Fleur watched with a worried expression as her brother hopped off. She was supposed to be good and just sit and wait for him. But being a good girl was terribly difficult a lot of the time. At least he was nice about her screwing everything up... but really she didn't want to get him in trouble. What if Heike got super angry at her hurting herself again and her brother being a part of? What if Mommy was angry with her? What if... well there were too many to count on each of her toes.
When her brother returned she couldn't help but smile with tears in her eyes. On the verge of tears the little Doe did her best to keep her composure. She would have to thank her brother somehow when she got the chance. "Are those the right ones.... they look a lot bigger than usual."

Some part of Shelby was very relieved to see his sister still sitting in about the same place he left her...the rest of him was already dreading the moment when he'd have to see that horrible gash again. Hopefully it hadn't started bleeding again...his stomach churned at the thought, and he was glad for the fact that, as a Rabbit, it was physically impossible for him to throw up. He still might pass out though, so he had to keep his wits about him.
He stilled at the question, feeling worry wash over him even though he hadn't seen the wound yet, even, and he turned his head to make sure he got leaves from the plant he had wanted to. Sighing, he continued his hop towards Fleur. "Yeah, these are good for it...it's a new method that the Leverets taught me just the other day." Carefully, forcing himself to think only of what he had to do, Shelby sat by his sister and, taking a deep breath, looked down at the cut.
It really didn't look as bad as all that, now that it was cleaned up, but it still made poor Shelby queasy to see it. "These leaves also h-have some h-healing properties." He carefully mashed part of the leaf and put it into the cut, averting his eyes when a bit of blood leaked out. He next tore off a strip of the other leaf and began to wrap it around Fleur's leg, doing it mostly by touch but doing a decent job given that.

She winced when the crushed leaves were put on her wound. It stung a little, but as long as she focused on being brave nothing bad would happen right? Her brother was fixing her up and she should just stay quiet and thankful.
Though when she looked at him her face fell a bit. He wasn't actually looking at her leg most of the time, he was guessing. A rather large frown appeared on her face before she shook it off. "T-thank you. It looks good!" she said as cheerfully as she could muster.
It still hurt.
They were probably still going to get in trouble.
And she was still an ungraceful and not proper Doe. And she was fairly certian that she would always be like that. How could she grow up to be as graceful as her Mom? Or graceful at all. She was a floppy eared menace who didn't like to go to lessons and didn't really fit. Everyone said she was going to grow up proper but... what if she didn't want to?

Shelby didn't see the frown on his sister's face at his staunch avoidance, since his eyes were fixed firmly on the ground beneath his paws. A patch of the ground free from blood, just a bit of trampled grass and dirt that was slightly damp from the lake. Nothing to be worried about or afraid of there...unless he were allergic to grass. Man would that ever suck...his sister's words drew him out of the trance, and he hesitantly peeked over at the leg...to see it was all wrapped up and proper.
A bright smile lit up Shelby's face, then. "You're right, it does!" Humbleness? What was that? "I...I actually...did it!" He grinned at his sister, ears perked up. "I bandaged a cut without passing out or..." At the look on Fleur's face, Shelby's enthusiastic expression faltered. "...what's wrong, Sis?" His large ears drooped. Had he tied it too tight or something? She looked so upset...

The little rabbit snapped out of her frowning as soon as her brother spoke. Her eyes widened at his question. What was she supposed to say? Her nose wrinkled in thought. "I... well. It's fine." She shrugged and smiled. "You did a great job. I guess you're going to grow up and be a really good leveret huh?"
The little girl shifted her leg. It still hurt really bad. She knew that the pain was eventually going to go away. Not before she had to deal with telling the adults that she had managed to mess up. It wasn't like she could keep it a secret either. Someone was bound to notice the bandage.
"How long should we wait before I can walk?" She asked wiggling her toes. "If we stay out to long we're going to get yelled at... more so than now."

Shelby's nose wrinkled at his sister. He could tell she was lying, he could TELL. She was always an awful liar. She was just lucky she was so highly regarded that the other Rabbits didn't usually blame her for stuff. "I guess so," he mumbled, shrugging. He still had a lot to learn about being a good Leveret. Or so everyone said when he messed up.
And he knew, no matter what the little Doe said, that the most she would get from the adults would be a firm scolding...-maybe- a little lecture. He'd get yelled at, a long lecture, and probably extra chores, including having to help his sister while she couldn't do things by herself as much. Ugh. Spending -that- much time with Fluer would just be a nightmare, because he knew she'd be all whiney about it...
Shelby blinked out his distressing thoughts when he was asked the question. "Well...if you can try to keep it raised in the air instead of walking -on- it...we maybe could go soon," he said reluctantly. "But we still have a bit until they expect us back, and I'm not in any hurry to get yelled at!" He grabbed his ears and yanked at the thought, trying to stay calm and not start dreading the lectures already.

The little Doe wiggled her toes. "I'm really sorry I'm such a klutz," she said staring down at the ground. This was completely her fault. She always tripped and stumbled because she was just so terribly awkward. Everyone said she would grow into it but... really was she going to?
"I'll tell them it was all my fault, and they'll go easy on you...." she looked up at her brother with a frown painted on her face. If she vouched for him they shouldn't give him that much of a lecture right? If she tried to be a good sister it would go a long way right? She was an adorable little girl who needed to learn charm and honesty so.... might as well try it now?
Mother was going to be so upset. The thought made tears come to her eyes, but she made sure to prevent them from spilling over in plain sight.

Shelby frowned at the grass, ears tightly clutched in his paws, tail wiggling unhappily. Despite his firm warning to himself to not start thinking about all those lectures, his imagination was already running wild with what would happen when they got back to the Warren and met with one of the Leverets or, worse, their parents! This distraction meant he barely heard what his sister was saying...until her muffled words (his habit of clutching his ears made it harder to hear while doing so) and sad tone got through to him.
Shelby glanced up, dropping his ears in surprise. "You'd...do that for me?" It made him feel a bit guilty for how ungracious he'd been to his sister in his thoughts. Despite how much she wanted to impress their Mom...she'd still admit her guilt? Not that it really was her fault. She just...had an unfortunately high propensity to trip.
"...that's real nice of you, Fleur..." Of course, he'd still probably take a lot of the blame...but he didn't have the heart to object with that. Reluctantly, he glanced toward the Warren, back up the hill...oh that was going to be fun to get the injured Doe up. Ugh. He really just...didn't want to go back yet. Not before they had to. Shelby's ears twitched in thought, and he glanced back at Fleur. "Wait here for a minute." So saying, he hopped off towards the water's edge a little bit away.
As long as they were here, they might as well still get that watercress. Maybe it would cheer Fleur up?

She nodded at his response. She didn't really want to take the blame--who did?--but it was her fault that she had tripped. And she had been told time and time again that running wasn't very lady like and would only get her hurt. Of course the adults were right.
She snapped out of her small haze when her brother announced for her to wait here. She opened her mouth in protest, only to shut it promptly. It wasn't like the other rabbit was going to abandon her. She curled her toes and waited quietly, unsure of what to do. She wanted to try to get up and walk a bit, but she should probably let the bandage set.
But sitting here and doing nothing was terribly boring. Shelby would probably be back soon. She glanced towards the warren. They would be expecting her back before Shelby since she had left early from her lessons. Hopefully it wouldn't take too long to go up the hill...

Knowing he had to be quick, since he didn't want to leave his sister there by herself, Shelby stopped just short of flinging himself -into- the patch of watercress. Panting slightly, the little Rabbit gathered up several of the plants in his paws, though dropping some due to not being as good with the fumbling things as more experienced Leverets, before transferring them to his mouth and running back towards where he left Fleur.
He dropped the plants on the ground to call, "Fleur, I brought somethin' for us to eat before we go back!" His tail wiggled and he pushed the watercress closer to her, nibbling on one of the succulent stems himself as well. "Fleur?" She seemed a bit distracted, and Shelby considered poking her to see if he could get her to jump!...oh, wait, bad idea...she was hurt right now. Darn. Being a little brother wasn't as much fun when your sister wasn't well enough to be played tricks on!
