The giraffe didn't expect the young girl to go as fast as she did. However, she wasn't going to complain when Ginger was so cheerful. Her hooves clicked loudly on the cobble as she kept up with the girl, people watching as they went.
It didn't take them that long to get where they were going. The populated area made Gigi slow down in wonder. There were things and people around, and none of them really seemed to notice her for the time being.
She was sure that would change but at the moment her eyes were wide with curiosity. Didn't Ez say something about taking her shopping? Was this the place he was going to take her. "What is this place?" she asked Ginger as she looked at the various shops. Everything was so... well interesting. This was far different from the Court of Diamonds or the small outings she went to in the town.

Ginger slowed a little once they actually reached the busy streets, not wanting to lose her friend in the crowd. After all, she was rather small compared to most of the Cards, even if Gigi had a nice long neck to make her stick up. The Coyote took a moment to imagine how tall Gigi would be when she was all grown up, and it was an amazing mental image. She'd be too tall to fit through the doorways of most houses without playing limbo! Her eye flickered excitedly above her head, and that was honestly the best defense they had against anyone stumbling too close to them. Ginger had almost never had her tail or paws trod on for that very reason.
"The market! The beeeeeeest part of the market!" she yipped proudly, tail wagging. "There's a lot to see! Aaaaanything you want is here. Sometimes Cards make music and do tricks!" She nodded to a central area, a bit ahead of them, where it was clear of stands and buildings. It was a favorite stage for street performers, and it looked like there were a few Cards gathering there now, dressed in some pretty interesting costumes, all colorful and with lots of beads. She was about to continue to make her way over to that area, because shows were fun to watch and it made Ginger happy, so maybe it would make Gigi happy, when she felt her paw hit something...squishy. Glancing down, she saw two little eyes looking balefully up at her.
"Blobby! I'm sooooorry I left you behind," she said, ears drooping a bit in apology. She offered her paw to her pet, and the inky creature slorped up it to sit in the space between her shoulder blades.

"The market?" she repeated curiously as she inspected the various people in pretty costumes who seemed to be preparing for something. If she had been a dog her tail would have been wagging with joy and anticipation. "Really? People do tricks out on the street....that's wonderful!"
Her attention was brought back down to Ginger at the sound of concern in her voice. The giraffe had completely forgotten about the little terrifying blob thing that the coyote considered her pet. She on her hooves a bit as she edged slightly away. The creature was climbing up on the Highlander's shoulder... huh. At least it was out of the way? And at least it didn't have any teeth to bite right?
She'd keep telling herself that. "Where do we go first?" she asked Ginger curiously. Was there anything in particular that the girl wanted to show off, or were they just going to explore? Exploring might be exciting.

Ginger nodded eagerly, and her tail was wagging more than enough for both of them in her excitement. There were soooo many happy, busy Cards around them, and it was very infectious for the little pup who took so much after her father it was a bit scary sometimes. She jumped, her eye carefully focused on Blobby to make sure it was staying securely on her back, and then grinned in satisfaction, revealing teeth.
"Did you want to seeeee the show?" she asked, standing up on her hind paws briefly to point at the performers gathering. Of course, she couldn't stay that way for long, and her front paws hit the cobblestones again with a small 'oof'. She giggled a tiny bit under her breath, and the blobling on her back made a sort of low, gurgling sound that might not have even been very audible to the rest of the crowd there. "Buuuuuut if you want to explore first they miiiight not start for a few minutes," she amended, flaming eye turning back and forth with the motion of the performers setting up still.

Gigi wasn't particularly sure what she wanted to do. She had never seen anyone preform anything, but she had never explored a place like this either. Her ears were pinned to her head for a moment as she tried to decide what she wanted to do.
"Ummmm...." she said as she bounced on her legs for a moment. "Let's explore first?" What was the surrounding area like anyway? There was a slim chance they would run into Ez, but hopefully that would be okay. Maybe he would be happy to see her? Though he hadn't been very happy lately....
Right. Adventure! She was doing that and not worrying. "I'm going to let you show me around... okay?" That was a reasonable thing to say right? She mentally shook herself to stop doubting everything she did. Everyone said it was bad, so it probably was. The girl readied herself to follow wherever Ginger took her.

Ginger's eyes turned to see Gigi as she bounced around a bit in a way that made her whiskers and mane fly around. It was almost funny, and a small giggle escaped before she caught herself and swung her body to face the other girl as well. Her tail was wagging like crazy as she nodded. Exploring was good, and there was always something new here! One time there had even been a vendor selling toys that were hand crafted in various regions that Ginger had never been to (which, admittedly, was all of them) and they sounded very exotic. She'd tried to imagine a kid like her playing with the little Feline doll in Torquehelm, and it was a fascinating daydream.
"Follow meeeee! And don't get lost!" she yipped, and turned to weave her way nimbly through the crowd, with the intention of finding that toy stand again. She couldn't remember the name of it, and she didn't do so well with reading yet, anyway, but she was sure she'd recognize it. They passed by stands selling fruit, colorful beads, textiles in colors and patterns as varied as the coats of Cards, exotic sorts of coffee, fried seafood, and so many other things that it would have overwhelmed anyone who'd never been to a place like this before. Ginger paused near a small booth selling delicate glasswork from the Bog, her eye swiveling back to make sure Gigi was still behind her.

Gigi followed after the girl to the best of her ability. She was still all shades of awkward when it came to dealing with large groups of people, but on the bright side people liked to move out of her way. Not many people had seen a giraffe after all, so there were quite a few on lookers.
And so many things. Fruit she had never seen before, beads, and fabrics and all sorts of fantastic things. With wide eyes she slowed her pace to stare at a few cloths, before she remembered she was following Ginger. When she looked up for the girl she was surprisingly far ahead, and didn't seem to notice that the giraffe had disappeared.
Shoot. Gigi sped up her pace, a few people making surprised sounds as she trotted loudly past them. By the time she caught up with the coyote she had already paused to see if she was still behind her. "Sorry! There are a lot of things and I got distracted!"
She skidded to a halt behind the girl so she could catch her breath.

Even though Ginger had been here several times before, she'd never actually been there without an adult or older sibling before! And the colors and smells were amazingly overwhelming even to her. But when this pup was focused on something, she would pursue it with a sort of single-mindedness that was quite at odds with her excitable nature. So by the time she finally stopped and waited by that Bog glass booth, she was actually quite far ahead of her friend.
She tilted her head (a strange expression when she hadn't turned to face Gigi, but then, her eye was already looking right at her). "Awww I'm sorry I didn't seeeee. If you saw something special we could have stopped to look!" she said, finally turning her head a bit so Gigi could hear her better over the crowd. Her tail was still wagging, and her large grin would show Gigi that she wasn't actually mad at all. "After aaaaaaall, you're the one who's here for the first time."
