Good thing this group has coordination, however reluctant some of it may be. Turning away from the grinding sound of the still sinking basement, the group was privy to the sight of a long, dingy hallway (definitely lower class...), that reeked of stale drink, body odor, and chemicals. Still, there's a door at the far end...good enough, right?
A sudden crash from above alerted them that the smashing sound they heard earlier may not have been an isolated event! The floorboards gave way and a considerable amount of bedding and bodies slammed through the dust and splintered wood into the floor near Senka. It was fortunate Xiven had summoned her Scorpion tail, however awful an impression it may have made on that damn Club, she was able to use it to slice through a good amount of breaking floor and cabinets as they fell and hopefully, enabled her to keep her daughter clutched to her before she hit the floor (both roll as you post, please). Both landed roughly, but at least seem able to stand, however else they may be injured.
What's this? The Queen of Hearts and...Mer's sister? How did they get here? The entire building creaks ominously...perhaps it would be a good idea to leave? Or maybe it would be a better idea to scout the place? Who knows.

The floor gave way with virtually no warning, and the woman was not initially prepared for the sudden drop and let go of her weapon in surprise (5). There were feathers, and wood flying every which way, informing her that the entire house was probably rigged. Whoever had brought them here didn't want them to leave. Oh suits Vir. She made to grab for her daughter (11), so nothing horrible would happen to her. Her tail could take care of most of the debris that was in the way. Thank the suits she had already summoned it in preparation. Taking out the most obtrusive things so they wouldn't be impaled as they fell. Of course then there was the matter of hitting the ground, which she hoped she could at least manage without getting crushed. And so the floor promptly greeted her (18). It wasn't graceful, and she was fairly certainly everything was bruised, but as long as she and her daughter could walk out of this place everything would be fine. Her brain briefly acknowledged the fact that there were other Cards there. She was preoccupied with the fact that her weapon was potentially falling somewhere harmful. (Rolled a 15 for the weapon landing safely somewhere.)

There was no time for the kitten to react. She didn't even have a chance to scream, she was too startled to take a breath to even try. She scrambled through the air, twisting herself in a way that was decidedly feline to attempt to line her paws with the floor (was there a floor? or would she just be tumbling and falling like this forever?). Her frenzied movements brought with them a curious blessing - her paws found her mother's own grasp, and with her help she was able to pull herself into the protective semi-embrace.
She was going to die. She knew it. But at least she wasn't going to be alone when it happened. She knew she was going to die regardless, but she had hoped it would be some time from now, and not like this...
Her eyes squeezed shut tightly and she pressed her face against her mother's torso, preparing herself for the end. It didn't come. The floor did, however, and it came in a horribly painful rush that only further jarred her already pained leg. She let out a pained sound, somewhere between mewl and cry, and didn't move for a minute. She needed time to adjust to still being alive. Once she did, she slowly opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was her mother's shirt. After taking a deep breath to steady herself, she turned to look out at the room. There were familiar faces there, and the sight of one of them made her heart skip a beat.
"Zeki! Mer! Andrei!" She gasped, untangling herself from her mother and flinging herself in the Corvie boy's general direction.
Mercutio stared, disbelief written across every inch of his face.

Let's get out of this hellhole.
"Sounds like a fine plan to me," panted Andrei. He'd been so much better about his exercise routine over the past month or so, but that was just outright taxing. He didn't have time to catch his breath before the ceiling came crashing down around them. Several curses caught in his throat and he could only react by a mouth hanging open and a last second scramble to get out of the way. Splinters of wood tinkled against the ground as the creaking and crashing of the larger pieces echoed in the room. Still breathing heavily, he stared in horror at the people who fell through.
"Y-Your Majesty!" he called out to her, hoping and praying she was not severely injured. He started on crawling over to her to check on her when Vir suddenly appeared. He blinked and stared.
Until, of course, the falling weapon he didn't see came spinning down and sliced a bit of Andrei's face before sticking quite firmly into the ground between his wings. A long, clean slice spanned from the side of this forehead, through an eye and all the way down to the jawline. Bits of white could be seen for a moment from his forehead and his cheekbone before the blood began to flow. He screamed and reeled back, clutching his eye before collapsing to the ground in pain.
[So... Kari rolled a 15 for the weapon landing somewhere safe. For shits and giggles I rolled for Andrei's luck.
I rolled a 1. I did the best I could without disabling him to the point where I can't play him in this thread because, dammit, I need him to be wake and alive.]

Their hallway reeked of several miles of bad road, all the stale odors of seediness in one location, and he was grateful that they weren't going to be there for long--now that all of them were safely up out of that putrid laundry room, presumably even further from that awful room with the plants, they could get out.
The roof collapsing put a bit of damper on that. But as far as complete architectural failures were concerned, this one wasn't too bad, mostly because shortly after the Queen of Hearts made her graceless and terrifying entry, Virtute sprung forth from her mother's protective side. Blissful relief rolled over him like an avalanche, and he quickly moved to embrace her, hugging her close.
"Vir," he said, happily, "it's so good to see you--are you okay--where is your--where is your mask?"
His attention was so focused on the feline that it was only forcibly broken by Andrei's sudden shriek, and stars and bloody stones, it was not that Highlander's day, which was really saying something considering it really wasn't his day either, any more than it was Senka or Mercutio's. He saw the carnage over Vir's head, the slice straight down his face, and his own face twisted into alarm and horror.

Senka watched passively as events unfolded, nimbly avoiding a bit of plummeting debris. Of all the things to potentially happen after successfully getting everyone out of the laundry room, a shower of corpses was--while not exactly surprising, in the grand scheme of their day (what time was it exactly?)--not what she might have expected.
More surprising was the fact that some of the bodies were actually alive, and everyone seemed to know each other--what a quaint local for a family reunion--Zeki might just have a girlfriend--they certainly didn’t look related, and that hug was not the platonic sort--and if she was understanding correctly, she was in the presence of Heart royalty. Senka was less than thrilled, considering her experience thus far with “superior” Hearts.
She wished she could say it was a surprise when Andrei ran face first into a falling blade, but she’d spent a bit of time in his company at this point, and could only sigh as he writhed about the floor in pain and briefly entertained the fanciful notion of pushing him back into the laundry room.
“Does anyone have a first aid kit?” she intoned, “Because otherwise he’s just going to have to deal with it. We really need to keep moving.”

Xiven was initially confused at her daughter's exclamation, her eyes briefly following the girl's path. So her boyfriend was here, and--Mercutio and Andrei? She did her best to refrain from sighing as she pulled herself out of the mess she was in, and she was promptly reminded of her weapon as it caught Andrei in the face.
Son of a bitch.
Of all things to happen. The woman clenched her fists. What the hell was she supposed to do at a time like this? "No first aide kit here, unless there's one in the rubble."
Before she had time to react or say anything, Emeraude appeared besides her, speaking as soon as she materialized. "We should go, there's a giant plant monster in the ceiling. Attic? Upstairs. Plant monster is the important part." She looked around at the various Cards that Xiven seemed to have fallen upon. Oh, and look at that, one of the Hearts got her axe to the face. Haha. She refrained from laughing, considering the look on Xiven's face about the information she'd just received on top of everything.
A heavy sigh escaped the Queen of Hearts as she rubbed her temples. Collapsing ceilings, Andrei getting hit in the face with her weapon, a giant plant monster, what was next on the list of things to go wrong? "Outside it is then. Not going to have the building collapse on our heads... Mercuito if you could help Andrei and if either Corvie could figure out something to help his face so he doesn't bleed to death it would be greatly appreciated."
The woman collected her axe, and looked for the nearest exit.

The nearest exit was easily enough accessible, a door at the far end of the hall led up some creaking stairs to a smaller hallway that looked like the front door to this dump. Vir, however, has begun to look...off, somehow. Her face has become slightly green around the nose and ears and she feels unsteady and seasick. A rather aware Mer managed to notice something that could have, to someone paying less attention, looked like a small tic under her left eye... However, his direct attention gave him the view of something moving under her skin... Andrei's face will need to be bandaged up, fortunately, he'll be able to keep that eye, one of the rooms around them contained a basket of musty, but clean sheets that could be torn up to bind him.
Outside...the streets look an awful lot like the lower end of the Outer Bazaar... Oh, dear... Not a good place to be, especially not when the streets are full of clammy fog like this.

Andrei clenched his jaw to prevent himself from screaming any more. He focused, pushing back the pain so that he could activate his ability to ignore at least some of it magically. Several sharp gasps later and he was able to muster up enough concentration to put the spell into place. It still throbbed, but he could focus past the pain now.
He bit his tongue, holding back a comment to the Corvie female. It wasn't what she said, but the tone that grated on him. Even so, he wasn't in much of a condition to start any fights, verbal or otherwise. He took a few deep breathes and attempted to examine the damage. Opening the eye was... well, hard. And even when he thought he'd succeeded, his vision was blurred with blood. He shuddered and put his wing back up to his eye in hopes of staunching the blood a little. He surveyed the room and saw the sheets. They looked clean enough for now.
"No need for any realm-stereotyping antics. I think a patchjob for now should work. I'd rather get out of here," he said with an air of weak humor. A darker sense of humor had been creeping into him since his alternate form made its way into his life, but now? Commenting on Xiven's mild racism in this situation even struck his as odd.
[Sorry that's all for now, gotta run to class!]

The sudden movement made Virtute's stomach roil unpleasantly, and a shudder went all through her. Urgh. Perhaps leaping for Zeki had not been the best choice, even if it was the choice that made her happiest. Her ears folded back slightly and she sucked in a deep breath - she had mostly managed to push the absence of her mask to the back of her mind, but now that she was thinking about it again it seemed no small wonder she felt as horribly ill as she did. Carefully, regretfully, she untangled herself from Zeki's arms, doing her damnedest to push the waves of nausea aside for his benefit. "I am - I'm alright, I think." She spoke carefully. She didn't want him to worry, after all. "A little worse than normal... I don't know where my mask is. I just woke up here and..." her voice trailed off, and she glanced back at her mother. Mercutio's attention went from his sister to his mother and back again. He would happily help Andrei, if they could figure out something that didn't involve Card-produced fabric. Having a bandage start to mildew on the bat-hyrbrid's face seemed like a bad idea. Before he could respond in the affirmative, a strange movement caught his gaze and he blinked. What the...? Oh, what the fuck. The color drained from the coyote's face and a high-pitched whimper escaped him. "Mom. We need to get Virtute out of here." He spoke quickly and loudly, but he refused to say any more. He just gave Andrei a pathetic look and started to walk ahead, fur bristling. (this is shit and I am sorry for it )
