It was a good day for shopping, all things considered. The sun was bright overhead, the cabinets are home were pretty much empty because Iphis had gotten too sidetracked by projects to pay much attention, and he needed some more work supplies (and procuring supplies to make an outfit was sometimes nearly as fun as making the thing). Plus he wanted to spend more time with his boyfriend; so he had pulled Zeev along for the shopping ride and was enjoying himself quite a bit (especially since now he had an extra set of hands to help him cart things along). They were just emerging from a shop when he saw a familiar figure, black and blue and wispy. He grinned; the day had just gotten even better. His sister-cousin-friend (ah, what a tangled familial web had been woven) had really had a lovely batch of children. He waved. "Rhis!"

Upon awaking that morning it had been decided by Iphis that they were going to spend the day out buying fabric. While Zeev had mixed feelings about being down graded to such a task, considering that it was his lover, he knew that he would end up following along anyway. After a couple of painful hours - since he would never admit it to be any other way, even if perhaps it was - Zeev was glad that they were done. It had taken the treat of sweets and coffee in order to do it. Khloris had spent most of the night reading the newest book she had found in relation to the theory behind ghosts. This author had some interesting theories and a few hypothesis that she, herself, wanted to try out. So she had picked up her scarf, her bag, and had headed out to gather up some of the equipment that she would need. After a near fruitless search she was heading to the next shop when she stumbled upon her uncle. "Uncle Iphis, Uncle Zeev! How goes your day?"

He was pleased to see her. His niece was looking as pretty and insubstantial as ever, especially in the light of the sun; she really did bear a very uncanny resemblance to Elyse and Auntie Minh. The cute little tufts on the ears...He gave her a light hug, to avoid getting poked by some of the thorns.
"Oh, we're doing as well as...things that do really well..." Metaphor failed him, as it was wont to do. He moved quickly on, gesturing to Zeev. "We were just out doing a bit of shopping."
Well, considerably more than a bit, but eh, there was no point in arguing the finer points. He looked at her curiously, wondering where Elyse or Eilwyn or some other responsible parent figure might be lurking. Surely they wouldn't let their cute little Joker out all on her lonesome? "Why are you out all by yourself?"

Zeev gave a nod of greeting to the small Corvistowne, shifting the pile of items that he was currently carried. He always considered the small child to be of a strange sort, considering her physical state, but her personality and warm heartiness made of for any short comings it presented.
Considering that the 'bit of light shopping' constituted a huge pile of many things that poor Zeev seemed to be carrying for his mate, she gave a giggle. When he hugged her she returned the hug to one of her favorite uncles.
"Mom and Dad are busy with their work and Grandma is distracted, per usual, with her experiments so I came out by myself today." Not to mention her siblings probably would only have been a burden if not have only rolled their eyes if she invited them along. "I was just out getting some supplies," She patted her bag. "I had done some reading and found a few experiments that I would like to try."

Oooh, that was right, wasn't it? Khloris adored notions on malicious otherworldly creatures and stuff like that. If he didn't have various proofs that she was still alive, Iphis might have suggested experimenting on Mom. He had heard her referred to as a dread and immortal evil beyond human reckoning before. That would be right up Khloris's alley.
"You should come along with us," he said contemplatively, his mental landscape already offering merry images of the three of them skipping cheerfully down the street (his mental landscape was an exceptionally happy and sunshiney place, and structured this scenario even though it was highly unlikely that Zeev would skip and Khloris always looked like she lacked the appropriate limbs to do so; this did not deter his imagination). "We'll see if we can find you any haunted houses. Or, you know, haunted fabric stores. With ghostly glitter."

Shifting a package that he was carrying he resisted the urge to roll his eyes at his mate. He doubted there was anything that would ever dampen the canine's eternally happy-go-cheer mood.
Looking toward Khloris he gave a nod of his head. "It would be a pleasure to have you along."
When she agreed to come along with them he started off in the direction that they wanted to go. If he allowed it, he knew that it was possible for Iphis to never leave a spot once he got into a conversation.
Khloris gave into the urge to giggle at her uncle's comment. Life was never dull for a moment when hanging out with the male. "I would be glad to join along. Where are you heading to next?" Looking toward the bundles that they carried she wondered just how much more her uncle could possible need. He already had tons of material at home.

Iphis smiled and shrugged. He was tempted to just keep buying supplies, or random shiny things that caught his eye and might looking appealing on the fireplace mantle, or perhaps a nice little pair of booties for Clara since he had been neglecting her so horribly; it really didn't matter what. Buying things was just fun.
And he liked to have every conceivable crafting material handy in the off-chance that he might need it for some obscure project. You never knew when black pearls from the far reaches of the Selkie Lakes were going to come in handy.
"I was really just sort of wandering...." Though now he had the idea to get Khloris presents. He had to remind himself that his budget was not in fact infinite, and if was going to keep purchasing yards of tulle then he certainly couldn't afford to flounce about plotting to buy islands and castles and florist shops. Maybe cookies or something? Yeah. Cookies. Good plan. "Maybe we can get you some yummies. How's Elyse?"

The canine resisted the urge to smile when Iphis' mind turned back to their previous plan, especially since it was in a round about manner in having achieved so.
Slowing down his pace he made sure that both of them could, and would, keep up.
Khloris, on the other hand, smiled happily at her uncle's suggestion. She was always willing to take a break for something worthwhile, and something yummy was definitely on that list. Not to mention it sounded like just the thing that she was in the mood for.
Following after Zeev she answered his question. "Mom has been doing quite well recently. She has been a little busier than usual, what with that icky cold that is going around and everyone getting sick." And ever the faithful child she passed on a message that her mother had given her just that morning when she said she was going out. "She says that you and Uncle Zeev should come over some time for supper."

He hadn’t heard anything about going around (except that last week a potential customer had sneezed repeatedly on a display of doll clothes, which had been unfortunate), but supper sounded like a great plan, and he told Khloris so.
It had been too long since he had really spent time with Elyse, which was a shame, because she was still his favorite relative. Semi-relative. Fake-cousin thing. It was a tangled web: now that Mom and Auntie Minh had made babies together, did that make them officially related in some way? No, still no blood. It didn’t matter. Cousins it was!
“Just let us know when would be a good time to have us over,” he said. He didn’t know what her work and family schedule was like from day to day and didn’t want to impose. He smiled at the wolf next to him. “You don’t mind, do you, Zeev?”
