She gave a nod at his comment about her being lucky to have such a family. “I know. Papa treats me like his shining star and I have eight siblings, though, mind you they are not all from the same parents. Seven of them are from Daddy-Rai and Aunty-Mnem who are friends of my Mommy and Papa. Hadyn though is one of my blood.”
It was hard to explain her family to someone in a short amount of words. Apparently, as she had learned after she had been old enough to leave the family nest without her other siblings around, their family situation was a strange one. Daddy-Rai and her Papa were friends and like wise with Mommy and Anutie-Mnem. Each of them (Papa and Mommy, Daddy-Rai and Auntie-Mnem) had had their own kids and they had all just grown up together as family.
“At least you have your brother.” She continued before being distracted by their coming to the entrance of the garden. “Ah here we are!”

"Well, your family sounds kind of...confusing." Before they knew it, they were at the garden and it was definitely beautiful. There were so many plants and flowers that Peder couldn't even begin to name them.
"Well love, lead me to your favorite one; it's always good to have those kinds of things in mind" He grinned.
"I myself like roses, they work everytim- I mean they're pretty little things." Woo, he needed to keep a better watch on what he said or she was going to catch on and think him a cad.
Females usually got the wrong idea about him, he liked romance them but he never jut ditched them. He always left it open for them to come back to him at any time, though they never really did. He understood though that most would be hesitant with him as he didn't appear to be relationship material. One day though, he was going to find a female that tested him and made him crazy... that would be the girl for him. If he could find that, he would scoop her up right then and there and marry 'er. But those were silly thoughts, for now he was in a garden... beautiful girl on his arm and having a top-notch time with her too.

She gave a soft friendly laugh. “I think putting it as ‘confusing’ is a little bit of an understatement.”
“I do not think I could simply lead you to ‘my favorite’ I simply like them all. Roses, for example are quite nice, are they not?” She said latching onto his mentioning them. “My favorite flower is the Lily though. Well the White Water Lily to be more exact. I just love the smell it gives off and its roots can be used as a antiseptic.” She blushed a little as she realized that she probably had just gone off on a tangent he probably did not want to be bothered with.
“Sorry,” she whispered, “I really get excited about plants. Here, why do we not walk around and you can point out certain plants that catch your attention and I can, hopefully, explain them to you” She said, giving him a smile.

Peder smiled at Elyse sweetly.. well as sweetly as he could anyway. "Yes, Roses are not as lovely as you but you are right they are nice. White Water Lily, you will have to point that one out. I prefer daisies myself but you didn't hear that from me." He winked.
"Ay, wot you got to be sorry about? E'rybody got to have a passion, without it you'd be dead on the inside and someone as lovely as you don't deserve that." He smiled wide at her and put his paw on her shoulder.
"Ok love, here's what I will do. I'll close my eyes and point at a flower and you tell me what you know about it. If you can do that, I will buy you a present later on" He grinned. "Deal?"

“I will have to show you the Water Lilly when we well, get to the pond.” She responded giving a small blush.
Her blush grew some at his next words. Having a passion for something did indeed make life worth living and kept something shining and hopeful in a person’s eyes. She had not really thought of it before. Having a passion . . . well gave you a purpose.
When he gently laid his paw on her should she gave a little jump from surprise, slightly startled from her thoughts though he might not have noticed the action. Listening to his proposition on what they should do, she tilted her head to the side.
“And wot happens if I am not able to recognize the flower?” She asked. She did indeed know most of the plants here in the garden, having spent much of her youth when she ran away from home here. After a moment thought she gave a nod of her head and continued. “Alright, that sounds like a deal. Feel free to start at anytime.”

He had made her blush and that pleased him a lot. He was growing to like this girl, and he wasn’t really sure what to do about that. He was the bachelor type, he wasn’t supposed to fall for a girl; he didn’t even know how to fall for a girl. He only knew how to woo her into his bed… but that was not for Elyse and he knew it. With this girl, he had to be gentler. He was beginning to see that plants were her weak spot so hopefully he could do something with that.
“Well, if you don’t know the flower… I get a kiss” He grinned.
“You can choose the location however the end result still stands. Yes, let’s begin…” He pointed to a flower with many small purple blooms.
“Tell me, about this one love” He looked at her hopefully waiting for her answer. He was enjoying the game so far, regardless of whether she got it or not.

She looked towards the flowers he was pointing at taking in the purple flowers and surrounds trying to name it. It took her a moment to remember the name of the plant.
“Well Peder, the plant that you are pointing to goes by the name of Anemone Flower, it is a very interesting plant indeed. The negative uses of this plant are those of : if one first bruises the leaves and then places them to the skin they will cause blisters and when consumed there is a strong acid taste. However, the benefit of the plant’s liquid is that it can help stop spasmodic coughing such as with asthma.” She responded.
It was a really useful plant though she had not really had to use it for anything yet. Mommy-Mnem had required her to memorize many plants and their uses, both as poisons and healing herbs.
She turned back to face him as she awaited his response, wondering if he would challenge her knowledge again or if he would consider her the winner.

Damn, she was good; he had certainly taken this girl's knowledge for granted and unfortunately his little plan had not worked so well for him. He had intended to at least sneak a kiss if she got a wrong answer but she proved otherwise. He hadn't been so nervous then when him and Pathos ran into those Yarrow girls and were chased down the street because of it. Man, those were good times... he really would have to call up his brother sometime and plan another adventure. Maybe he would go with him to track down the Midori Beach cutie he met not too long ago.
"Alright love, well what is that one?" He pointed to a taller flower with many bell shaped blooms. There were many flowers that looked like this one but he was uncertain whether she would figure it out or not. The game was fun to him regardless if she was beating the pants off of him. Too bad he hadn't made the stakes higher, this could have been even more interesting.

She looked this plant over for a long moment.
“I believe that that one is called the Snapdragon.” She replied. “I am not sure if I completely remember wot this one does, however I do remember that it is often used to help create a plaster to cover tumors and ulcers. It is a simple but effect method,” She finished.
Turning back to face him she gave him a shyer smile this time. “Are you ready to call me the winner, yet? Or do you need me to explain to you just one more of your randomly chosen plants?” She asked, both flirting a little and teasing him.
She really hoped that she was not deflating his ego any. Some people, mostly males, got a little angry after she started to show off knowledge in plants rather then keep hush about her intelligence. She was not quite sure why and more often then not that made her want to be more knowledgeable.
