Did... the crazy girl just give her advice? Was she actually trying to bait her to beg by taunting her with the book? Did this woman actually think she held some advantage over her? That she'd bend down to kiss her ass just because she held something of vague interest to her? What kind of groveling whore did this bitch think she was?!
"It would be wise of you to follow your own advice," the ice cold glare Heilyn gave Peaches coupled with her magical ability to make her aura more frightening was enough to make anyone below the rank of King feeling mighty uncomfortable, more so if the cat were to make eye contact. My bipedal form may be smaller than most, but I can assure you, I am no push over. She shook off her anger. There was no need to waste her energy on the little crazy. She returned to attention to her book, tuning out the cat. The warning shot had been fired. Pravus or no, Heilyn had every right to do what she felt necessary should the cat push any more of the wrong buttons.

"Oi!" Peaches shook her head and moved to the very edge of the bench. Okay. Apparently there was quite a bit of a misunderstanding. If Peaches had been in her biped form her fur what have been standing up on end. People were so very touchy in courts! If it hadn't been her life long dream she would have left this damn place.
"I didn't mean it in a snarky sort of way!" She huffed. "I was simply stating a fact that I thought was true. I'm sorry." For the love of suits why did people think she was off her head all the time? She just wanted to come put and say I watch you while you're sleeping. Instead she rolled her eyes and continued to eat her sandwich. Once she was done, she looked over at the annoyed coyote. She wasn't going to give up her bench because there was some pissed off little girl sitting next to her.
"Elder's Summons. The closet copy that I know of that may or may not be accessible to the public is an Esterberry. Even if you don't want to learn about summons it has interesting views on the basics and transitive properties." With that said the feline growled and leaped up to grab hold of the branch, bagged lunch in mouth. She made her self quite comfortable sitting above the coyote and eating her apple.

[Oh, Heilyn, you just love to overreact, don't you? <3 ]
It took Heilyn a moment to realize the cat had spoken to her. She paid attention enough so that she caught the gist of what the cat said. If it was more insults, the cat would receive a cold shoulder that had reached absolute zero. However, this girl and that silly little book she claims to have may still be useful. She paused after Peaches finished, slowly turning a page.
"I am more than willing to start this conversation over, then, Peaches, but that is completely dependent on you." This was not entirely truthful, as Heilyn would remember everything the girl did. It would be stupid to disregard undeniable truth. She was entirely unsure why the girl was still talking to her, even though she was so obviously displeased. Forgetting that this spot was Peaches' favorite spot in the garden, Heilyn figured the girl was just a glutton for punishment.

Peaches remained silent until she finished her apple. She wasn't sure how to deal with this bitchy little coyote who was obviously lying through her teeth. That or she just enjoyed being a bitch. The feline wasn't quite sure of which.
"Hello. My name is Peaches. I am not as out of my head as people say I am. Now, please stop talking to me like a child." Peaches said as she tore something out of her lunch bag and popped it into her mouth. Chocolate. It made her feel better when people were being idiots. This was no exception.
The one thing Peaches could not stand was being spoken down to. She had the tendency to fly off the handle if it wasn't someone who was a higher rank than her. She was being particularly nice to Heilyn for Xiven's sake and nothing more. The moment she got bored of playing this dangerous little game she was going to hop out of the tree and leave.
She wasn't bored yet. It would take a while for that to set in.

Heilyn's ear twitched as she continued to divide her attention between Peaches and the book. When she said "start over" she didn't exactly mean for introductions to be included as well.
"I hadn't noticed I used a condescending tone at you," Heilyn mumbled, the comment reminding her of the encounter with Xiven. Just as there are four corners of the magical circle, there are four corners within ourselves. Opening the gates to said corners-- "My apologies." I wasn't going by what other people said about you, I was going by what you presented to me. --are essential to creating magic. It is a complicated matter, but can be broken down simply for those not as enthusiastic about the art, but easily elaborated on later without having to re-learn--
"I met your daughter not too long ago. She's a nice kid. How is she?"

Oh thank the stars above a change of subject. The feline took the opportunity to shift her weight and lay down on the branch in a very awkward and cat-like manner. "Xiven is doing well. She's rather fond of you. I've never heard her talk about anyone that much before besides Pravus. I wanted to see who she was talking about more than ever. I thought this might be the perfect opportunity."
And Peaches was not impressed. Watching the Heilyn from afar was fantastic. Talking to her was just a bit of a frustrating mess. The feline had half a mind to roll out of the tree and onto the bench. She thought better off it, thinking that it would hurt entirely too much.
"You do have a very low tolerance for playing dumb. I probably shouldn't have tested to see if it was true. My mistake." She shifted a bit, untangling her hair from one of the upper branches. "Might I add, you don't seem to smell as strong as you supposedly used to. Have you been using perfume?"

The coyote had to look up from her book at the cat at the mention of her child's fondness for her. An obvious look of interest in the subject. Does she really like me that much? Huh, I honestly never would have guessed...
"It is one of the best ways to get on my bad side: to make me think you're useless or stupid. However, usually I catch on to when people are pretending. You did an excellent job on that much. Mistakes happen."
That doesn't necessarily mean they should be forgotten, though. She turned her attention back to her book as she spoke up to the cat.
"Well, you are in your human form, so it is not as powerful. On top of that, since I left the Bog, I've been eating the food here, keeping myself very clean, and in general just existing in this environment will make the scent more faint than it once was. Perfume only makes the problem worse. It covers it, then begins to mix with it. Trust me, I've tried it." That, and she didn't much trust "magical scents" that much.

Peaches knew perfectly well that Heilyn either thought she was still stupid or that she wasn't forgiven for her stupidity. Grudges were fantastic little things that never really went away. Heilyn seemed like the sort to keep them. All the better for Peaches to poke at.
"Well, even if I was in my biped or animal form, my sense of smell isn't fantastic as a cat. Unless you're tuna fish, that's a different story entirely," Peaches almost purred. She paused to take another bit of chocolate. At least her meal was good, if the meeting wasn't. Peaches still hadn't decided on if this was successful or not.
"You know, I heard that there was a sketchy but good place that opened in the Outer edges of the Bazaar that did quite a few interesting things. I imagine you could get a magical scent that wouldn't have any crazy side effects there." The feline had half a mind to go there herself, but she had no real need to.

Heilyn's ear twitch at the tuna comment, not entirely sure what to say. Even if the girl had something that resembled intelligence, but her overall strangeness sure was making it difficult to find it. Her ear twitched again at the mention of a shop on the outer bazaar. 'Sketchy but good'. The description did not appeal to the paranoid little Bog dweller, especially when it came to applying a magical substance directly to herself.
"I'll... look into it..." she said, unsure of what else to say to the woman. She marked her book with her finger as she looked up to the cat. Might as well try to make her future in the courts working along side this woman as less miserable as possible, right?
"Do you have any other kids, besides Xiven?" she said, throwing out the first topic that actually held some interest to her.
