Dealer: Nyx Name: Blyn ID: SD0015 Suit: Spades Rank: Seven
Reaction to Announcement: On his travels, Bly had happened across the Court of Hearts. Strange that he would find himself there. As he stumbled along the streets, he saw a crowd gathered around what seemed to be a bulletin board. He pushed his way through and read the announcment. "Interesting." he thought, and wondered off to see if he might join this little adventure
Writing Prompt: Dark, great, just what he didn’t want to have to deal with. Blyn growled lightly under his breath, sitting down on his haunches, trying to decide what to do now. When he had set out on this little adventure of his, he had no idea that he would be sitting alone, cold and in the dark in some strange alley.
A sudden thought crossed his mind, what was he doing sitting on the cold ground. He could easily enough see where he is going. He didn’t use what small amount of power he had very often, but now seemed like as good a time as any. With a thought, he could see a few things in front of him. Granted everything was black or white, but at least he could try to make his way to somewhere that was a little more comfortable.
Blyn made his way slowly out of the alley, making sure not to trip or stumble over anything that he might find littering the ground. This was a handy little power, he would have to remember that and do more exploring after dark.
Once he reached the end of the alley, a smile drew on his lips. Very handy indeed. The feline rounded the corner and came face to face with a girl holding a small lantern. Blinding pain went though his head and he fell to the ground. Another thing he forgot. . .don’t look at the light when trying to see in the dark.

Just so people are aware again of timezone differences, it is currently noon-ish on the 10th here in London, whereas it's about 7am board-time. Any time from twelve hours from now on, this is subject to being closed and judged.
...*cannot wait for the quest* This has me so psyched. XD
Oh! And there's nothing against submitting an application for more than one character, also, if some of you feel up to it. Just gives us more to pick from. ^_^

Dealer: sera Name: Kelasia ID: SD012 Suit: Diamond Rank: Ten
Reaction to Announcement: When Queen Serafino first made his ‘wonderous’ announcement, Kelasia was just about completely unaffected; as if he’d be interested in –her- for anything and it wasn’t as though she had any reason to try. However, down the grapevine, meaning through Rogers, her coworker, Kel learned that Theofilus was applying and, suddenly, the skunk was a great deal more interested in the announcement. With a tilted head and a light tug on her lower lip, Kelasia trotted out to go re-read the announcement again.
Writing Prompt:
It shouldn’t have been a problem; Rogers often stepped out briefly for a quick run to the nearby café. It was just down the street from their office, after all. Any problem could wait until he returned, and Kelasia was quite good at hiding in the back room, shuffling about through the paperwork so quietly no one who came inside would know she was there.
So when the bell jangled to announce a customer, Kel didn’t even bother glancing up; instead she frowned over the Vullen account and tried to find out why the numbers weren’t lining up. She wasn’t immediately aware that whoever was out there was getting impatient; at least, not until the loud knocking started as the customer began to bang on the counter. Then came the voice, “Heee~~lllloooo? Some –service-, if you don’t mind! Shells, I swear, this service has been going down hill ever since that stupid bird took over.”
Kel’s tail bunched up in a sudden knot and she was moving out of the back office before she even realized it. As the ferret female, an Eight of Hearts of all ranks and suits, at the counter narrowed her eyes, the skunk had a sudden moment of severe and complete panic. She couldn’t do this!!!! But…but…. This ferret had insulted Theofilus! She couldn’t let the ferret continue to think badly about Theo! She swallowed hard and reached blindly for the only thing that could help her, “I’m sorry for the delay. May I help you?” The voice that came out was smooth and calm, and she could feel a confident smile curling her lips.
“Oh, well… yes,” the ferret answered snootily, but she seemed to be struggling for it. “I want to ship a crate of eggs from the Capital to the Range.”
”Well, I’m glad you chose our service.” Another confident smile that was certainly not her own. ”If you wouldn’t mind starting on this paperwork, our shipping specialist should be back shortly to finish the closing details. Is there anything else I may help you with today?”
“No, this is fine,” the Eight said quietly, eyes skimming over the paperwork.
”Well, if you need anything else, please don’t hesitate to call; I have some accounts to look over in the back.”
“All right and… thank you.”
”Thank –you- for choosing our service,” Kelasia said with one more smile, then she beat a hasty retreat into the back as shakes overcame her body. Light, she hated doing that! But the customer was pleased and somehow she had managed to help protect Theo’s honour. A small, shy smile slipped onto her face and this one was all hers as she quietly went back to work.

Dealer: Arielle/FlyingPanther Name: Julius ID: SD0087 Suit: Clubs Rank: Nine
Reaction to Announcement: Julius' eyes narrowed slightly, attempting to read the sign posted in front of the palace from a distance away, as Roxanne stood blocking his view, reading it for herself. After a brief moment, she came back, a mischievous look upon her maw. "Curious indeed. Looks like Queenie needs help from all suits. Some...quest." she waved a hand like she didn't care, but her mouth continued to smirk. "Ice water would be served in hell before I was picked to go...but you...my dearest friend. You would go for me wouldn't you? It might be beneficial to us in the future." again with the smirk, widening like that of a Cheshire. Julius sighed internally. She knew how to get him to do things he didn't particularly want to, though he had to admit intrigue.
Writing Prompt: ”Com’on boys! Let’s blow this joint!” Roxanne said in a singsong yet obviously stressed tone.
Julius and Trinculo waited at the gate of a rather large estate. A very wealthy individual had requested her ‘services’ that evening, and as usual, the two boys came with her. The man in question had not exactly anticipated an entourage, and naturally became cautious and a bit angry. He told them they would have to wait at the gate for her, and that they could not wait in front of the door like they said they would be doing. Roxanne had not been keen on the idea, but settled on the idea when money was promised.
Now Roxanne was running, full speed, towards them, her eyes showing clearly her fear. Trinculo sprang into action, flinging open the gate after some forceful pushing. Julius was the last to notice Roxanne’s urgency, and his eyes soon mirrored hers.
”What happened?” he shouted back at her in time to see her fall face first into the gravel. She let out a cry that betrayed that she might have broken something.
To make matters worse…hounds had just been released. He could hear them coming, howling feral in the night. In a split second he was at her side, and he saw just what might have happened. Cuts were littered all over her gorgeous body.
”The guys a nutcase! Get me the fuck out of here!” she said, nearly shouting the last part. She didn’t need to explain when her life was in danger!
Julius nodded, ”Grab a hold, m’lady.” he said, getting close to her and laying down on the ground.
With a couple grunts and awkward maneuvering, Roxanne finally situated herself on top of him, human hands grasping desperately at his wolf-like mane. He attempted to get back off the ground, but found that despite his lady’s slender frame, she was a dead weight. He summoned up all his strength, and tried to stand again. This time it was like she was as light as a feather upon him, and he quickly bolted, Roxanne gripping harder at his scruff to stay on.
He could hear the dogs behind them, howling and barking, gaining on them steadily. He was almost at the gate. He could see Trinculo dancing with an anxious look on his face, the dance equating to what one might call ‘the need-to-go-to-the-bathroom dance’. Julius’ eyes narrowed, even in this serious moment, Trinculo couldn’t keep his jokes at bay, though he hardly thought the weasel was actually joking about his worry.
The dogs were at his heals when he made it through the gate. Quickly Trinculo smashed the gate shut, right in the faces of the angry, snarling dogs. With a laugh similar to that of the wicked witch, he ran after the sprinting Julius, shouting ”Monkeys can’t catch the Weasel! Monkeys can’t catch the Weasel!”

Dealer: Arielle/FlyingPanther Name: Gojirra ID: SD0090 Suit: Clubs Rank: Jack
Reaction to Announcement: The feline hissed as he walked along, heading home from the Court of Clubs. He was not an official member of the court yet, though he was attempting to wiggle his way in. It shouldn't be to hard, he was after all a born Jack, something prized to be sure. He passed by the Palace of Hearts on his way back, curious about the commotion a certain sign had been stirring, though he had no clue what it read. He saw it in the distance, and after a slow walk, approached it reading what was written. His eyes narrowed in thought, as he assumed most did upon reading the news. It had been long since he had heard of the Queen's need of a Clubs assistance....
Writing Prompt: He had been born and raised a Chemical Corvistownian, but Gojirra couldn’t help but delve into all the different aspects of Corvistowne study. He knew a little of everything: Medical, Mechanical, etc. Like most of his people, he had a hunger for knowledge that simply could not be sated.
He had a client, drugged for comfort, laid before him on a cold metal table, strapped down by leather belts just incase he had not given the man enough sedative. The thought made Gojirra smile in a way that screamed sadistic. He never started off any of his operations without at least a local anesthetic, but that didn’t mean that he had any more to spare if someone…happened…to wake up.
He turned from the table, lowered to suit his animal form, and turned to another behind him. Upon the table lay various operating tools, as well as vials of unknown neon colored substances, and of course…his masterpiece. This particular client had been interested in his studies of creating protective mutations. He certainly wasn’t the first to come to him with the desire to be given a mutation, but something of this magnitude he had never done before.
On the table in a metallic pan within some clear but pinkish plasma, lay the body part to be attached. It had taken all his knowledge and all his magics to create such a masterpiece. He beamed at it like a daughter he was about to wed off. It resembled that of a Triceratops frill, created by making a metal framework and then culturing tough leathery skin to have grow around it. Horns were also added on, for flare and further defense. He sighed, wishing he could have made the metal framework from actual bone, but he could only recreate what he had the DNA for, and he wasn’t aware that something like a Triceratops existed, and he wasn’t about to search for that nonsense Underground Court. Instead, he settled with manipulating Stainless Steel into the frame he used.
He reached his feline paws in, grateful that if he wasn’t going to have a bi-pedal form, at least he had something that could work a little as hands. With a sloppy squish and gushing sound, the crest was brought forth from its plasma womb and carefully walked over to the other table where his client lay. At the bottom of the crest, metal protruded in the form of hooks. He placed these hooks on the skull of his patient, where only moments ago he had pealed back the skin to reveal the cream bone. With a mere thought, the hooks sunk in, almost life like with a sickening crunch. The metal snaked, situating itself so that it could hold on more effectively. With the crest now in place, Gojirra set to stitching the man up with a smile.
What a marvelous crest…

Dealer: Vyn Name: Ophelia ID: SD007 Suit: Spades Rank: 9
Reaction to Announcement: Ophelia had not spoken to her father in...well, she had to believe it was years, and yet a summon for her had come out of nowhere. Leaving the little ones with Silvanus, she arrived...only to be directed to an announcement and not her father. "Figures." She snorted beneath her breath, before peering at the sign. It was an announcement from the Queen of Hearts himself and announced that he was looking for four magically capable individuals from each suit. She could see why Varrius had sent for her, then. "Well, this does seem interesting!" With a slightly crooked grin, Ophelia haded toward the Heart's Palace for more information.
Writing Prompt: Crash!
The sound roused Ophelia from a very sound sleep...on her couch. She'd spent a late night working and had simply collapsed on the couch instead of making it the rest of the way to the small bedroom in the back. The house should've been empty, there shouldn't have been any noises except... CRASH! ...Except there it was again. The patter of feet now caught her attention, someone was moving. Ophelia twitched and with a single thought the world shone in a sharp relief of pristine black and white --odd, but useful-- and she grasped a small set of vials from the drawer beside her. If someone could see her from afar, it'd be obvious that she had dealt with this situation before. Professor Norrel down the street was always using little underhanded tricks at getting into her most recent works. It had worked at first but now she'd caught onto his methods.
WHAM!
Once more, this time the front door thudding open and Ophelia took off at a rushed sprint. With her adrenaline pumping, Ophelia forget about her previous exhaustion and allowed her natural Spade abilities to reach her. The black and white contrast of the house around her flashed by as she sprinted out into the yard and off in pursuit of the thief. His frightened yelp as she gained on him was her reward, but he wasn't slowing. That was where those vials finally came into play.
Filled with a special concoction that was highly reactive to water, Ophelia had turned three simple and rather fragile jars into flying projectiles. It delighted her to no end.
Flinging one in the thief's direction, Ophelia concentrated on forming water within the vial as it hurtled toward the thief and, within seconds of colliding with the man, it suddenly exploded. With the force of a mini-bomb hitting the man square in the back, Ophelia watched as he shouted and was flung off his feet in order to land face first on the road leading away from her shack. Sauntering forward, Ophelia grasped the bag the thief was wearing triumphantly and turned forcefully on her heel.
There was no way Norrel was going to get away with his dirty tricks so easily.

Dealer: Kitty Name: Osias ID: SD0013 Suit: Diamonds Rank: 10
Reaction to Announcement: A rather devious grin crept it's way over the vermin's muzzle, he remembered Serafino, and his hatred for that particular Queen was very, very real. This request also proved to him that the Queen of Hearts was -not- as capable of things as everyone was lead ot beleive and he presumed that this quest would require one ot dirty their hands and he did quite enjoy doing just that. There was a bit of a downside though, as Osias' interest had now been piqued, but it was only a downside if the Queen let his personal feelings for the rat have any sway over his decision. Osias knew he was just what the Queen needed, but would Serafino?
Writing Prompt:
Osias found himself dead center in enemy territory and what was worse is that the city was waking and he wasn't quite prepared for how bust it became as quickly as it did. He thought for sure that he had more time then this! However, his victim was rousing and he had to hide, he could hear voices just outside the door and if he were caught here and now the jig would be up and he'd never make it to being the Queen of Diamonds.
Quickly he slipped on his beloved jacket, nearly ripping it in his haste and almost simultaneously morphing into his animal form, plunging himself into a world of silence. He had, howwver, taken the time to fidn a hiding spot beforehand and skittered towards it and found it to be a tight squeeze, one requiring him to unjoint and adjust many of his bones ot squeeze through.... it was a crawl space, and one with a good vantage point.
He had made it in time to as he saw two quite lanky figures enter the room, quite shady in appearence but from the way they dressed and their mannerisums he could tell that these were his targets, the only problem was was that he couldn't HEAR them. How on earth would he EVER get the information he was sent to find?! He would not give up now, not this close! He concentrated on their faces, which he could see quite clearly from here and suddenly everything they were sayign was completely clear. Yes, the assassination attempt was planned for tonight, midnight exactly. He knew who, where, when and why and he smirked, safly secure in his little space. Reading lips was a language, and one of his natural gifts aloud him to read them perfectly.
( Dunno if it countsn ow... x.x )
