out, talk about Steampunks in general, and speaking of steam, I'm running out of it due to tired. G'night, folks.

Yep! Dana's going to be doing a lecture/panel on the writings of Mark Twain (because damn if the man didn't help invent alternate history), and Mason's going to be running a pair of one-shots in the Gaming Room! =D
Gleeeeeee, I can't wait~!

Wow! Go Dana! Nothing like getting paid to go to an awesome convention! I'll be there all right, even if I am going to be tired from a convention on capitalism and contractually binding analysis from that week. <3 I'm ever so excited. ~Nathalia

A few choice pictures from the event! My picture with Steampunk Boba Fett and an excellently steampunk gent. That day = made. My first costume. I appear to be a... sailor... of some sort? In posture? My new corset and over-skirt! Purple leather is love. Yeah, I had to borrow the rifle for a shot... Nat and Dan face off - rifle versus mini heat ray (functional)! Showing off her CLAWZ! These guys were walking around all throughout the con. Loved them and so glad to finally get their picture! And even Sebastian was there...! Nat picking through the gorgeous mountain of dice. Her ensemble was simply too pretty not to photograph. His Polly was such a perky little thing! She glowed and moved and whistled.

D: Why don't people go around dressed like this ALL THE FREAKING TIME! 1) Steampunk Gent in the first picture = love. I like silver/white/gray hair on guys so I probably would have jumped his bones. And steampunk Boba Fett is BEST THING EVAR! 2) HOLY BOOBS, BATMAN! Seriously, that corset makes your bewbs look awesome! WHERE did you get that thing? At the con? How much did it cost? <.< >.> I seriously want one. 3) Unless it's a mini hair dryer dressed up as a heat ray, I'm REALLY curious to know exactly how that works! 4) Claws!Nat is awesome, but I REALLY love the small rodent skeleton on her jacket! (At least, it looks rodent-ish to me. ) lol And that hat is so wicked! 5) Oh. Mai. GAWD!! That woman with the dress..... *faints* You have no idea how jealous I am of that dress right now. Normally I don't have a thing for anchors, but the whole thing is so entirely beautiful! Even if she made it herself I'll wager it cost a pretty penny. Oh so beautiful! And that guy decked out BEHIND her is EFFING RAD! For being that committed to the outfit, I wanna take him to a hotel room. <.< >.> 6) An old pirate! That parot is a toy, right? I mean..... he didn't MAKE IT... right? Though I do see how he made the shoulder pad for it to harness the feet. THESE PEOPLE ARE SO AMAZING! I am so jealous.

If the gent didn't make it himself then he probably purchased it custom. I think he made it, though. Responds to motion and sound. The little skeleton is Fred the Dead Head, a former weasel. Also, I did acquire the corset at the con! I've been looking for one a long time now. And... it was just perfect. Leather and purple and lovely. Bewbs. It was pricey but worth it for the craftsmanship and the all-leather-ness. A little less than $200.
