Eilwyn opened the door in his usual manner, since he had the bandages around his eyes. His hands were shaking slightly though. He finally had his eyesight back! He was finally going to be able to see everyone again! He opened the door and let Elyse walk in before him. A smile was on his beak as he slipped in behind her and carefully closed the door. "Dad!" he called out. He knew someone would be in the apartment. Even though dad was away at the courts a lot now, there was always a chance that he was home. Theofilus jumped a bit. He hadn't expected anyone else to be home. He got up from the bed carefully. He had been trying to take a nap, but that plan was already shot down by fate apparently. He sighed as he walked out to greet his son. And he stopped dead in his tracks. "What's going on?"

As they drew closer to Eilwyn’s home she found herself becoming nervous. She had never met any of Wyn’s family though she had heard a lot about them. When he opened the door and motioned for her to go first she slipped inside. Standing inside the entryway, Wyn’s hand still grasped in hers, she took in the decorations. His home was definitely not like the one she grew up in. As she took in the home with wide eyes she turned to look back at Wyn when he called for his dad. Hearing nails clicking on the floors she turned around to face a Sparrow, who she assumed to be Wyn’s dad though they did not look the same. From his tone she felt her eyes grow wide. She was hoping that he would not overreact. Finding herself suddenly very nervous she tightened her grasp on his hand a little. Waving her other hand in front of her, the hand held sideways, she quickly replied, “This is not wot it looks like.” She glanced back at Wyn again sending a silent plea for him to step in and help.

"Dad! I can see now!" Eilwyn carefully took the bandages off with his free hand. He was happy to see his Dad once again. He looked exactly like Eilwyn remembered... just a bit older and missing an eye. He had a look of complete shock on his face too.
Theofilus was shocked, if that even began to describe what it was. "I... think I need to sit down." The sparrow admitted as he wandered over to a chair and carefully took a seat. He shook his head. Was this really happening or was it a dream?
"Elyse helped me get my sight back and... uh... she should probably explain the technical stuff but ultimately I can see!" He wanted to rush over and give his Dad a hug, but he didn't seem to be doing all that well. Maybe he was just shocked because of the news? Probably. It was a really big thing to have his eyesight back when the other doctors said he would be blind for the rest of his life.
Oh. So that was the Elyse person that Eilwyn had spoke about. "It's nice to meet you, Miss Elyse. I'll fix some tea in a few minutes but, I would greatly appreciate if you would explain what's going on first."

Following the two birds to the sitting room, the mouse looked about shiftily before taking a seat in one of the empty chairs.
“It is nice to meet you too. Wyn has said a lot about you, so it is a pleasure to finally meet you.” At his request that she explain what had happened she looked to Eilwyn before replying. She was not sure how much the eagle would want to know about what had happened to him, so she decided to give a brief explanation and if the sparrow wanted more he could ask questions.
“Ever since I was little I have always wanted to become a healer. I met Wyn in the Park a many years ago, and when he told me about his eyes I wanted to help him if I could. I contacted a professional healer, Temmin, and he helped me to give Wyn new eyes.” That was it in a nutshell.

"Oh..." Theofilus said blinking a few extra times at the girl. Really. That was... amazing. For once in a long time Theofilus was completely and utter speechless. All he could really do was look from Eilwyn to Elyse.
"Are you okay Dad?" Eilwyn asked with a worried expression, he was about to get up when his Theofilus waved a hand motioning that he was fine. Well, if he wasn't talking he was obviously shocked. "Well.... Elyse took me to the doctor and they fixed everything. If you want I can make the tea for all of use."
The sparrow shook his head and got up to walk into his kitchen. He had no idea what he was going to tell the rest of the family when he saw them. Oh this was just... a miracle.
"S-sorry about Dad," Eilwyn said as turned to Elyse, "I guess he's just a little frazzled. All the doctors said I would never be able to see again."

When Eilwyn’s father looked at her, blinking more times then was necessary, she gave a timid smile in return. She was a little worried by his response to what she had told him. He did not seem angry . . . but it seemed like he was taking the news pretty roughly, though if that was in a good way or not she was not sure. She hoped that he was not mad at her.
At Eilwyn’s words to her she gave a nod of her head. That helped to calm her nerves. “Wot I gathered about Temmin is that he is a little more . . . experienced is the only word I can come up with, in his dealing with conditions.” She gave a little shrug. She was not about to question how it had been able to be done, she was just glad that he could see now. “I guess that would be a shock to anyone, especially to someone who cares about you so much.”

Theofilus was far from angry. In fact he was overjoyed, and very shocked. The shock wasn't about to go away. Everything he had been worried about Eilwyn's future was almost completely gone. Well, all the parts about him not being able to make a living because he was blind and in turn terrified of quite a few new things.
After a short while the sparrow returned with the proper number of tea cups. He sat down the tray on one of the tables before taking his cup and returning to his seat. Now. What was he supposed to say?
Eilwyn carefully picked up one of the cups. He never was one for tea, he just drank it because everyone else did. He wanted to open his beak and ask if Dad was angry, but he knew the answer would be no. It didn't help the tension in the room.
"Thank you," Theofilus finally said after a few good sips of tea. "Thank you very much for helping Eilwyn, Miss Elyse. If there's anyway I can repay you, I would be more than happy to."

When the sparrow returned from his adventure to the kitchen, carrying three tea cups, she gratefully took hers after he had placed them on the table. Sniffing at it she gave a smile when she discovered that it was one of her favorite blends. Tea in general had all sorts of herbal aspects, and Mnem had taught her a lot about the different herbs that went into making tea.
She took a few sips before setting it down to cool some before she took any more. At his thanksgiving she gave him a broad smile. “It was nothing, Mr. Theofilus. I was more then happy to help Wyn out.” she readjusted the objects she held in her lap before continuing, “I did not do it with the intent that you should feel indebted to me. Though if you feel you must I will not argue, I just do not think that I will have any need for it.” She gave a one shoulder shrug.

Wyn? She had a nickname for Eilwyn. Interesting. Did that mean she was more than just a friend, or just a very close friend. Eilwyn hadn't mentioned anything about that, but sometimes the boy was more clueless about the opposite sex than he was. That was saying a lot.
Theofilus fiddled with the cup in his hand. "I simply feel the need to offer you something because of what you've given to Eilwyn and our entire family. You do realize you gave us hope where no one else could?" The sparrow smiled. She was a sweet girl. Hadn't Eilwyn mentioned something about her being related to the Queen of Clubs?
Eilwyn looked at his tea and the cup in his hands. Wow, they looked a lot different than they felt. Did Dad always give him one of the nicer cups? Had tea always looked this bland? Things were a lot different when you could see. He looked back up from Elyse to his Dad. "You know... you don't have to be so serious. Shouldn't we be celebrating?"
The sparrow couldn't help but chuckle. "All right. I guess we'll have to have a little party once the whole family knows. I suppose Miss Elyse will be one of the guests of honor, how does that sound?"
Eilwyn grinned and looked to Elyse for conformation.

Well that just went to show that things could happen if you truly put your mind to it, she thought to her self, a happy smile on her face. She was really glad that she had been able to help Wyn out so. Maybe this would make it a little easier on the eagle.
“A celebration party sounds like just the thing.” she replied easily. She was not sure how she felt being a guest of honor though. That seemed like the role that should be given to Wyn, after all.
At Eilwyn’s grin she felt something flutter in her chest. It was not possible, was it? Was she developing a crush on him? Blinking she covered up the awkward feeling, instead she gave a nod. “Yes, that sounds like it would be a lot of fun. Just let me know the date and I will be sure to show up.” After taking a sip of tea, she gave a giggle before giving Wyn a big grin. “Congratulations!”
