[OOC: takes place a relatively short time after 'Visiting Hours' FP: Did we want to eventually include Mephit in this, or shall we do that in a different thread?] Heilyn had sent Seth out to run some errands for her. She'd brought back some gifts for various people from the Bog and to associate Seth with good things in the minds of said people (she'd given him plenty of warnings and such on how to behave and to politely excuse himself to leave should he find himself in a rough situation. She loved the man, but Gods, did his formal etiquette need some work), she had him give the things to them. She gave him a kiss on his funny bat nose and sent him off, watching him leave. They'd just seen Bernard not to long ago, but the doctors were about to shut the doors on visiting Bernard, so she had to get the copies of the journals to him before then. The language was a touch archaic, as it was written roughly a century and a half ago, if not more, but she figured Bernard was well-educated enough to figure it out. Heilyn had followed Seth a little ways down the hall, but saw him off at the end of a corridor. She leaned against the wall, watching him leave. She sighed, hardly able to wait for him to see him later tonight. She hated to admit it, but she craved every touch from the man. She turned back around, then became frustrated. Why in the hell did I came down the stairs?! she thought, Didn't I stop to think that I would have to go up them to?! She was about to start up the stairs when she felt a presence behind her. Her ears twitched and she turned her head around. Oh Gods. It was that Corvie mix she'd semi-blown off while visiting Bernard. Seth was gone and there wasn't so much as a servant on the floor. She dipped her head. "Hello again," she said, hiding her fear completely. A the top of her form, she could've easily taken this guy out if she had to, but at around 7-8 months pregnant... "I wasn't expecting to see you so soon."[Hope that's a good start... Lemme know if changing anything will make it easier for you]

[OOC: I'm sorry in advance if this reply is a little lame...I just finally got to sleep for the first time in three days...and my brain is still a little tired/incoherant XD; I promise the replies will be better in the future.
As for Mephit...feel free to invite Vyn in this rp later if you would like <3 If you both would like anyway XD; I'm also happy to just wait for the next time Heilyn and Severus interact XD really whatever you both think is best <3.] Seeing Bernard in the condition he was in was extremely hard on Severus, though he tried his hardest not to show the amount of distress he was in. Whatever was said in the visiting room was left there, as Severus began to head back to his Lab. The last thing he needed was to be distressed and thinking about other things while he was dealing with dangerous chemicals. But it was hard not to think about the things going on. What was going to happen to him now that Fino was dead? He was expendible...and being the Corvistowne that he was...(well...half was), he wasn't sure how the new Queen would feel about having him around. The home he had since he was 10 could very well be striped from him, and he wasn't on good terms with his mother...or any of his family members really. And to make matters worse...the only person he really did seem to care about was hospitalized. He sighed a bit as he walked down the halls, his snake-like neck bent in a tired fashion so that his eyes were glued to the floor. He was not in a stable place in his life, and he was trying desperately to keep his cool and cling on to anything that could keep his head above the chaotic waters of instability. When Heilyn saw him, he was probably looking as if he had not slept in several days, not that nessesarily he was unkept, but his face looked older and tired. Severus didn't seem to be paying very close attention to his surroundings, a first really. One of the things to be said about Severus was that he was a man with an acute awareness of everything going on around him. It was how he was able to walk around tha Palace without being seen or heard. Why he knew things that most court members didn't about fellow royals, and how he knew most everyone who was part of the court system without having actually met them. He knew all the gossip and drama. If he wanted to be, he probably could be very successful socially among the courts. Today however, he seemed to be the exact opposite. He was to deep within his own mind without the safety of his lab walls around him. So it took him slightly by suprise when he was addressed. He lifted his head in a quick and jarring manner, taking a step back...but for all his emotional turmoil and the like he was feeling before, suddenly he seemed to stand up straight, and recollect himself, as if what had happened previously hadn't happened at all. Now he was exactly like how he was when he had been in the room with Bernard, his confident stature and condecending facial expression now remerged. He looked at the Coyote, staring at her belly slightly, then the stairs. "Indeed. Heilyn...isn't it? One such as yourself in your condition probably shouldn't be wandering around this late at night....on stairs. Wouldn't want to birth them prematurely." he said...in his usual chastizing manner. With his bit said, he bowed his head a bit and started to walk once again, in the direction of his lab. [OOC: oh...uh...Heilyn can stop him or something XD; He just...doesn't know what to make of being stopped in the halls.....XD;..."What...someone might actually want to talk to me?" >.>;]

[I hear that. I still haven't adjusted to the change in my work schedule and I'm just tired all the time. >P
We'll see how this goes. If Mephit fits into the flow of the where this goes, then yeah... we did really have much planned though, huh? XD I definitely Don't want to leave Mephit out of the fun if it can be helped!
Heilyn: I DO.
Shut up, betch, you don't get a choice. >P]
Heilyn was alarmed at the state of the man. He really did not look well mentally. He looked exactly as she felt. Was he also a friend of Bernard's?
She nodded her head when he double-checked her name, but remained silent. She blinked and tilted her head ever so subtly at his last comment. It was almost as if he cared...? Well, he was leaving now, anyway, which was good.
Still, something was nagging Heilyn.
"Before you go, I just wanted to apologize for my shortness with you while visiting Bernard... are you two close?" Ah dammit. She was exhausted from worry and hormones that seemed to push the very definition of sanity. She wanted to just leave and rest, be glad that the interaction was so short, but she'd just blurted out that last bit. She looked at herself in a shiny suit of armor next to her. Yeah, she wasn't looking so great, herself.

[OOC: *nodsnods* I like Mephit alot XD I want to have her included at some point as well...since I also really want to work on her and Severus dynamic more XD; since it's rather strange and complex XD;] He raised an eyebrow before turning around the face the Heilyn. He had been walking away, not expecting to be talked to when he recieved the appology. He wasn't sure what to make of the gesture. It was slightly foregin to him, though it was something he had always sort of hoped to hear eventually within his lifetime. So many people just...didn't get him. Sure he said some assholeish things from time to time, and probably deserved the tonguelashings he recieved, but he was a complex creature. He had better things to do then just exsist to make people suffer, though thats all people ever seemed to think he was out to do. His reason for being. He used to think that eventually people would understand, and eventually they would find the words to appologize for making his own life difficult. But they never did, and he stopped thinking about it. Until just now. His nose flared a little, reminded of the offence that had taken place earlier, but it's snake-like slits soon settled, and that was all to suggest that he had been severaly upsetted before. "It is not as if it is a new reaction." he said simply, his own way of taking the appology. Now it was his turn to cock his head. Was she really wanting to talk to him? He wondered if he would say more then a couple words, he really didn't have anyone in the court he regularly talked to. He begrudgingly admitted to himself that he needed more allies if nothing else. How else was he to gain Queenship and maintain it without...friends. "Yes...He's the father I should have probably had." he said in a suprisingly honest and unbridled moment.

Heilyn took notice of his reaction, but made no indication. What an odd fellow. The obvious anger in his eyes contrasted with the tone of his voice. Only that condescending undertone being a hint. He kept a lot of things bottled up, didn't he?
She was, however, unexpectedly touched by his answer. A father figure was closer than just a friend. As buddy-buddy as she and Bernard were, it was entirely possible that Severus had known the man longer. She felt bad about making him feel unwelcome while she visited him. She closed her eyes and took a calming breath in. No. She almost felt bad for him. She couldn't wait until she was no longer pregnant. She hated feeling all these irrational thoughts and having so little control over her own emotions.
"Well, I'm glad to see he has other people who care about him willing to stop by and visit him. Good ev--" she turned and was about to make the tiring but careful haul up the stairs to her room when she saw a figure coming down the stairs. Not another one... She was literally surrounded by those of her least favorite region. It reminded her of that time back in the Capitol... except this time the Corvies were only half-breeds, there were only two of them, and they seemed to be much healthier than those who made the attempt at capturing the Bog Dweller...
She knew, logically, that as fellow members of the Court, there was really no way they could mean her that level of harm, but it was hardly a memory that faded easily...
[....if they do eventually become friends, Heilyn might try to drag him off to a strip joint... XDD]

[OOC: HEHE! Sure whenever Vyn wants to join in she is welcome <3. AND HEHUR...omg...Severus at a strip joint....thats about the most impossible thing ever...but I can't deny being seriously amused by the thought XD;] He knew that the Coyote talking to him was strange. In the end, she was just interested in knowing his relation to Bernard. Figures. She would probably attempt to avoid him from now on. Oh well, so much for making allies within the courts. It was just then that he noticed her interupted speech and looked up to see the figure of....was that who he thought it was? He raised an eyebrow. He had known that his sister had an interest in the courts, they had talked about it once or twice when he had still lived at home. But he had figured after a time that she had pursued other things instead of the courts. It was strange to see her there suddenly. He hadn't seen her since they were very young. They really hadn't ever been that close, though civility would be a better word to discribe their relationship with eachother, at least from his end. He really didn't have a very good relationship with any of his family members except maybe his mother. Well, that was changed to now. So much had changed. "Mephit?"

Mephitisia was lost in thought as she made her way down the stairs, her orange eyes distant and her nails tapping against her thigh. Upon hearing that Bernard was well enough for visitors, Pravus had slipped away to meet him and Mephit was on her way there to meet up with him. Both to pay her respect to Bernard and to continue her tight vigil on the unstable feline. A familiar voice interrupted her thoughts and her serpentine orbs lifted to fall upon Severus and Heilyn in turn. The last thing she wanted was an interruption, but it would give Pravus some time to speak with Bernard alone... "Severus." She responded cordially, dipping her head to the serpentine deer before shifting her gaze to Heilyn. Ahh, yes... This was the woman Bernard had suggested she meet, wasn't it? It was also, to her displeasure, most definitely the Bog Dweller she'd encountered before. Masking her displeasure, Mephit nodded her head toward the other Jack. "Miss Heilyn."It was, however, Severus that greeted her and Severus that would get the majority of her attention. After all, she imagined it must have been an interesting surprise... he'd yet to see her here before. So much had happened since her arrival... "You seem to have done well for yourself, Severus. I've heard you've even become a King."Guh, how she hated idle bantering such as this.

Heilyn probably would not have remembered the doe, casting her away from her memory in the lengthy list of other faces that she'd decided she didn't like and managed to piss off, if it hadn't been for her fangs and eyes. There was something comforting about her eyes, reminding the Coyote of home, but the fangs...
God knows what that was about. Was she a mix breed or an experiment?
Either way, she kept a mask of neutrality on her face, and nodded back, repeating the name she'd re-learned through living at the Courts. "Mephitisia." She watched as the other bipedal ignored her and went to speak to Severus.
Oh, Severus was a King, was he? Well, that made it awkward with how, quite frankly, rudely she'd treated the man. She would make up for it later. I wonder if he likes tea? she thought of the tea pot and glasses she'd brought back originally for Queen Serafino. The thought of the man's death brought on a flood on other thoughts. Worry for Bernard, mostly. The new Queen would probably focus more on the loyalty of the Kings, but even if he were to purge the Jacks as he would like, her position as an Ambassador into a relatively untapped land basically secured her job in the courts. No, it was others things she was worried about. That, and the fact her emotions were basically uncontrollable now, didn't help...
She'd lost herself in thought and had forgotten for the moment that she was tired and needed to retreat to her suite.

Despite the cordial greetings, Severus could not help but sence unease between the two females. "I see you two have met then." he was rather glad for it. He rather not introduce one to the other. He was never good at things like that. Though he supposed he would really have to learn. It was all part of a social edequte he needed to start participating in. Mephit had always been better at that then him, which he found slightly strange...considering how...unapproachible she could be.
"I must admit it is strange to see you grown. It has most likely been far to long." though he wondered if either would care about the length of time it had been since they last saw eachother. While he and Mephit had talked in their youth...there had always sort of been..some sort of barrier that never allowed them to get close. It was possibly caused by himself...though he also begun to speculate that it might also have been very much caused by her. Whatever the reason, they were not increadibly close.
"Yes, I did manage to aquire the rank, and the title of Fino's King, though..." he didn't finish, they would both know where that sentence ended. "You are a Jack now."

"Briefly, yes." Mephitisia replied absently. "Though I have been meaning to have a more formal meeting with her at some point." Her orange gaze drifted back to the coyote, studying her thoughtfully and forcefully ignoring the stench of her. Bog Dwellers...
Severus's thoughts caught her off guard, though it did not show in her eyes, and she turned back to face him without speaking for a moment. A gulf... Yes, he could call it that. Few people would ever breach it, especially not after the weakness she'd experienced by allowing it to shrink between her and Pravus. Worry like that... She never wanted to feel it again.
"I am a Jack now." She agreed strongly, proud and yet frustrated to. He had attained what she had wanted and, in a way, it hurt. Serafino... The doe's tail flicked in absent displeasure, forcing those thoughts out of her mind. "For, a while now...actually. But with the recent events, things have been chaotic to say the least."
Her gaze slid back, deciding it best not to ignore the other Jack. "How have you been faring, Miss Heilyn?"
