Arkady had to turn and just stare at Yuri for a moment. That hadn't been at all what he was going to say, and he was pretty sure that both of his siblings knew it. Or maybe Yuri honestly thought he had been about to say something about Bandersnatches. He could never tell with what was probably his oddest brother. His ears went back and he whimpered a bit, looking at Laika pleadingly. He really wished she'd just leave well enough alone, but...she sounded so convincing in her arguments...and, more importantly, she had the look in her eyes. The one that meant she was going to do what -she- wanted to do, regardless of what anyone else thought.
Besides, he didn't want to be left out, and maybe the pills would have a good effect...or possibly they weren't even magical at all. Maybe they were just a vitamin supplement or something. Yeah, Ark didn't really believe that, either.
He looked up at Laika, and he knew she already had him when he saw the look in her eyes. She was being brave...wasn't that his job? How could he protect her from anything if he was too wimpy to swallow a pill? His eyes narrowed and he nodded. He moved a bit closer to Laika as she yelped, though she looked fine after, and looked down at the grey pill near him. It actually looked...very normal. He sniffed it, and sneezed slightly at the smell of dust. He sniffed all around it, carefully, but it certainly seemed very normal...except for that very faint humming sound. Was that even coming from the pill? Maybe there was a fly in the room. He titled his ears around and shook his head, but it didn't go away...and the pill wasn't going anywhere at this rate.
"Ready?" he asked, looking back and forth between the other two. He almost wanted to wait and eat them all at once...but he was done being overly careful. Taking a deep breath, Ark leaned forward and slurped up the pill.

For Ark: Once a month, this SD is now capable of whispering the words 'free fall' and changing slowly into a pure cloud of dust. This dust is unscented and will float away, carried on the breeze to wherever the caster wished to go before whispering their words. Once there, they will reform and, though they will be quite tired, they will be fully capable of getting themselves situated before needing to sleep.
They need to exert caution, however. If someone tries to capture some of their dust, they'll be in an awful lot of trouble. Someone treading on some by accident, inhaling it, or walking through it does not matter. It is intent that matters. If someone manages to capture some, only parts of him will appear in his desired destination...this could very well kill him if he is not careful.

Yuri stared curiously at the little red pill that had rolled over to him, keeping an eye on it even as Arkady gobbled up his. His sister's logic made sense in a mad goblin kind of way (the logic most readily understandable to children) and he put his own mind to work.
It stood to reason that if these pills were magical pills, then there was more to them than met the eye. It also stood to reason that if the pills were more than met the eye, looks would be deceiving. It therefore stood to reason that Arkady's dusty pill would cause him to shed sparkles; Laika's would morph her slowly into ketchup; and Yuri's sweet-smelling little red thing would cause him to melt into a pile of toxic waste.
At last, then! Something interesting. Yuri was ready. He poked out his tongue, snatched up the pill, and swallowed.

For Yuri: Once a month, this SD is now capable of causing another to drop roses from their mouth with every complete sentence for a full day. He does this by concentrating on their name and then offering them a pleasant greeting. The greeting must be verbal, audible, and to their face. A picture of the person does not count. The victim will be afflicted for a full 24 hours afterward.
Though this spell may seem pleasant and nice on the surface, you should think about it on a different level. Thorns in the mouth? Spitting bulbous flowers? Unable to eat unless you hadn't spoken in a good while? Imagine if the victim talked in their sleep! They would wake up rolling around in pulp and thorns!

Tilting her head to look at either brother, Laika felt a sudden swelling of sibling affection. They were going to do it. They really were! Even though she could tell that Ark wasn't happy about it, he would still swallow the weird little thing for her. And well, Yuri, he was hard to predict but he seemed totally on board with the idea. She grinned and then, startled by how quickly Ark jumped at the chance, she took a deep breath and gulped down the gross-looking thing.
For Laika: Once a week, this SD is now able to imitate a true Skunk. Under her tail, she develops the proper scent glands and is able to preform a handstand quickly and efficiently. Her aim will be rather amazingly fantastic and the scent sprays out in a 50 foot radius, making it highly difficult to avoid... though it can catch passersby if they get too close in the area. The smell is overpowering to all but her; she can barely smell it at all. The stench and sticky mess will cause the victim to erupt in painful, blister-like, full-body boils. These will remain on the victim for a full 24 hours and cannot be dispersed with magic. Going down, the nasty thing shocked her insides just like it had shocked her paw and the sensation drove her ears flat to her skull. Oh, that was a lot less fun than she thought it could have been. But... after a minute... She became aware of a new ability floating around the depths of her subconscious mind. She poked at it curiously and the knowledge of her new power came to her as easily as the ones she already had. Her nose wrinkled funny, she looked perplexed, and she whipped around to stare at her butt. Nothing changed, except that it could. "Umm. Yooou guys don't want to know first-hand what happened to me, probably. Yoooou wouldn't like it. Even though it's honestly... really neat." And then her head whipped back around and she stared from one brother to the other expectantly.

The pill tasted about like it smelled...dry and dusty. Arkady had a slight problem getting the dry thing to slide down his throat, and his tongue felt like sandpaper afterwards. He noted that his two siblings had also gulped theirs, and he clenched his jaw and sat up, waiting for something bad to happen. Instead, he felt a slight stirring in the back of his mind...as if part of it was reorganizing itself. And he was aware of a new ability now...he blinked and looked hesitantly at his siblings. They looked normal too...his tail wagged, once, and then again.
A relieved smile spread across his muzzle, and he turned in interest to the two of them. "Can you do something new too, Laika?" he asked his sister, curious despite that she said they wouldn't like it. His tail beat out a rhythm against the floor as it wagged. He looked over at Yuri, as well, silently including him in the question. Now that he knew the pills had been nothing dangerous, well...it was all sort of exciting. He was glad he'd been talked into it. He just hoped becoming dust didn't make your fur dirty...

Yuri mulled over this newfound power. To make people vomit roses with every sentence...Hmms. He wondered what counted as a complete sentence. He would need to try this out. What if the spell was some kind of militant grammarian and did not accept sentence fragments as complete sentences? He would look awfully odd trying to make sure someone included their subject and their object and their verb after issuing his greeting. If the rose had some kind of stem with thorns, did it issue from the throat, thus tearing it up? That would be viciously unpleasant.
So many things to investigate!
"I can force emesis on someone provided I've bid them a good day, and they remember subject-verb agreement...only they expel roses instead of bile." He furrowed his brow. "I don't think it should be called vomiting or regurgitation, though. I don't think the roses start in the stomach and travel up or anything...It's the prettiest puke ever, though!" he finished, brightly. He looked at his sister. "I'll like it, Laika! Tell us."

Grinning in a weird sort of chidish pride, Laika was about to answer her brother's cheerful inquiry when her other brother started describing what had to be his new power.
Except she had no idea what 'emesis' was. That was a new word for her. She stared at him for a second, trying to hear the rest of what he said instead of rotating on the one word, and got the impression he could make people puke roses. Or... something like that. 'Emesis'. She would have to try that out on somebody and see if it meant what she thought it might mean. No way was she admitting to Yuri that she didn't know.
"That sounds... really right for the Court," she told him with a slow wag to her tail. And a grin. Then her tail sped up. "Thanks for not making me, though. You, uh. You know about me and roses. And you'd never use that ability on me ever, I'd hope, or I'd have to use mine. Cause I can turn into a skunk, and spray like... everything. No clue how far or wide it goes, but... look!" Out of nowhere, she did a perfect headstand, tail flaring upward like a flag. She very deliberately did not do anything else, just held the position for a few awkward second before dropping back down with a delighted expression.

Arkady's eyes kind of bulged out a bit at Yuri's description of his new ability. That sounded decidedly more violent than his own new power, though at least it would make the area smell nice. Except for the blood, of course...because if the roses still had their thorns that would be downright painful. Arkady kind of hoped he'd never see his brother use this power, though if someone was mistreating his family, that was a just cause.
There were times he wished he'd had some sort of spell to make one of their tutors not talk so much, but that, Ark thought, would be a total misuse of such a power and they'd probably get in trouble...IF their Mom knew it had been Yuri's spell that caused such an odd effect. He let Laika voice her opinion on that spell and...ah, right...he'd almost forgotten about Laika and her total aversion to roses after their unfortunate experience of getting trapped under a rosebush in the garden. Now he felt bad.
He moved closer to his twin, but stopped as she explained her ability. He made a face that clearly showed what he thought of THAT. She was right...he didn't like it! But again, it could be useful for self defense, so he was glad that she'd gotten something like that, though he backed up a few paw steps as she raised up onto her front paws.
"Why don't we save using our abilities for bad guys and not family?" he offered, tail giving a placating wag. "Mine is really more defensive than yours...I can turn into dust and drift off anywhere I want." He didn't feel the need to demonstrate, even so, though. The idea of becoming something so insubstantial was unnerving, even if he knew he shouldn't suffer any harm for it.

Resettling herself back in a place where the world wasn't upside-down, Laika blinked at Ark as he described his power. The first thing that came to mind?
"But what if it rains?" she blurted out before looking guilty. "Not that it's not a great power or anything! You could hide anywhere like that or get away from anything. But what if somebody, like, breathed you in? Or sneezed you out? Would you be up their nose? Could you turn into a mud puddle if you got wet? Or get trapped inside a cabinet? How's it work?"
Only after questioning him did she consider that... hey, maybe he knew about as much regarding his new power as she did about hers. Which wasn't all that much yet, really. "But, um, we can test it? I guess?" she suggested hesitantly. "I mean, I won't test mine, obviously! Not around you guys, anyway. Or family. That's a pretty good rule. But we can figure out about the dust...?"
