Taking the box the Heron held out she opened it to see the two blue eyes that, if everything went, would be the new eyes for her eagle friend. “This is a very nice creation,” she complimented as she handed back the box.
She was still a little confused by all that was going on, especially since the Heron seemed set on carrying on their procedure within record time. When Eilwyn asked what it was that they were going to do to him in order to restore his sight, she looked at the Heron a little expectantly. She would leave it to him to answer the bird’s questions; she just hoped that he would not say anything that would cause him to freak out.
She would never cause him known harm and not from fear of retaliation of his family – though they were something to fear if that was your goal.

Temmin smiled, his eyes slitting slightly in an obvious expression of pain as his chest clenched slightly, tightening around his ribs and cutting...damn.
He turned to the Eagle in mild surprise as the Corvie gave his box back.
"You don't know... Ah, well, this may sound a bit gruesome at first, lad, but I can assure you that you won't feel a thing, it won't take long, and you'll be pleased with the results."
He felt distinctly uncomfortable now, what with his body rebelling and the poor boy's distress.
"We're going to give you some sedatives to knock you out, then remove your old eyes and replace them with these nice new ones. Then you'll wake up, I'll give you some medicine and you can go home."
The Heron said brightly, trying to keep his voice chipper, but shooting sidelong glances at the other Corvie, wondering why she hadn't told the Bird.
Laying out scalpels and readying the boiling water, Temmin reached into his bag and drew out a syringe. The sedatives were ready as well.

Eilwyn's heart nearly leaped out of chest in protest at the man's words. As much as he wanted to bolt, now more than ever, he couldn't. He had to trust Elyse and this complete and utter stranger. He really didn't know how to react without crying or whimpering, and that wouldn't help the situation all that much.
That and there was something about the way Temmin was talking that made Eilwyn uncomfortable. He wanted to get this over and done with since he was already here. Why didn't Elyse tell him what was going on? She should have known if she set this whole thing up.
"Okay," Eilwyn said in a small voice. Having his eyes scooped out of his head and having them replace really wasn't something that he was too keen on thinking about. He just hoped nothing went wrong. Elyse better have known what she got them into.

She shifted from foot to foot slightly a little confused by why it seemed that Temmin expected her to know everything that was going on. All she had done was research to find out about him, but from the way the heron was speaking it would seem that someone had actually set up the meeting and procedure. For some reason she found herself wondering if Rocky had done more then just informed her about the avian.
She watched as Eilwyn went to sit where Temmin had motioned for her friend to take a seat beforehand. She followed behind him, coming to rest on the other side of him than Temmin. She grasped one the eagle’s hands, giving it a gentle squeeze to let him know she was next to him.
“You are not to worry, Wyn, alright? I will be here and I swear nothing bad will happen to you okay?” She was promising not only him but herself. She had convinced him to do this, even if he had wanted it, and so it was her responsibility to see him through safely.

Temmin watched as the Eagle sat hesitantly in the area he had indicted, taking a look into the other Bird's face he saw just how glassy the eyes were. Cataracts...and at such a young age, how odd. Must have been genetic...
Grabbing a small bottle of amber liquid from his bag, he filled the syringe. Turning to the Eagle he patted his shoulder and muttered reassuringly.
"Don't worry, you'll feel a small pinprick, then you'll go to sleep for just a bit. I promise you'll wake up again, but not until your friend and I are done, ok?"
He still felt worried though, the pain was getting worse and to top it all off the patient had no clue what was going on and his assistant...she didn't even appear to know what was going on...where had the communication been lost? Ah, well...you take what you can get.
"Ok, here we so, Sir..."
He murmured, trying to calm the Eagle, rubbing his back in small circles as he administered the shot. Within two minutes the eagle would pass out, allowing himself and the girl to begin.

Eilwyn wanted to wince at the pinprick. He did not like needles when he was younger and he still didn't like them. That and being injected with an unknown liquid that was going to put him asleep didn't settle all that well with him.
But the man promised, even if there was a note of something in his voice that still bothered Eilwyn. It was the same note that Zane used when he was worried about something important to him. What was the man so worried about if he said everything was going to be okay...? Something was missing, and Eilwyn just couldn't piece it together.
Eilwyn suddenly felt immensely tired. It was unnatural, and he didn't like it, but it was really quite impossible to fight. He struggled a bit mentally, of course, but he gave into sleep. The rubbing on his back did help rather nicely with that.

She was aware that the eagle did not like needles, so she winced when the heron injected her friend. Watching as her friend was affected by the injection and finally gave in and fell asleep she gave a small sigh. Well that was definitely one step done. Now came all the hard parts.
She felt her hands shake a little from nervousness. Taking a deep breath to help steady the shaking, she closed her eyes and took a few deep breathes to help clear her mind of all her fears and hesitations.
She could do this, she knew she could.
There was no going back now, so she might as well be the one to take the next step.
Ignoring any remaining feelings of fear, she gave the Heron a strong smile. “Alright. Let’s do this.” She gave a firm nod of her head. “Wot do we need to do first?” She asked looking to the Heron for directions.

Temmin sighed and lay the Eagle out on his back, carefully arranging the wings so that the poor boy wouldn't wake up with pains.
"Well, first we're going to have to numb the area so that the nerves don't jump while he's asleep."
So saying, he handed another syringe and a tiny vial of clear liquid to the mix.
"Just at the corner of each eye, please. While you do that, I'll prep the knives and the sewing hooks."
He threw her a small smile, trying to help her relax, she couldn't tremble like that when they were removing the eyes...
"Don't worry, miss. Your firend will be alrigh so long as we work together. Once I've gotten these sterilized, I'll make the first few cuts and show you what to do. You're not squeamish, I hope?"

“Working together does sound like a very good plan.” She replied lightly, hoping to help lighten the mood some. She took the syringe and a tiny vial of clear liquid that he handed her with a small nod of acknowledgement at the directions he had given her.
She made quick work of filling the syringe with the clear liquid. Arranging herself at the side of her friend that she was on, she placed the vial down before taking the syringe in her right paw. All of this would probably be easier if she had her bipedal or human form.
Her hands were much steadier now, and with a careful eye she injected the solution into the corner of his right eye before moving to his left. She was really glad that her friend was out for all of this.
After she was finished she turned her attention back to the Heron. “The injections are done in both eyes, Temmin. ”
