Peaches hummed quietly as she walked down the hall with Xiven following at her heels. Pravus had only seen his daughter alone officially once before, when she was a newborn. He didn't seem very excited about the whole thing. Proud she was a Queen but highly disappointed of her region--it was a confusing matter. Peaches hadn't bothered him since then about Xiven. Xiven had another idea though. She very much wanted to meet her Papa. How could she not idolize such a man from a distance. She knew she could never be perfect for her Papa, but she could be pretty close. At least that's what she hoped. That's why she insisted on seeing him. She couldn't go alone... that was just a bit to scary. She looked up at her mother as she knocked on the door of Pravus' chambers. It just seemed so very odd that her mother actually took the time to roll up one of her sleeves and knock with one of her gloved hands. It must meant that Pravus was special, Mommy didn't do that for most people. "Pravus, Xiven and I wanted to talk to you," Peaches said through the door as she rolled her sleeve back down.

Pravus was laying down, bored with the day. His ankles were crossed and hands behind his head as he twitched his foot and stared at the ceiling. It was odd to have no one in the dungeon worth questioning, and odder yet that there was nothing besides that to entertain his time An audible sigh slipped from his muzzle. Why was nothing interesting happening? And then the knock came at the door and Pravus blinked slowly before swinging his feet from the bed. Ah. . he winced just slightly. He'd rahter have not had this to entertain him, or rather bother him. But he had expected it, sooner or later. It wasn't as if his daughter was a disappointment. A feline heart born Queen. Surely she wasn't a disappointment at all. He supposed he had always wished for the perfect highlander son. Pravus opened the door to see the two and stopped for a few seconds before nodding and ushering them in. "It's good to see you Peaches. . . . Xiven."

Peaches walked in at her usually pace, Xiven hurrying behind her. The woman was actually surprised that Pravus was in his room. It meant he had nothing to do today in the dungeons. How very odd. She mentally shrugged the issue off. He probably wasn't very happy to see her if he was bored. "Actually I was thinking of leaving you with Xiven for a bit. You know, to get to know each other better." Peaches said with an absent wave of a coat sleeve. She actually had work to do today, whoops.
Xiven refrained from making a surprised sound, instead she just looked up at her mother's informal manner with wide eyes. She was going to leave her all alone without a second thought.
Peaches grinned at Pravus, "Do enjoy each other's company, I have to bolt and do a ton of paper work. Hope you don't mind!" She didn't wait for his response, she just slipped out the door and scurried down the hallway.
Oh. Well. Crap. "Hello... Papa..." Xiven said hesitantly as she looked up at the man. Oh gee. He was intimidating.

"Well you see I. ." He started in, trying to explain as well as he could that he had NO IDEA what to do with a child but before he knew it the other cat had slipped out the door and was gone. Damn that woman x.x. Pravus took in a breath, before slowly letting it out and letting his gaze settle upon the child before him.
He realized after a moment that he was probably scaring her and blinked before sitting down and waving a hand towards another chair. "Hello Xiven, should I ring for some tea? Or. . food? Are you hungry?" He asked, not a lot of emotion in his voice, but apparently he was trying. Why did she have to be born a torque. . and a girl. His lips twitched slightly. He sort of looked around his room and resisted the urge to scratch the back of his neck..
How was he, of all people, supposed to relate to a child?

This was so very awkward. She was going to give mom Hell for this one. Hell and a bloody hand basket if she could manage that. She stared back at the man. He really wasn't that terrifying when it came down to it. Just a little intimidating with that spine, scares and sharp pointy claws. Maybe he was scary and she just couldn't see it properly. Whatever.
She smiled when he offered her a chair. With catlike grace she manged to hop onto it without much of a struggle. Take that bindings. Now... did she really want to eat something with her Papa?
"I guess tea might be nice," She said quietly. But then what? Maybe she should bring up a topic of conversation. Or... something? She looked up at him trying her best not to look nervous. "Uh... I was wondering if you could tell me what you do in... detail."
She knew that he tortured people but beyond that she was at a loss. Mom didn't like explaining things really.

Pravus was about to get up and peek his head out the door to ask for tea when Xiven asked her next question. His body went stock still, every muscle settled and stopped moving. His look went quite dark and his hands slipped down into his lap. Why was she asking this? Surely Peaches already knew, that cat seemed to know things that no one should. Had she really sent their daughter to spy and gather information? But no, Peaches wasn't the sort. She'd simply sit on your chest in the middle of the night and annoy you with questions until you answered her.
He took in a breath, breaking the stillness of his body before rising and moving over to the door. Pravus opened it quietly and peeked his head out the door, managing to get a runners attention and asked for a pot of tea. After that he went and sat down again. He was still again, like a snake, as if he wasn't even breathing.
"Why would someone your age ask such a thing?"

Xiven stared blankly for a few moments before the questions registered. How should she respond to that? "Am I not supposed to be interested in torture and the other nitty gritty bits of life? Am I not allowed to be curious about what my Papa does for a living? I'd rather not talk about fluff and meaningless things over tea."
The feline's tail swished as she suddenly looked down. Damn. That was probably too direct wasn't it? "I'm sorry if that was too direct I just... I want to know." the young Queen looked up at him hesitantly. Had she over stepped her boundaries by being honest with him? He was very tense about all of this, and probably fairing worse than she was.
She wasn't going to say sorry unless she absolutely needed to. One of ears flicked with anticipation as she waited for his response. It seemed like an eternity.

The words struck him and left his mind backpeddling a bit. Did she really not shrink away from what he did? Did she really not think him a monster, and instead was actually interested? He had tried, what in his mind was, so hard with Lior and all the boy ever did was go pale and run.
And here his daughter, the one he had ignored for her entire childhood, sought him out to ask. To ask what he did. .. in detail. Pravus' face twitched as her head dropped, his eyes going dark. There really was only one way, in detail, to explain what he did to anyone else. His stomach roiled a little, what about this reminded him of when he first met his Queen. . .
"No apologies." He watched her face, wanting to see if there was any hesitation. He saw none and stood, motioning towards the door. "Perhaps you should follow me."

She blinked. He took her seriously? He actually took her seriously? Xiven couldn't help but feel a bit of happy welling up inside her as she hopped off the chair to hurry up. Her tail swished in thought as she hurried along besides him.
They were probably going down to the dungeons then? Was he actually going to show her what it was like to torture a person? Was that really a good idea? Gee, what would Mom think of this whole incident? She would find out, she always did. Those were a lot of questions, but they all didn't need answers.
Her Papa didn't hate her. It was a nice feeling. He had never wanted her, even though she was a Queen. She wasn't a boy or a Highlander, so she generally failed all around. But now... he was actually paying attention to her? She could almost skip, but she knew better than to make an idiot out of herself in front of her Papa.

Humm. Pravus wondered quietly to himself. Was it really the right thing to do, showing this child what torturing really was. Perhaps it would scare her to the point she'd never wonder again. . . Perhaps it would scar her to the point of no return. He wasn't sure how Peaches would take that. How she would take it if he 'broke' their child.
But the opportunity to finally teach, he couldn't pass it up. So what if she wasn't a highlander, if she wasn't a he. Her mother was perhaps . . his thoughts trailed off as they reached the stairs down to dungeon. For one who was keen on such things, the old stale smell of blood was now evident. The rank stink of old sweat, and tears, was also noticeable. As well as the smell of dirtier things.
He halted, watching his daughter. Now would be the point where most people would turn back, pansies. Though he guessed, most didn't think the way he thought, or function the same either.
