His fixation on flying was less than desirable--that's what people told him. He was supposed to be happy on the ground. No, no that's not how it was going to work. He was sure of it. Rocco wanted to be like the birds when he was younger, and to this day it was still his desired. He just couldn't make his wings big enough to work. He thought of everything else but... not that. Perhaps if he took a day off from his studies (the blasphemy!) he would be able to get a fresh look on the world of flight. Maybe he could track down someone who could teach him how to fly in theory. Diagrams were great and all, but sometimes a person needed a demonstration. Even though that wouldn't exactly be a break. Rocky shrugged as he trotted along enjoying the scenery as he went. He loved his town, he just wished that someone would take the time to say hello. It was understandable of course, everyone was busy with some experiment. Maybe a stranger would grace his presence for today? Today would be exciting regardless of how many times he didn't miss the ground.

This wasn't at all Parvana's day. The shipments of the conductive wiring she needed hadn't come in and when she'd actually gone out to gather her shipments. This wasn't exactly Parvana's idea of a pleasant outing and it definitely wasn't a break from work. It was always so obnoxious the way others reacted to the rare butterfly wandering through the streets. Gasps and pointed fingers, mutters from strangers and the insistent interrogation from children. No. Parvana much preferred to stay to herself and get her work done in the privacy of her home and her lab. So much for that. Her fluttering wings carried her above the crowd, above curious people who refused to learn the meaning of 'look but do not touch', and brought her, at last...to the store she needed. The wire conducts that she needed could be found here, hopefully. Folding her wings close to prevent them being injured, she alighted upon the side walk not far from Rocco and began toward the store front. After all this, she really did hope they had her parts! Mind you, now, this was not to say that Parvana was not a 'social butterfly', so to speak, she was merely a little shy upon first meeting and this was very much an understandable trait. Her mother and father never allowed her out and even now she was only able to venture out on her own because they had passed and she was forced to make a living on her own. It was a delightfully interesting change, but it was also just that: a change. She was still getting used to the crowds and the crowds were still getting used to a butterfly flitting about.

Rocco froze. He watched as the graceful butterfly flew past the crowd. It was... absolutely amazing. Flight was just so beautiful, and the butterfly was so elegant as she preformed the amazing act.
Rocco simply had to know more. He needed to know more. He just had to find out about her. He quickly bounded after the butterfly, a rare breed indeed. What a curious girl, perhaps he could ask her questions about how she flied. He had been living in this part of Corvistowne for years... but he had never seen her. Perhaps she was new to this part of the region? Corvistowne was a big place after all.
The raccoon tripped over his paws as he stumbled forward. Catching himself she slipped up besides the young lady. "Excuse me miss!" he practically sang, "I haven't seen you around here. My names Rocco, call me Rocky." He extended a paw, trying his hardest to contain his excitement. Hopefully he wasn't too forward.

Parvana nearly flinched upon hearing the voice of another suddenly so close to her, and with such pure enthusiasm that the young female simply didn't know what to do with herself. She stood for a long moment, with her face a blank slate before slowly but surely her posture relaxed and she offered a warm smile. "Oh... uhh... Hello! Rocky, is it?" She shifted ever so slightly, obviously unadjusted to having company. "I'm Parvana and, ah...no, not many have." Her wings fluttered nervously though the motion itself was hypnotically airy. "...I don't really get out much."Slowly she eyed the shop she'd been intending to enter before Rocky leapt over. Well, it wouldn't hurt too much to talk to him before they went in to get supplies. "Is there something I can do for you, Rocky?"(Sorry for taking so long. Life 'n' all that. )

He watched carefully as she flapped her wings. Pravana. He would remember that name. The raccoon would make sure they met again. Not in that creepy stalkerish sort of way, of course. He would just try to pull some strings. She was such an amazing lady after all. He could not understand why she, of all the residents in Corvistowne, would hide away.
Rocky wiggled his little wings. "As you might be able to see, I'm interested in flight." He blushed a bit as he spoke. Why was he so suddenly intimidated by the stranger? She could only refuse to speak with him, and she was kind enough to indulge him at this very moment.
"But finding someone who can fly around her is sometimes extremely difficult. Seeing you made my heart skip a beat. I've been quite stuck on my studies as of late. Perhaps you could help enlighten me after you finish your business?" She was a sign. She had to be.
(( OOC: <3 no problem. Sorry it took me so long. ))

Parvana listened politely to Rocky's words, listening to his excitement with a soft smile. So he was interested in flight? She absently stretched out her own wings, watching the span of them before tucking them back to her sides and studying Rocky's. Well, there was his problem, wasn't it? His wings were much too small to support his body, terrestrial wings she believed they were called.
No amount of practice and training would help lift him off the ground, but she was sure he knew that as well.
"I would be more than happy to enlighten you in any way I might be able, dear Rocky. I need only step inside for a moment and gather some supplies. You're free to wait for me here, or accompany me inside." It would be nice to have a gentleman with her, now wouldn't it? "And then once I am done we can return to your lab, or mine if you would prefer it, and go over some of your studies, yes?"
The lovely butterfly had an unusual accent and, if one noted, had a very demure and proper way of speaking. In fact, it much rivaled the classical 'southern belle' aside from the eccentric little twist her Corvistownian heritage gave her.
(Finally getting time to reply to all my threads in proper<3 Hope you'd still like to continue this, luff? [squish])

(( Of course I would love to <3 ))
"I could never let a lovely lady carry supplies by herself, if that's the case. Most of my studies are memorized, so I think your lab would be more appropriate." The raccoon said with a skip and a hop towards the building she was heading for. In reality Rocky's lab was a disaster area, and he hardly wanted anyone to see it while there was no visible desk space. Or floor space. Or even paths to walk through. He really needed to clean up more often.
Rocco was entirely too happy to notice any accent or tone in the butterfly's voice. Parvana was such a rare occasion the raccoon couldn't help but skip into the building and hold the door open for her. Rocky did remember his manners sometimes. He grinned at her, and waited for her to complete her business.
Oh well. He could take the day off some other time.

Parvana beamed happily upon receving Rocky's energetic offer to assist. Ah, so there were proper gentlemen left in the world. If her mother were still alive, Parvana would've quietly delighted in proving her wrong. Not everyone out here was all too bad and Rocky, while being eccentric, seemed especially kind. After all, in the end, just about anyone of he Corvistownian persuasion was quite eccentric.
She herself was living proof of that.
Gliding inside gracefully on six delicate limbs, she dipped her head thankfully to Rocky and began on her way through the store. She had an idea where everything would be, so she could move directly to it without dallying on with asking the clerk questions or the like. Rocky did seem quite eager to get to work, didn't he? And Parvana couldn't blame him, she was a bit eager herself. His studies sounded interesting if nothing else!
"Thank you, Rocky! I shouldn't be too long, especially with your help."
As she moved about gathering her things, Parvana continued idle conversation with the raccoon accompanying her through the store.
"How long have you been interested in the study of flight, Rocky?"

Rocky blinked. How long had it been since he wanted to fly? How long had it been since he started studying his only passion. "I think since I was eighteen. Well. It was "official" when I turned eighteen. I actually started reading books about how it was possible and such when I was about twelve. So quite some time I guess."
He blinked at the sudden realization that he hadn't the slightest idea what Parvana studied. "Would you mind if I ask what you study? I suppose it's rude of me just to approach you without asking what you're interested in. I suppose I could help in some way, or maybe I know someone who could help you." He grinned even wider. He had to at least try to repay such kindness. There were so few people willing to help him with research, and books could only go so far. "I have to thank you for offering to help me. You have no idea how much I appreciate it."

Parvana was quite glad that Rocky had been the first to really approach her. His sweet charm and enthusiasm was pleasantly relaxing and eased the shy butterfly's way into the store.
"Ooo, this really has been a life-long pursuit, hasn't it Rocky? That's quite delightful! Its so nice to see people following their passions!"
As Rocky questioned her, Parvana paused before the rack she'd been searching for. It contained quite a few rolls of copper coils and wire casing. For anyone who recognized such things, it wouldn't be hard to recognize where Parvana's interest sprung.
"Electricity, to be honest. My parents had always wanted me to become a doctor like them, but it never fascinated me like electricity did. It's simply brilliant." She smiled fondly, fetching a few coils of wire from the shelf and adding them gently into the bag. "...I've done some private experiments with mechanics as well, and produced some simply astounding results."
She mused on her work for a moment longer before hesitating. Oh my, she'd gone off on a little tangent! Blushing slightly, she shook off her thoughts and tilted her gaze back to Rocco.
"Ah, but I'm getting off topic... You're very welcome, Rocky, I'm more than glad to lend my assistance where I can. In fact, I believe I've got all I needed; we can head out now."
